I used to decorate just about every room in the house, but the last few years it’s just the tree and a couple very special things. The tree goes up November 1st and doesn’t come down until March 1st. It used to be so depressing putting everything away, even if I waited until mid January. The last couple years I left it up all winter, and it made me much happier. Michigan winters are long, cold and mostly dreary. Having the tree in the corner of the family room, and lit from before my first cup of coffee in the morning until I go up to bed at night, makes me happy. I’m old, it’s my house, and I no longer care what anyone thinks about it.🎄☃️🎅🏻

For inside it'll be February but how early or late IDK, probably later on. Outdoor stuff is mid-January. If I have to look out at leafless branches all over the place because it's winter and an overall brown shade at least I can have something to look at inside.

I opened the cabinet at the start of December, I close the cabinet sometime next year.
My fully decorated tabletop tree is kept behind cabinet doors.

This year I added a garden urn filled with greenery and a pyramid of Christmas balls to a pedestal in the foyer. No idea where it’ll be stored yet.

Our great room tree is a live one this year. So, I think that will come down on Sunday or Monday. All of the decorations will be down by the end of next week.

I have already started to significantly downsize and donate our Christmas decorations. My dear friend moved into a new house and had to start over. I was happy to give her 2 of my artificial trees and several boughs of stair rail garland.

We are expecting a decent snowstorm tonight (5’-10’), so we sadly took down outside decor except along the gutters. DH will take them down at some point when the roof is clear and it feels warmer - 20’s today.

Since I’ll be stuck inside tomorrow, I will likely take down the tree and inside decor. I have 12 days off for the holidays and like to do a deep clean while I’m home so having everything away will help kick start that process. We put our tree up early this year- weekend after Halloween. I’m not sick of the decor- but okay with taking it all down now. I will be happy to put away all my Christmas sweaters and tops.

We don't have as many Christmas decorations, compared to most people. Not a lot of things like Santas, Rudolph, or elves! We will probably take stuff down Jan 4. My vary favorite decoration, a nostalgic plastic blow-molded snowman (that I got at a yard sale for $3) sits on the deck smiling at me; he may stay a bit longer.

I sort of do my in parts and pieces. I brought the mailbox decorations in this morning, they are sitting near the steps to the basement to go down next time I do. I took two of the front window candles down this morning when I opened the curtains. The rest I'll just do a little every day, I'll clear off the mantle maybe tomorrow. The next day the dining room table. I'll take down the tree and the nutcrackers the Jan. 2.

In January I do Snowmen and snowflake decor around the house. :)

The big tree will stay up until late January. Outdoor is coming down tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be great, and then not so much for a while. The other inside stuff I'll take down in pieces over this week, and the two small trees next weekend.

Headed to beach as I type 🏝️ back the 5th, so will begin the takedown then. Though one tree will remain and convert to Mardi Gras! 📿

As I posted elsewhere we have a pretty big Orthodox community here and Orthodox Christmas isn't until January 7th. We wait until the epiphany, January 6th, weather permitting, to take down the outside decorations. My wife is not religious but she is a firm believer in the "traditional" Christmas season.......2 weeks before Christmas until 2 weeks after Christmas, not the "Retail" Christmas season.

For Me……I’m really weird….when the day after Christmas comes, I am done with Santa, Rudolph and anything like that - totally done

I'm the same way. Done with the music, the TV shows/movies. Decor - all of it.

I put out more household decor this year because we were hosting Christmas Day and I wanted to do it up right. Now I've got to deal with it all. But not today! I'm relaxing today....but tomorrow, tomorrow I'm taking some of it down for sure. Usually we don't take the tree down till New Years Day but this year I think I'll probably tackle it earlier than that. At least that is my plan.

I take all of my decorations inside and out down in one go, on New Years day or as close to it as possible thereafter. It feels weird not having christmas stuff still up on NYE.

We’ll take our tree down before Easter.
I like to light it up for Valentine’s/St. Patrick’s day.
Outdoor lights are permanent.
Me too!! We leave the tree up until "whenever;" the LittleGuy enjoys making hearts, shamrocks, mardi gras chains, etc. to decorate it monthly- and I leave the multicolored icicle lights up on the porch all year round! Of course, we didn't finish decorating the tree until Dec 21, and with all the running around and craziness this week, I don't feel like i've really had the chance to enjoy it.
(we don't do a lot of decor, though- just the tree, a candle in each of 6 windows, and the icicle lights around the top of the porch)

I am never in a rush to take everything down. I still enjoy seeing people’s decorations after Christmas Day has passed. When I was a kid that week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, and even after, was when a lot of visiting was done, and everyone kept their decorations up.

True confession: many years ago I had a live tree that I kept up until sometime in June. I put decorations for other holidays on it, ending with small flags for flag day. I snuck it into the complex dumpster one night, and wondered what other residents thought when they saw it sticking out of there the next day.

We usually pack up Christmas on New Years Eve and put everything back up in the garage rafters. However, our high temps are going from the 70s to the 20s/30s :scared:on Sunday night.... so, we're going wrap things up about three days early and put everything away on Sunday while it's warm outside.

It feels like the holidays really flew by this year. :hourglass

Our decorations went up November 28th.

I still don't feel like I've enjoyed the season enough.

They'll come down 2nd or 3rd week of January.

Start taking things down around 1/2 & take about 5 days.. We have an artificial tree , so no rush to get it down . When we had a real one it was out on the curb the first full week of the New Year.

You’re expecting 5 to 10 feet of snow? Or is that a typo (I hope 😳)
