.... But people who call each other and say "Where are you?" "I"m in the gift shop!" "We're in the gift shop too, what are you buying?" and literally talk to people 10 feet away instead of going up to them and talking. . .that just frosts my cookies.....whew that felt good! ROFL!!!

Okay - I'll admit, we are guilty of this....If we seperate in a big store, one will call the other's cell phone and we'll "Marco!" "Polo" until we find each other....then we hang up. Of course we play Marco! Polo! even if we don't have a cell phone instead of wandering around a smaller store to find each other.

That said - what annoys me at Disney? CM's who go out of their way to make...inappropriate comments to a guest "You know, most Mickey's are (insert derogatory term for a gay man here)". What if there was a kid nearby?

From other guests - only the adults who suffer from Me-itis, and then only while they are stepping on my ability to satisfy my own Me-itis. On the scale of being worth a boo-boo to being important enough to lose a limb over, it barely is worth a boo-boo..... Vent to your partner/family/friends, get over it and move on....that tries to be our motto (and sometimes we succeed).

You know what, I am sure I encountered a few rude people on our last trip, and I am sure there will be a few this next time. But in all honesty, did any of that rude behavior ruin my trip? Two things that stick out in my mind, I actually laugh about now, because some people are so ignorant and I can't control that! If THEY want to spend their time nitpicking at everyone and everything then I just have to assume they are miserable in and outside of WDW and I am better for not knowing them anyway!

To the person who said if she is pushing a stroller with kids in it she has the right of way. I disagree. Sorry, you and your family are no more important than anyone else in the park. I will usually yield to strollers because some of them are a mess to push around, but I do that because I WANT to, not because I HAVE to. If anything I have found strollers tend to block up the flow of traffic more than anything else. So in that case, you should give the right of way to pedestrians.! Just my opinion.

And to the person who said to put the cell down. Sorry, not going to happen. Not until my husband is home safe and sound! If he calls, I am answering it. Period. I don't make it a habit to talk on my phone my entire vacation, but this is one situation I will not bend on!

I agree with you 100%! As far as the cell phone, I see your husband is a solider, I would not turn mine off, either! My Thank you to your husband and your family. Some people have such petty cell calls, that is all they can see someone making or receiving. We own our own business, just because we come to Disney, the business doesn't stop. We employ about 40 families, I could see us telling them, "Oh, no business this week, because it offends people, if we take a cell phone call." Never in a show, but come on folks, in a line, some of the things you folks talk about doesn't interest us in the least, either.

Now, to the stroller issue, I don't like dodging them either, but they are necessary for small children. When my daughter comes, she has to bring her stroller, and some people are terrible! They will walk right over her. I tried to relieve them one day, I was wore out in 30 minutes! They don't turn on a dime, I was constantly avoiding people that would walk into my path!

I think it would be wise to remember, Judge not, lest ye be Judged. One day some of you may be in the other person's shoes. Life has a way of doing that. This is how we live. I have not read all of this Thread, if this has already been said, then it's now been said twice...

It bothers me because i can't help but wonder are there people who are handicapped that could have gotten that ECV and now dont have one because an enormously overweight person has it.

What bothers me is statements like this. I was diagnosed two years ago with an incurable form of cancer. If you were to see me you would not think I was sick. Fortunately I have a cancer that causes only minimal pain but it does cause severe fatigue again though you would not know this just by looking at me. I am dying. Because it is slow growing I might have two or three more years if I am very, very lucky. I recently visited WDW and used a ECV to get around due to my fatigue. I am not one of the severely overweight people you refer to but how do you know those people do not have hidden disabilities. They could be overweight because their disability no longer allows them the freedom to exercise and keep their weight off. I pray that you are never one of those people that other people judge because they can't see the problem.

One very aggravating thing happened to me on a trip this past February(I may have posted this previously)...

It was our first day at the parks and we were in the MK. Our first stop was Fantasyland and we were on the path going from the castle hub to FL. About halfway down the path, a lady just crushes the back of my ankle with her stroller. As I hobbled out of the way, she sped up and said nothing. So much for a magical start to our day.

The most annoying and aggravating thing I've seen at WDW? That's easy- my FIL! I brought him with me, so I guess that was my bad. He was pretty aggravating, though. He let the rest of our group show up early for every ADR and he came waltzing in at the last second, or even a bit late b/c he knew he could still be seated at our table. He refused to get ready on time to be at the parks for opening even though he had the itinerary for six months ahead of time. Oh, and he called my grandma a nazi during lunch at Biergarten (luckily she was not present for that). Very insulting for myself (part-German) and any servers who may have overheard. I was so busy being embarrassed by the actions of my own family that I didn't have time to be bothered by anyone else...I'm not sure if that's a blessing or a curse. Next time we leave him home, so we'll see if it's all happy Disney magic or if other folks get on my nerves instead.

I agree with you. I keep my cell on all day, except I do silence it, but if DF or my parents call me, I usually answer, unless I'm at a show or on a ride.

Guests in ECV's who feel that just because they can drive faster than we can walk that they need to swerve back and forth to go as fast as the ECV will go. They need to try to go the same speed as the rest of us.

Most ECV only go 4 1/2 mph at the max. THe Disney ones won't even go that fast. Only idiots swerve back and forth. I think my PWC can go about 6 mph but I don't max if out unless I am on a vitually empty space. I think most of us regular ECV and PWC users go at the same speeds as walkers do. If we are in a hurry we go faster but then so do walkers.

I have had this happen to us 3 times last July and it really bugged me.
Waiting in the regular line and getting up to the point where fastpass peaple merge with us and having guests come up with no fast passes. Instead of the cm turning them back they let them just merge right in with us, in front of us after we waited so long grrrrrrrrrr

wow! I have to say I read these boards a lot & have gotten many wonderful ideas of different things to do while in WDW. I have never felt the need to respond, until now....
The OP mentioned that they dislike when they see an overweight person using the motorized wheel chairs. They said that's no reason to use these chairs. Let me ask you, how do you know they don't have a physical ailment? My father is very overweight & needs one of these chairs because he had lung cancer & had 3/4 of his lung removed. He can barely go up & down stairs now.
I also have a foot ailment. After I have been walking for about 2 hours, my foot hurts so bad I can hardly walk. I usually have to sit & rest. It's because of people like you that I feel like I have to limit my visits to the parks each day. I could really use one of these chairs at times, but I'm embarassed because if I've been sitting for a while, I can get up & walk with little (bareable) pain. So I feel if someone saw me they would give me dirty looks. I'm also overweight, but my foot problem has nothing to do with that.
So I feel your point of view is very narrow minded. Don't make assumptions of people you don't know.

My grandmother is overweight because she has severe knee problems. I do not think that it is polite for anyone to wish that an overweight person should have to walk because being "fat" is not a disability. Obessity is an epidemic and sometimes people can't help that they have it and they cannot do anything about it. You might think that these people can walk but don't you think that if they could they would kill to be able to fit on the rides again or to jump for joy with excitment when they see the castle? I mean come on people would you like to not ride your fav rides? I think that the people who complain about ECV's should rethink there complaints.

Tell you what, next time you are at WDW and if you are standing close to us when he calls, put him on speaker and my whole family will talk to him. We support and stand by our military people 100%. We'll thank him in a loud voice and dare anyone to tell us to shut up! If we don't see you at WDW, give him a big THANK YOU from us anyways!
