does anyone know when disney will come out with the seasons for 2006 for pop?

Check the rates board. :)

Tyler ~ I'm hoping you can help me. DS(9) and I are looking at satellite images of Disney World and we found a perfect Mickey head shape inside the WDW Speedway. Is that a lake?

We are looking at a picture of POP right now. It was taken April 1, 2003. Looks like the bowling pin pool had water in it, but the Hippy Dippy pool and the computer pool weren't finished yet.

Can you share where you found these images? :)

Sure. :) Go to www.globexplorer.com and type in an address for one of the Disney resorts. Then you have to zoom in and move around until you find something. It helps if you have a Walt Disney World map to look at. Try CBR. POP's address doesn't seem to work. To find POP from CBR, pan south.

Wow! Congrats to you! :)

How do you get an accessible room at Pop? My husband and I have mobility problems (club foot/arthritis) and will be sharing an electric scooter to get around the resort and the parks. We'll need to bring it in the room each night to recharge. A king accessible room is needed mainly to have enough room to store and recharge the scooter.

Do we need a doctor's note to get a King accessible room or do we just need to request it through our TA? We'd also like to have a connecting double/double room for our kids (11 and 13). I understand that all King rooms that connect, connect to a double/double room, but is that connecting room also an accessible room? I don't want to take two handicapped accessible rooms.

TIA!!

I was there in September 04 and again in late January 05. While I don't blame you for wanting to go sooner rather than later I will tell you that it will be hotter and more crowded since that is Labor Day weekend (I have a remarkable grasp of the obvious). January was so much cooler and much less crowded. If I had to choose I'd rather go in January. I'll look for 800 number and get back to you if no one else has by this evening.

IF you like the arial views try this
http://www.google.com/maps
You can still type in the street addresses and see around. To me it is easier to use but may not get you as close. You can look at it in map view and then switch to satellite when you get close.

The Mickey Lake you see is there right in front of the Race Track at just outside of MK

2 weeks to go, Can't wait, Pop on June 6th.

Thanks! I like that one better.

Thank you for your input...If possible the telephone numbers would be greatly appriciated. As for going the last week of Aug. as to going the after Labor day weekend do you think that the crowds would be less??
I can't wait to check into the POP....I have heard sooooooooo many good things about this resort and I don't think the hubby could handle me talking about disney for another 7 1/2 months compare to 3 months EVERYDAY! :rotfl:

Not quite sure which numbers you need.

800-828-0228 Walt Disney Travel Co.
407-934-7639 Central Reservations
407-WDW-DINE Character Meal registration

Does that help.

I collected these numbers from my handy Passporter.

It would seem to me that going after Labor Day Weekend would be better than before, but I haven't been at that time often enough to really speak authoritatively. I was there in September (7-10) of last year. That is the weekend of the "Nights of Joy" Christian music concerts at MK so there were a lot of youth groups there for the concerts. Of course, last year the hurricanes kept a lot of people away from the parks so my experience might not be representative.
I really enjoyed Pop. It is not only bright and clean and well kept but the theme recalls so many memories of childhood. You'll have a great time. I'll be back there at the end of October. Can't make it before then.

I'm the first to admit when I'm wrong. I owe POP an apology. I just returned (May 22nd) from spending two nights at POP, then five nights at BWV, then a final two nights at POP. Prior to my trip I just couldn't get excited about POP. The icons just looked so gaudy and I was not looking forward to staying in a value resort. Boy, was I wrong!!! The resort is just fun and adorable. The staff was very friendly. Even though I was staying solo, I recieved four towel animals on the 14th and three on the 22nd (I didn't reveive any at BWV, by the way.) I had requested fourth floor, 50 or 70's buildings facing the lake. I got third floor, 50's Lady Building, room # 1312, which while not facing the lake was absolutely perfect. The only way I could have been closer to the food court was if I was on the second or first floor. I had a corner room right next to the stairwell. I guess because most people with kids use the elevators, I heard no noise. Using the stairs, I was only about 2 minutes from the main building. Standing outside my courtyard view room I could look to the right and see the bowling pin pool and look to the left and see the Hippy Dippy pool, but was far enough away from both that I heard no noise. The view was wonderful, but so quiet! I loved the location so much that when I checked out on the 14th I stopped by check-in and asked if there was anyway I could have in the same area when I checked back in in five days. The CM told me she would try to block the room out for me. Guess what! When I returned from BWV in five days I had the exact same room (#1312). Again the staff at POP are great. Buses were frequent and not crowded. The location was much better at BWV, of course (due to its' proximity to Epcot and MGM), but buses were much better at POP and the people (both staff and fellow guests) at POP seemed to be friendlier. I enjoyed both resorts and was surprised that I had no regrets leaving BWV on the 20th to return to POP. The resort was just really cute! I was pleasantly surprised.

DME also worked great, by the way.

Thanks for the numbers...it helps out alot. :wave2: Can't wait to experience it all myself. :cool1:  we still haven't decided if we want to go there in Sept or Jan.....hmmmmmmmm

These images are very outdated. I pulled up my address and the picture is at least 4 years old, I know this by changes I and my neighbors have done to our houses over the past years. :earsboy:

I noticed that too. I live in a new development and a lot of the houses that are here now are not in the picture. It's still cool though. :)
