The we loooooove Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Part 4

Just booked with VS again for a non blackout period. Never an issue renting at least once a year thru them in the past.

Do have a Q re getting a scooter delivered there.

Appears one doesn’t have to meet GMS there to take possession & they will deliver to either:

9560 via encinas
Or
5353 del verde

thinking the 2nd would be correct one, not sure if it’s bldg 6 where renters ck in or the other building near front of resort/main pool area. Anyone know?
Wondering how your rental worked out. Hopefully all went well.

perfect! The desk managed to find us a great room early. Not our usual #6, one next to main bldg.

Room in good order & great view. Liked the location & could always find parking in the lot easily

They even gave 2 vouchers for ice cream in honor of the mr's BD

We have been coming to Wyndham bonnet creek for sixteen years. We are here now, and I’m concerned about the state of the resort. Furniture in the room is beat up and some is broken. The customer service practices, especially at check-in, are challenging in ways unlike other hotels. Many workers struggle to understand English. It is uncomfortably crowded outside and in the pool areas- it’s like walking around during a giant frat party. Most concerning was that guests in the room across from us were screaming like unhinged psychopaths from 4-6 in the morning. We had to call security. It didn’t stop. This resort feels like staying in a low rent housing. It’s still beautiful and well located. The rooms are still a fantastic size. But this is the first time in almost 20 stays that I’ve felt like we may not come back.

We are in tower 1. I asked for literally any other option but this is all they claimed was available.
They’re always going to give first choice to owners who are permitted to call in and make a room request in advance, so if the resort is fully booked (sounds like it is this week), then renters will get put in the oldest units. If you decide to come back hopefully you get a better room. The other option is to rent a presidential unit, which are all located in tower 6, and are all relatively recently renovated, but that is obviously more expensive (and hard to get at peak demand times). I’m checking into a presidential unit in 2 weeks. I’ll report back to this thread how the resort seems at that time.

WDW Oswald, we had a similar experience. We were in Tower 5. Parking was awful at Tower 4 and 5. Three cars were parked in the same handicapped spots for the entire week. Maybe families had two cars. Overall, we had a nice time but were disappointed in overall condition of unit. Small Stains on sofa and torn curtains, Housekeeping’s response was those curtains will be replaced soon. Several tacks coming out of carpet strips resulting in a sore foot. Their solution was to come in with a hammer and tell us it’s common. We also had a loud group next door (which I know can happen). We called and they said they contacted them but it continued. We chalked it up to rude guests but it was annoying.

Yes- I just found out our dishwasher is broken after having filled it. I mean, for what I paid renting from an owner, it’s hard to complain. I just think they have added a little *too much* to this place and as a result it has become very crowded and claustrophobic in some ways. Tower six has apparently had a rough week also as the hot water went down yesterday and the trash chute was also closed for repair. I also was in the main lobby yesterday and overheard many frustrated guests. Nobody wants to show up at their resort after a long day of travel and deal with an extended check in process full of gimmicks to get you to the timeshare sales desk. I was particularly annoyed because although the resort had my reservation confirmed under my name and I showed a photo ID, they made me email my confirmation to them. Why should I have to dig through my email on phone and find something they already have? I prefer most hotels, where I hand them a credit card and photo id and they give me a room key and it takes about 3 minutes.

For what it's worth, that happened to me at Beach Club Villas. It took them two days to replace it, during which time the water in the dishwasher fermented.

That was fun!

My point is: these things happen. If you travel often enough, eventually you draw the short straw.

I did not mind all that much. This was a cheap timeshare exchange that happened to be during Food & Wine, and it ended up being fewer Wyndham points than it would have cost me to book a 1BR at Bonnet for the same week.

They tried that nonsense with me too. I told them I would email it later if I could find it and after I got settled and of course never did. It’s my understanding they are trying to track who people rent from and then shut down those avenues.

Don’t their records already show who is the owner and who is the guest? Very bizarre.

The resort was built because they roped people into those timeshare spiels.
While the cost to stay there is a bargain, you do have to "pay" a little in check-in annoyance.
