The Groovy New Pop Century FAQ Thread!

I've done a brief scan through this entire thread and don't think I came across the opening/closing times of Everything Pop Cafe. I'm checking in quite late (11:00pm-ish) and although I may be wrong, I'm thinking we might want a bite of something before bed. Also, with MK EMH opening time at 8:00a, any chance of breakfast at 6:30am-ish?

If I'm not mistaken, they open around 6am, and close around midnight. However, during these early morning, and late night hours, selections may be limited.

We will be at POP Century beginning July 10th - we will just be getting back from a Disney cruise and have a week booked afterwards.

We'll take our green shirts and wear them for recognization

Who else will be there during that week???

I'm sure this question has been asked(possibly more than once), but pleas edon't make me go trough 56 pages of posts! In January of 2006 we are going to WDW and staying at PC with friends. My husband and i have 3 daughters and would like to get 2 connecting rooms, is it possible to get a king bed room(non disabled) connecting to a standard double bed room? If not we still want two room, we actually NEED two rooms just for my family! We have stayed at PC twice before but since I have a daughter who just turned 2 we've been able to swing it with one room, although very close quaters! My kids love it there. Thank you for your help. Also I think we'll be in the preferred buildings when we go!

We are leaving for POP on Saturday :cheer2: and I can't wait. My question is do I need to call ahead to request a bedrail?

Thanks!

Anyone else going to be there next week?

Not sure about the King/Double connecting, but when I stayed there in November, I went with my parents and we got connecting Double rooms. We were also in Preferred.

Our room in Jan was a double that connected to a king (a problem since our friends next door had 3 people). It was in the 60s building.

Thank you so much for the replies!!! I'm going to request a standard king(non disabled) room that connects to a standard double room. If both rooms end up being doubles OH well. I thought the girls could all stay in the one room while my hubby and I have a big king bed to share!!!!! Thank you again!

the people (both staff and fellow guests) at POP seemed to be friendlier. I enjoyed both resorts and was surprised that I had no regrets leaving BWV on the 20th to return to POP. The resort was just really cute! I was pleasantly surprised.
ITA! We just got back yesterday and had a terrific time. We are DVCers, so it was really nice just to have housekeeping service this time. But they went above and beyond! First day, a towel animal and DD's stuffed unicorn from home were "looking for us" out the window. More cute toy arrangements and another towel animal followed over the rest of our stay, and it made us look forward to returning to the room at nap time. This was our first time at a Value Resort and our first time with such great housekeeping!

The CMs at Everything Pop were also extremely friendly as were the Guests. I had been nervous about groups of rowdy kids or CMs with slightly condescending attitudes because of the "Value stigma" but did not encounter either. The Guests all seemed to appreciate what they had: a wonderful vacation on property. And the CMs seemed to treat the Guests more as friends than they do at other resorts.

I highly recommend it!

That is the same feeling we had when we stayed at POP on our last visit in November. It was wonderful. We didn't experience any of the negative things that other posters have talked about. We'll stay there again next summer! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm not positive about what you should do, but it wouldn't hurt to call ahead...just in case! :)

I wish I was going... :(

You can call ahead if you want to, but we have always just requested it when we got there. We have never had a problem. Have a great time!

We recently stayed at Pop Century. For a value resort - it was the best value I ever paid for anything. The room was great - we had a king bed on the fourth floor facing the lobby. It was quiet at night. We could hear toilets flushing but it didn't keep us from sleeping - with the force of the toilet flushing I am not surprised we could hear it. Other than that it was a great hotel, I will definitely stay there again. Everyone was very helpful and very nice. If anyone has questions I would be happy to answer them. I can't wait to go back. We had a blast!!! :Pinkbounc

I'm very excited even though we did decide to down grade from the Swan. (Long Story) I must say that I am still a little nervous b/c this is our 1st time being at a value, but there seem to be far more pleasent experinces than negative. I'm praying that the buses are way better than our last trip from at the WL. They were awful, and I must say that is the main reason we finaly decided to take that one out of options.

SO, here we come July 6-13th!

One nice experience that I had, traveling from MK to POP was when the bus driver tried to keep us occupied (A crowded bus may I add) by testing our knowledge. ***If you were on the bus when this happened, please don't spoil the fun*** Can you name 11 Disney movies that have only a one word title? :rolleyes1 First one is...Cinderella. Let's see if anyone can name 10 more....have fun! Besides this, I absolutely love POP Century!!! :lovestruc

Bambi
Mulan
Aladdin
Dumbo
Hercules
Pocahontas
Fantasia
Um................

Oliver
Aristocats
Fantasia
Pinocchio
Tarzan

hmm... does that make more than 11? Maybe Aristocats doesn't count because of The?

Oh! And what about Dinosaur?

You can probably tell I like these kinds of mind teasers. :)
