I'm pretty sure the different lines don't open up at the same time. I vividly remember having to wait for my oatmeal line to open up while my son was already scarfing down his waffles. I remember feeling kinda cranky about that at the time. :o :lmao:

So I am not ues to eating Breakfast at POP,and I see that they start serving at 6am. So Is all of there Breakfast menu avalable at 6am?, I ask because when It comes to Dinnier they say there open to midnight but its not all there menuse Is avalable say after 11. So I am just wondering to the folks that have try eating that early If Its all open or just one area say the grill.

For the life of me I can't remember if everything was open, but I do remember having a good selection. The DW ususually sent me for coffee early and I picked up my breakfast and something for her to munch on at the same time.

wow I will def tell them. I will make that #1 then top floor facing lake. Do you think it would make any kind of difference if I do the online check in and dont like the room that I am assigned? Will I still be able to ask for something else?

We did online check in and had made the requests of

60's playdoh building
fireworks view
4th floor

What we got was
50's Lady building
4th floor
poolview

We asked the CM if where were any other rooms available that were what we requested. She was more then happy to look. We didn't like what was available so we kept what we had. We made sure to thank her for taking the time to look. It didn't take very long and there weren't very many people in line.

So Yes, you can ask for a different room if what you get through online check in isn't to your liking.

:cool1:Just book FD at POP this morning, It was a toss up btwn CBR and POP. I booked CBR when I called this morning at 7am then after some carefull consideration (and lots coffie;)) I changed to POP! I am saving $$ and will probably put it towards PH's:banana: I requested top floor facing lake, and connecting/adjoining rms thanks for all your help:worship:

Glad you got your free dining booked.

When DH made the original ressie he asked that the requests be noted. We did online check in but when we got there they had given us none of our requests so we just asked if they could be met. They only had fireworks view in the 50s Jukebox (we had that the year before and was looking for something different) and it wouldn't be available till late afternoon. We arrived at Pop at 7:30AM and the room they gave us was ready right then so we took it.

Sorry for the confusion!

The only time I get confused is when people are talking building numbers. For the life of me I can never remeber them. But if you say walkman building I know what you are talking about. :)

no, only a few openm at 6. I think it's more grab and go type stuff then. The first page might have more info on times

Hi everyone, I'm new here, so please forgive me if this has already been asked and answered. At this point, my reservation is for a standard room (because I've been told numerous times that the $$ for preferred isn't really worth it as the rooms are usually noisy and often just as far as preferred). I have 2 children (4 and 6) and would like a quiet space, but not too much of a walk, and a nice room (I've read that some of the rooms/buildings seem to be more run down). What building, area of that building and floor, should I request? Any thoughts and opinions from those of you that have stayed there before??? Any input is appreciated. :goodvibes

What are you looking for, That could hlep us a bit. I don't think any are run down and the resort is getting a refurb right now

I don't want too far of a walk (while some people say nothing on the resort is too far, others seem to think 80's/90's is pretty far), and quiet, so probably non-pool side. I'll be using the busses, so that probably makes a difference in recommendations, too. So far, it seems that the most highly recommended spots are: 50's building 1, 70's building 10, and 60's building 4 - all non-pool side. Any thoughts on these? I guess my first real question is: Do you have to walk around the buildings if you are on the back side, or can you go though them to get to Classic Hall or pools?

Well I stayed there last year in Ocotober and I didn't even think the rooms needed a refurb. I also stayed in the 60's section not perfered and the walk was minimal. I don't think there is a big walk from anywhere in pop.

If you want quite maybe ask for the 50's or 60's section not facing the pool. That is what we had and it was quite except for my neighbors they were just loud.:)

Along with everyone else Im wondering what building to request and hope for.
Currently we are paying for a perfered room, but after reading this thread, Im thinking that may not be a smart move.

Our travel dates are Aug 26- Sept 7th. Why I want a perfered room, is I have a bad back and last time we were out in the 90's and although that isn't really a long walk. But at the end of the day, every extra step is one I wish I didn't have to take:rotfl:

Im assuming Pop will be busy with free dinning. So there wont be a chance to change rooms, what you get is what you get. So what would you all suggest? Would you suggest asking for first floor? (although after reading the thread on snakes, Im not sure I could sleep)

Noise is always an worry, but if we are tired enough, it wont matter to us(or I should say I hope lol). We plan to go to bed late and sleep in. I know with the heat that isn't what is suggested. But this trip is more about relaxing and taking it easy and just enjoying WDW rather then hitting all the rides and shows.

Any ideas you all have would be great. Thank you.

Hello! I just got back from pop w/ some good experiences and some bad. First off we requested king bed and 50's section (and yes i know a req is just that I also work at a hotel). Here's the bad: When we checked in our room was ready and it was in the 80's section, no sweat hopefully it will be a king bed. We walked to our room which was about the farthest room you could be from the main building and not only no king bed but there was construction going on in the next room. Loud drills and hammers the whole works. So we called the front desk and asked if we could switch rooms and did they have any king rooms available? They said we don't let anyone have a king room unless they are handicapped I said well I know thats not true but can we have a different room as we wanted to nap and whatnot. So they told us to come on back. This is when they got rude....man on roving laptop sees us in line and says can i help? We tell him we want to change rooms and can he help? Tell him about construction noise and his reply was "it wouldn't bother most people". Well we say it was bothering us. He says he is not logged in to the system so we will have to talk to a rep at the desk. One opens up down on the concierge line she motions us down we ask for a different room possibly king? or else just anywhere different. She then walks away to talk to the roving laptop man and comes back 5 minutes later with will you be willing to change to a king room tomorrow night? Yes we say! Can it please be a handicapped room she asks? We say sure as long as it's not an inconvienance to any other guest, then again she walks away for 5 minutes. Keep in mind the laptop man could have rolled on down to talk to all of us...Then she comes back "fine you can move tomorrow night but you have to stay in 80's room tonight." No, I say I respectfully would like a different room not next to construction. She walks away again. 5 minutes later fine you can have a room in the 70's building. Thanks! After that both the rooms were great one in the 70's was nice and the king in the 60's section was great. My DH is 6'4" and in the double beds we can't sleep together it was just a great convieniance.

The next day when we re-checked in around 3 after Typhoon we asked will our luggage be in our room? The response we got was "I don't know I guess you will have to see when you get there". Not, oh you can check with bell service's or any other response that would have been less sarcastic. Ok, well it wasn't so hubby went back down to grab it instead of calling luggage services because we didn't have any dollars to tip.

Last day bought some stuff at gift shop, girl rang me up and bagged my goods and didn't hand me the bag just left it on counter, so I reached over and grabbed it and said thank you! Not one response from her. Now I know these are all things that are small and could be misconstrued but I swear adding them together and knowing that I wasn't making up the blatant lack of customer service was annoying. I am in this industry and I know that when customer service is perfect you don't notice it as much as when it's not, but these little things added up made a noticible dent in my thoughts about POP!

FOR ALL YOU WANTING UPDATES ON BUILDING BEING CONSTRUCTED THEY WERE WORKING ON BUILDING 8!

The good:
Food court was nice, ate some great fries, nachos, and chicken nuggets.
Door men were always very pleasant and even rolled our bags to the ME bus when we were leaving and got us on an earlier bus because there was room. There were always lots of buses at park openings and closings. We noticed 3 epcot busses lined up in the morning one after another. And leaving the MK they used two bus stalls for Pop people. However, both times we went to DD waited 30 minutes for bus as lots of others came for the parks. This was our first bus only trip, it just wasn't for us. We did love ME however, they even printed our boarding passes and put them on the door for us. Also when we did have a king room there was a fridge in it already and they didn't charge us for it. We loved the pools, the temperature was nice and everything was very clean! We loved the gift shop almost everything I found I wanted elsewhere they sold here, so I bought it all in one place. Love those mickey bake shop cookies!

I placed magnetic dis signs on my door the first night and when we returned to our room they were gone, how dare you steal my signs I worked to hard on who ever you are!

That is my two cents great resort, just some customer service issues. We have stayed 20 nights at ASMu the past two years and wouldn't hesitate to go back there, even though Pop ambiance was great, we were never disapointed w/ asmu. Thanks for reading and thanks for all the great info this thread provided!

Here's my opinion on 'good' locations that aren't preferred for those who've been asking. We have stayed in the 70s, 50s, and 80s in the past. The 70s (right above the Big Wheel) was our favorite, but that area is now considered to be preferred.

Our location in the 80s was wonderful!! We were on the top floor, in the walkman building, in the 'base' of the T, facing the 70's section. This area was SO CLOSE to the busses and was fairly close to Classic Hall.

When we stayed in the 50s we were similarly distanced from Classic Hall as the 80s, but quite a bit further from the busses. IMO the 80s & 90s side is a better option than the 50s side if you're going to be using the busses.

Hope that helps a little ;)

Hi, friends of mine stayed in the 70's building over spring break. When I asked, they said the room they were given was not newly renovated. I had read a few months ago that they were renovating the 70's. Apparently, they have not finished yet.

I think just one building in the 70s has been done
