Wow the new dressers do look smaller. I guess the hanging orginzers you can buy will come in handy. I can see putting smaller items like socks and kids clothes in them and hang it up in the closet. One good thing is it help to cut down on the un packing time. Leaving more time for the pool or parks. Or my personal fav, shopping. :)

I do this everytime we go! It is great not only does it give you more room to organize everything but it's a time saver for getting ready too! I usually put each day's clothing one compartment. Like our Mon. clothes in one and Tues. in another. That way I am not having to find clothes for everyone each morning, it's already done. I usually do it as soon as we check in to our room. I love having it all organized that way!!!

For four people i can see where room would be a proplem, but i can not remeber the dressers at POR(the only other resort we have stay at) and from seeing pictures from orther resorts that the dressers and storage space was any more:confused3. Me and and my DS kind of do a half and half,ok we are two guys so Its not that we put everything right where they will go anyway:rotfl2: but we use the suit case for our shorts because they are the cargo typ so they are the most bulky

Great idea about one compartment for each day.:) I like that idea. Im going to try that next time.:)

I think I'm going to have to be a little more organized this year. I may also pay for a 3rd suitcase for dirty laundry or clean. I think that my help. I just dont' want a ton of stuff everywhere.

Don't pay for an extra suitcase.

We move one/two person's clothes to the dresser opening up one or two extra bag for dirty clothes. Any clean clothes are put into a clean clothing suitcase to go home.

It looks like we'll be packing lightly this year so we have enough room! We'll take extra Tops and enough pants for each day then do laundry ! To save up space but we'll be packing extra hangers also!

Here's a picture of the new vanity curtain and the coat hooks which are handy for jackets or hanging organizers.

I guess I'm odd. Only in the past 2 years have I ever unpacked clothes out of the suitcase into drawers and then only a little. I jsut live out of the suitcase. I do laundry as well. I found it's not too hard to do, and saves on bringin so many clothes. I don't know how others do it. We only have gone 4-6 nights and even packing less, with allowance to wash stuff, we are still full in the suicase. I guess I need a packing 101 class. LOL!

Also don't pack hangers and take up precious suitcase space. you just call housekeeping and they will bring them to you.

Your picture isn't showing for me

I read somewhere that they put shelves over in the sink area....is this true? We will be turning our vanity into kitchen central for our trip! Im thinking of bringing some of the tall TV trays to use as makeshift shelves for dishes and stuff.....yes, Im "That" girl....I use the vanity sink for dishes!!!!!

Now that I have 10 posts, I can post links so here are some pictures of the new vanity area.

It actually wouldn't hurt us to pay 30.00 extra for the bag. Last year we bought so much stuff. I had to go to the lobby and send a box home. IT was only 17.00 but our suitcase were probably at the max limit. Then I don't have to worry how to get the stuff home.

I think I'm going to try to put each outfit for the girls down to the sock in a ziplock bag for each day. I think this will make it easier for me. Just in case I have to live out of our suitcases. Were going for 10 days so I will bring a outfit a day but no extra's. Just 2 or 3 bathing suits each. I hate putting on a wet bathing suit. My clothes and dh clothes should fit in the draws along with pj's and such. WE usually do laundry at the 1/2 way point. Because I only pack dh and I for 5-6days max.

Can I ask how many in your party? How did you manage with 3 draws ? We love pop but I need to figure out a system for the draw useage or lack of. I had a hard time last year with 6 draws. I see there is cubby's but that is where we put our extra stuff last year. Soviners ect where stored there.

Dh answer is just stay at a moderate. But I'm afraid I will miss POP.

There was 2adults/2children. My oldest DD & her DD, then me & one of my other grandsons. The 2 kids unpacked their stuff & used the 2 bottom shelves as their space, lol. This time I called for hangers & just hung all my clothes up & then shared a drawer with my grandson for undies & stuff. My dd had a drawer to herself & a hang up organizer. That left the bottom drawer free for snacks & such. So it worked out ok. Will think about doing the baggie things for kids next trip. I would have preferred a wall mount for the tv, freeing up more of the dresser top. I usually only have a big rolling type suitcase for myself & when unpacked, its put between the bed & wall & used for a night stand. Oh & we brought our on little fridge.

Sorry if this has been asked before, does anyone know when each building is scheduled for the refurb? Or when it is scheduled to be complete? We usually try to stay in the 50s or 60s and was wondering if anyone knew when they would be done? Hopefully all will be done by our trip in September.

no there is no actual schedule posted anywhere, but it is guestimated to be done by early summer

We will have a car, and will most likely drive to the parks. Except I believe I read it's faster to take the bus to MK. What would you say is the best building to ask for, if you want to be close to your parking. Can you face the parking lot and still have a nice view? lol I didn't pay for a preferred room.

Any info would help. We have never stayed at POP. Thanks!

I have a bad habit/boarderline obsession of making cutsom clothes for the kids. Dresses & little capris w/ ruffles don't fit well into ziplocks.

Just checked in online will be at Pop! tomorrow morning for the first time. We requested King bed and 50's section will let you guys know how that goes when we return on Thursday. Thanks for all the Pop info that helped me plan my trip:cool1:

Off Topic a bit, but it may help someone. When we were at WDW in 2008, it was a big trip(we were getting married at WDW and our honeymoon) so he had a ton of stuff and i did a lot of shopping lol We had two big suite case, everything fit in just fine. Our bell man asked if we wanted to have ME take care of our luggage and checked us in(we were new to all this) Anyhow, so he weight our bags. This is when we discovered that both our bags were over weight. I remember my mom saying she paid $100 for her bag being 3lbs over. :scared1: So I ran into the gift shop, bought a disney suite case and we paid for three bags to be taken home. :rotfl: It came out cheaper and we have a new bag.

My point it, we shop at Disney, so make sure you have the room and weight for what you buy. An extra bag isn't to bad and if you get caught, buy a Disney bag. Its kind of cool to have now. I would have never bought it if we weren't over weight.

I guess we will be living outta suit cases !!:rotfl2:
If you pack right, I don't see a problem with this idea. It's the ONLY way I've done it! WHY do people need drawers anyway? :confused3 Make room for suitcases! imho!

ITA! :thumbsup2

PACK a light-weight, collapsible bag and avoid ALL that!

On the Vs side, while I DO pack an extra bag, I also bought one, actually for free - with $50 purchase, and it's a Mickey ROLLING bag! Awesome deal! :thumbsup2

We always unpack our clothes and put them in the drawers. I despise living out of my suitcase. However, we roll our clothes when we pack them. It takes up much less space and you can bring more clothes that way. We have to unpack them so we can actually SEE our outfits! We use the empty suitcases to throw our dirty clothes in. The only time I've done laundry on vacation is when I've stayed offsite (my parents own Marriott timeshares). We could do laundry in our room and it didn't cost us anything. I'm sure we won't have a problem fitting out clothes into the new dressers at Pop. There are only 3 of us and summer clothes don't take up that much space.
