I eat a lot of shrimp when on cruises and scallops. I usually ask for a bowl of them without the sides when on a menu.

Would like the crab legs but to much work to get the meat out.

Love lobster but not on the ships. My dad was Cape Breton Nova Scotia so we had a lot of lobster but for some reason it was always cold like an afternoon snack not warm with butter. I love clams too even though they can be sandy . Give me some good clam chowder. Or a bucket of mussles.

We eat fish at least 3 times a week.

I am allergic to shellfish so if we go out for dinner and shellfish is on the menu I ask about cross contamination. We were in Aruba in June and like St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix, all fish and fried food (chicken strips, French fries, etc) are all fried in the same oil, so I ate a lot of salads with whatever protein main dish I was eating. There were a few places in Aruba that could not guarantee that even the grill would be safe from cross contamination, so we had to find somewhere else to eat.

I grew up in Cape Breton. Growing up we only got lobster when it was in season and we bought it from the lobster fishermen's shacks. We would cook it at home and eat it mostly hot, although leftover lobster is one of my favourite things.

I could live on fish and seafood. The only thing I don't do is raw oysters.

Love crab legs. We actually prefer snow crab to King crab legs. I often make crab legs at home when they go on sale at the grocery store. We don't go out for them too often. On the other hand DH likes fish, seafood, shellfish, sushi etc. He eats much more variety of things than I do.

Love it. Shrimp, crab, lobster, scallops, clams (fried only), swordfish (my favorite), salmon, tuna, tilapia, pollack, haddock, and cod, . I've had shark (tastes like swordfish), bluefish, and mahi mahi. The only ones I want no part of are oysters , octopus, and mussels. No raw fish of any kind, I draw the line at that.

I do not eat fish or other seafood. Don't care for it and also gives me an upset stomach/nausea when I try to.

I would be upset if I was somewhere and this was the only option. I do understand that when you are seaside that this is a popular item to have on the menu. But I would hope to see a couple beef or chicken dishes as well.

Back when we lived in rural Missouri I struck a deal with my Cousin that lived in Sitka. She had a ton fresh seafood (they would trade for) and I had access to fresh pork. She'd ship down a box of frozen shrimp, salmon and halibut and I'd ship the box back with pork tenderloin, chops, butts, ribs, etc. We kept that up for a a couple years, people loved my BBQ's. When I moved I told the guy at the butcher shop it would be my last order and he asked if he could do the same with my cousin, they continued shipping back and forth for 18 years! I really miss getting those boxes.

Yes those poor lobsters boiled alive. That was mom’s job. We got to go out to the beach and dig clams.

No oysters for me either.

So is the poll saying fish are only freshwater? Weird. Lots of fish in the ocean!

According to Webster, fish from the ocean are "seafood". And some people will eat seafood but not fresh water fish or shellfish.

I eat anything and everything from the sea. I do eat meat, but would be happy if I never had any meat the rest of my life.

LOVE seafood. Grew up in South Louisiana, and eat almost every type of seafood. Crab and shrimp are in my top 10 favorite foods, and crawfish. One of the only things I dont' eat are clams. Not sure why I dont' like them, but just like their taste. Enjoy just about any fish made various ways. Also don't really seek out raw seafood, oysters are ok, but not my favorite. Thankfully not allergic.

We eat it often, fresh or salt water based (one of my sons holds a commercial license & we live on a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay) got snake head, rockfish, crabmeat, snapping turtle & conch fritters batter in the freezer.

As far as an Alaska cruise having a fair bit of seafood on its menu, well I would assume that it would.

Your poll answers don't really work for me... I guess selective would be the closest. I have a shellfish allergy to both crustaceans and mollusks, but I do eat finned fish from both the ocean and fresh water. I very rarely can eat finned fish from a restaurant due to cross contamination concerns, and grocery stores are iffy, but I can eat frozen Kosher salmon, and one of the local fish markets is very careful about keeping finned fish and shellfish separate, so I can buy fresh fish there (locally caught) and prepare it myself.

Sounds familiar! I live in a coastal area and I can only eat at a few restaurants here... and even at those, I don't have choices. I can eat one single dish. It's frustrating. If I ever win the lottery, I'll open a shellfish-free restaurant in a beach town. Many people also don't realize there's risk involved even if you can eat one dish- how many people touch their food and then touch the bathroom doorknob? I don't touch doorknobs, ketchup bottles, etc. I've had skin reactions this way before (even at family holidays when there's shrimp.)
