Yeah!! Glen Beck was on Fox & Friends this morning, too.
SD, I hope you'll feel better soon. It's been running through our house, too. But, there's a lot a work with it so I'm not surprised.
I saw they got AIG exec's on video partying again.
I have mixed feeling about the Big 3. I don't see any way not to help them, but I feel like we are constantly throwing money to the wind, not just to them but all of them. My company filed for bankruptcy in January. It was not fun. We hope to come back out by the end of the year, which is better than projected. Now, ours did hurt people at the magnitude the auto industry would. I have to admit until listening to Glen, I didn't think about the re-tooling for hybrids that congress required of the auto plants causing a lot of their financial problems. I still don't see them being managed well so they would probably be in trouble regardless. Like it or not, if in this economy, a person can buy a Toyota made in the US vs a GM made in the US at a higher price, many will pick the Toyota.
I am frustrated at hearing people at work complain about our raises, though. Yes, they are low. No, they do not cover the increase in the insurance premium and deductible. I'm living it. I know. But, I have a job. I finally had to tell them that while I understood, we have had to lay off so many people this year in the US and Canada, and I believe overseas. I know one person in our plant told me a week or so ago that he and two others lost their current jobs but could go back to their previous jobs at a pay cut. No, they definitely are not happy. But, they are happy they did not get totally laid off. Maybe I should not have said anything to the people complaining, but I just got tired of hearing how bad it is when at least we have jobs. I wish it was better too, but all I have to do is watch the news or even look think back to our closed or cut back plants to see it can be worse. Heck, we laid off some in our own plant and they are mad that the insurance is going up. Ok. I'm sorry to vent.
Here's my flower to you for listening.
