I'm up. I did sleep, just not long.

Going off of memory of what I read before I fell asleep-

Z- Adorable pictures! btw cute Tink Christmas card too. That was a lot of cricut cutting. wowo!

Kat- Those cookies look like fun, but a lot of work. The party pictures where a hoot. Made me want to run downstairs and boil some eggs for deviled eggs!

Janet- I feel your pain. Been there, done that... nightly! I think we need to build them their own snore rooms. btw, thanks for the repost. I love that you decorated the air conditioner.

Jen- Get some rest:hug: We are here to hear all about when you are ready.

Ce- Did your DH get home last night?

s'late- Love the pictures!

To everyone else- Morning! I'm off to get ready to head to the airport. Ut is snowing again. Last night it warmed up to a balmy 4 degrees while I was at the Mall of America and Costco.

Oh yea, some jerk stole my spot while I was waiting to park. I waited until he got out of the car to drive away and I rolled my window down and yelled. Merry Christmas, hope what comes around goes around theif!". Not my brightest moment, but I did feel better. :)

100BookChallenge.jpg

Go Jimmy!!! WhooHoo!

Picture time!

Dude, you gotta Lotta trees!!!

I just read about a little girl named Hannah Garman whose dying wish is to receive cards.

I'll send one along. :wizard:

I'm up late. I can't sleep. We got news that Emilie is going faster than anyone ever thought. My heart is just broken. I can't believe she is dying and leaving her wonderful husband and 2 babies. Why! It is not fair. She is not ready to die. They need her.

So sorry, Jen. That is just so sad.

Morning, V! Thought I quoted you, honey!

****************************
Whoa! I was WAY behind! Finished shopping with the boys (for each other and for Bob) Wrapped for two hours last night while they all played games downstairs. I have a few things left to do, but not too bad!

I'm making some cranberry bread today. Then maybe some sugar cookies with the boys. Depends on how much energy I have.

I have to go pick up my mail at the PO. Yeah, you read that right. Because they haven't plowed the 15 inches or so of snow YET from a week ago, the mailman WONT drive through our subdivision. I haven't gotten mail since last THURSDAY. WTH?????????????? Do I live in Guatemala??? Seriously. :confused3

The good news is that my sis got her package so at least it made it for Xmas. It only took 9 days to go from Mi to Mass via Priority mail!!! Wow, you go PO, that's some FAST service, eh???? Argh.

Hope you guys are all well.

MEL:banana:

It was a box filled with little boxes.............and it had my favorite things............Disney ornaments..........Hokie earrings..........and Cheer mom jewelry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pictures? :confused3

I ordered a jacket for my Dad on Dec 8th and it hadn't arrived yet, so I decided on Sunday to check online to see if it had been shipped. When I checked the status of my order, it said "cancelled." Apparently they sold out of the size I ordered and the notification email they say that they sent to me must have gone to my spam filter. So, I have to find something for my dad now. Really wasn't planning on shopping today.:sad2:

Oy vey!

Hi Rachel, V, S'late! :wave2:

Once K gets home today, he's off until Monday.

Nice! :cool1: Mitch is working every day.

Oh yea, some jerk stole my spot while I was waiting to park. I waited until he got out of the car to drive away and I rolled my window down and yelled. Merry Christmas, hope what comes around goes around theif!". Not my brightest moment, but I did feel better. :)

We all feel like doing this but you had the nerve to actually do it. ;)

I have to go pick up my mail at the PO.
So much for the postman's motto. :sad2:

Mel, good luck with that! They always plow us days later too. I guess my developments taxes are peanut compared to the "other" properties in this city. We get the crappy plowers who have been plowing for days and don't know how to plow roads with cul d sacs and land divides.

V- Good Morning Princess!

Jodi- What a bummer! Was it a store that you can run to and they just MAY have it in stock?

Jodi- What a bummer! Was it a store that you can run to and they just MAY have it in stock?

I tried that last night, but it's an NHL jacket and since we don't have a local team, most of the sporting goods stores around here don't carry NHL merchandise. I just want to buy a Chicago Blackhawks jacket! ARGHHH!!!!!!

Oh well, I got him a few books and will look for something else this afternoon.

 Don't they know who you are! ;)
I know :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I got a package from my Secret Santa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a box filled with little boxes.............and it had my favorite things............Disney ornaments..........Hokie earrings..........and Cheer mom jewelry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Photos please!!!!

Ugh what a pain!!!!

 , but how much of an exaggeration???
Well I suppose we made 4 dozen so a slight over exaggeration of 96 dozen :rotfl2:

i hope so!! how could they forget you jo???? :confused3
do we need to make some phonecalls??:lmao:
It's all sorted now but thanks for the offer :rotfl2:

Morning, and hugs all around. :grouphug:
And back to you

We're having PJ Day today. Five bucks says I'll get antsy and find a reason to leave the house. :rotfl:
So how long did you last? :rotfl2:

Oh yea, some jerk stole my spot while I was waiting to park. I waited until he got out of the car to drive away and I rolled my window down and yelled. Merry Christmas, hope what comes around goes around theif!". Not my brightest moment, but I did feel better. :)
Yeah but you told him :thumbsup2

I haven't gotten mail since last THURSDAY. WTH?????????????? Do I live in Guatemala??? Seriously. :confused3
Wow that's ridiculous!

The good news is that my sis got her package so at least it made it for Xmas. It only took 9 days to go from Mi to Mass via Priority mail!!! Wow, you go PO, that's some FAST service, eh???? Argh.
That reminds me remember last Friday I got the big sleigh hamper from Disney! Well all the hampers were sent the same time via UPS yet I got mine before the Americans, how weird is that????

I'm shattered, the house is clean though and all the ironing is done. I hate this part of staying home for Christmas :rotfl2:

/
Then my friend's BIL's bday was today and she invited us. So we went roller skating. OMG!! I haven't done this in like 10 yrs and I forgot!
I felt so uncoordinated out there and I used to be so good. It was lots of fun even though I did fall once. I think we'll be doing it again and it's actually some good exercise. :tilt:

I have been ice skating lately, but not roller skating! Fun!

I'm up late. I can't sleep. We got news that Emilie is going faster than anyone ever thought. My heart is just broken. I can't believe she is dying and leaving her wonderful husband and 2 babies. Why! It is not fair. She is not ready to die. They need her.

Oh, no!

is it still snowing??

Nope. It was 3 when we got up this morning, but it's 18 now, and then it's supposed to be 43 and raining tomorrow.

Morning, and hugs all around. :grouphug:

Good morning, V!

Once K gets home today, he's off until Monday.

Woohoo!

Ce- Did your DH get home last night?/quote]

Yes, thanks. He met us right at the concert, maybe 3 minutes after we got there. :thumbsup2

Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail, right?

The good news is that my sis got her package so at least it made it for Xmas. It only took 9 days to go from Mi to Mass via Priority mail!!! Wow, you go PO, that's some FAST service, eh???? Argh.

This actually makes me feel better. I had to call the PO today because the package still isn't to TN, but it's only  been 8 days. I am livid that it's late, but I'd rather it get there in 9 (or more) days than be lost for good. :headache:

So much for the postman's motto.

Great minds... ;)

That reminds me remember last Friday I got the big sleigh hamper from Disney! Well all the hampers were sent the same time via UPS yet I got mine before the Americans, how weird is that????

Given my experience, not surprised at all... ;)

I'm shattered, the house is clean though and all the ironing is done. I hate this part of staying home for Christmas :rotfl2:

I need to do this. We're having the dinner with our friends here, and then now my dad is saying that "maybe if we get ourselves together we can leave on Christmas Day" which puts them here Friday instead of Sunday, which is, well, soon!

I am stuck home waiting for the oxygen machine delivery for Grandma, anyway, so... I need to get off the DIS! :rotfl:

The concert was cute - I'll try to get some video up later - and that was good.

I am hoping the machine will come soon so that I can get to the grocery without the kids. D's working from here, though, so I could probably go now - but then, I need to clean, too. And bake for the mailman, and for tomorrow night. Sigh.

See you all later - I do really need to get going! :grouphug: to everyone.

Wow that's ridiculous!

So, I went to the Postal Annex to pick up my mail since THURS. There were 10 people in front of me! I got to the window, finally, and told her my address. She disappears into the back and comes back with a stack of mail, and a box. Then she says, "You need to clear out around your mailbox."
OMG
OMG
I almost killed her right there with my bare hands. Are you kidding!!!!???
There's over a FOOT of snow on my street. Where am I supposed to CLEAR out? I can't even WALK TO IT. OMG.
My blood pressure must have been sky high.

I took my mail and left muttering. Seriously, what is their problem??!!

After that excercise in frustration, I went to the library took get some movies. And then to Kroger for enough food to last through Xmas. It's been snowing all morning, the roads are even worse than they've been. NO plows still. I told Bob, DO NOT ask me to leave the house again. For a long time!

I just got dressed and am about to head out. :lmao: I wouldn't be in such a hurry to go to Target, but they have a Starbucks there. :cloud9:

Be back soon. ;)

Yummy. Ok, see you soon.

See you all later - I do really need to get going! :grouphug: to everyone.

Hi CE! Hope you have a good day!

I talked to my cousin in Milford this a.m. and she said another storm is on the way and it's nasty. :guilty: She had to get off the phone to concentrate on driving. :scared:
She said her sons were happy that school was cancelled since they had tests on Friday.

Good Afternoon!!!

Awe! I just want to pinch those cheeks. He probably gets that all the time.

DH starts medic school next fall, so he won't be able to go in the fall like we did this year. We're looking at Thanksgiving week or the week before Christmas, but I'm not sure. Or maybe late May/early June, right after school gets out?? But then, that would be May/June 2010.... :sad2: I might try to slip in a girls only trip in there somewhere if one is planned!

The DLR trip hasn't been in our thoughts at all lately. Right now it's more of just trying to get through each day. I forgot to post this earlier, but MIL did not come home from the hospital today. Hopefully tomorrow. She's still very very dizzy when standing and can't walk much without a lot of pain, so they decided she needed to stay another day.

Sorry about the vacation schedule and the MIL.

Here's my ornament from Kat!

I'm going to go back track and read the thread and hope that I can fall asleep soon. My little "brother" flies home tomorrow AM from Chile. I need to leave for the airport by 9.

So stunning!!!

I'm up way too early today. The DDs got up early (as usual) and had a problem with the TV, so they woke me up to fix it. I'm seriously thinking about heading back to bed. But then I take a look at my house and all the things I have to do before Christmas Eve and think maybe I should just stay up.

Really wasn't planning on shopping today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

That's just great.:sad2: Good luck today!

Oh yea, some jerk stole my spot while I was waiting to park. I waited until he got out of the car to drive away and I rolled my window down and yelled. Merry Christmas, hope what comes around goes around theif!". Not my brightest moment, but I did feel better. :)

Good for you. What a creep!

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I'm a mess but the house is clean. I'm not going anywhere anyhow!

I have to get some hamburger cooked up for chili while we are gone. I need to figure out what we are eating tonight. Pizza or soup and sandwiches or breakfast. I'm thinking pizza.

Major announcement!!!
I have completed my TR!!!!!!:cool1: I wanted to get it done before Christmas and by golly I got her done. Now I can concentrate on catching up on all of yours!!!

I don't know if I'll make it back on here before I leave. I wish everybody a safe and Happy Holiday!! See you around the New Year!!!!

Afternoon :goodvibes

JenV, I am so sorry. I can't imagine the heartache. It's no consolation, but there are many people out here thinking of Emilie and her family. :grouphug:

And Jen, my thoughts are with you and Jon, too.

************************

Mel, you might as well have come down here to go to the post office. Minus the snow, they are all doing the minimum in SC.

I need a breakfast recipe. We usually just get danishes from the bakery, but I am thinking of baking something this year. Mel? Kat? Angela? Anybody? I need easy, bake ahead, and sugary.

I need a breakfast recipe. We usually just get danishes from the bakery, but I am thinking of baking something this year. Mel? Kat? Angela? Anybody? I need easy, bake ahead, and sugary.

I'm making Oven French Toast.

Here's the recipe:

One stick butter
one cup brown sugar
2 T corn syrup

Cook these three ingredients until it just starts to thicken and the sugar dissolves. It doesn't take long. Then, pour into a 9x13 glass dish.

Layer 6 slices of bread on top of the syrup (I use Texas Toast) and then layer another 6 slices on top of those.

Beat together 6 eggs, 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 tsp salt using a mixer or blender. Pour on top of the bread, cover with foil and put in the refrigerator overnight.

In the morning, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes (or until lightly browned). Flip the pieces over when you serve them so that the syrup is on top. Serve warm.

It's one of my absolute favorites!

Okay, we've got another ice storm headed this way, so I've got to run out and do some errands really quick. Gotta pick up a bookstore gift card for my dad (thanks to the stupid sporting goods internet site) and I'm out of laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent. Can't live without those!

I'll check in later! Hope everyone is having a great day!

I'm doing almost the same thing except:
1. I use soy milk, cuz we can't have reg.
2. I add a small container of fresh blueberries right over the top before I bake it.
3. I use two soft loaves of french bread sliced thick instead of texas toast.

Dawn that story was scary!!! I don't like that playground either, for that exact reason.

As usual, the rule is: WATCH your kids. If you can't because of layout, crowds, etc. then maybe you shouldn't do that activity.

JMHO.

MEL

YUMMY!!! The cranberry bread smells like heaven!!!! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Hi all!

Just popping in to wish everyone a great Tuesday! :goodvibes

I've got a client with a deadline on Friday. :faint: I've been warning them for the last 3-4 months about the deadline, and they finally e-mail'd me input and instructions last night...

You'll be seeing less of me here than I would like over the next couple days. :sad1:

TTFN!

Should I mention that we have 5 more trees up? :rolleyes1 Don't get too excited; each child has one and there is a small one in my bathroom and I made a palm tree in the kid bathroom. I'll post some more pics tonight.
