My plan is to have an update per day:thumbsup2 Anything to help my sick Focker friend:hug:

Thanks, Janet. I knew I could count on you. Now just don't get too busy here because I want to stay in third place!!! :cool1:

Hi, Jodi!

Because I wound up skipping, what's up? Did you see your dr. today? Did you get a surgery scheduled?   to you!

I'm scheduled for Tuesdays. She's going to do an open abdominal surgery through my old c-section scar, so that is good. Recovery will be similar to my c-section, so that is also good. The only bad thing is that we don't know what the mass is and we won't know for sure until it comes out.

:rotfl: This is apparently one of the top 10 cleanest lakes in the US. It's really quite nice. I've had fun there before. Maybe it was because I didn't have beer. :rotfl2:

Honey...always float with alcohol. :lmao:

We just should have coordinated better - my friend is my friend, if we'd said we wanted to get going, they probably would have. And everything was fun, it was just too much after getting home, immediately starting school, etc. ;)

I know. I was hungover from Sunday night, though, and we had only 2 beers in the house. :rotfl:

New Focker Rule -- NEVER BOAT WITHOUT BEER!!!!

When do those results come back? She sounds like a great doctor. :goodvibes

I'll try to get something up and maybe post my scrapbook pages for your entertainment. :surfweb: You can count on me!

I'm not sure when she'll get the results and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure that I want to know before the surgery. It's not going to change the fact that it's got to come out, right? And from what I've read, the test can be pretty inconclusive. I'd rather just not know, you know?

Sorry Dawn day sucked, everybody. I know I was supposed to do a question of the day and answer questions, but I just didn't feel like it. No seems to have missed it anyway. :guilty:

I declare Focker days officially over now that everyone's back. It was fun while it lasted, huh girls? :yay:

It was great! It was so fun getting to know everyone a little better! Too bad all the Fockers who were at WDW missed it! :rotfl:

I will be around some in the morning, but then I have to leave in case the guy comes from the fake cable call. K's going to stay here and call the police if he shows up.
I won't be back home until K says it's all clear or he's home for the day. :guilty:

Wait, what??? :scared1: See, I knew I missed good stuff today. :headache:

What can I do about this? I just can't believe the stories that are coming out of my child's mouth already and she's only 5.

So far as I know, my 6's aren't doing this, but I have a friend whose DD IS doing this, and she is mortified. I don't know what to tell you, but you're definitely not alone. I think it's just partly the age and the imagination.

 I'm sure it will be fine.

I updated tonight, just sayin... :rolleyes1

Gotcha. Well, many  for good tests.

New Focker Rule -- NEVER BOAT WITHOUT BEER!!!!

::yes:: I love it!

It was great! It was so fun getting to know everyone a little better! Too bad all the Fockers who were at WDW missed it! :rotfl:

Heck, yeah. I hardly think it's fair that I don't get a day... :snooty: :rotfl:

Jumping in because I don't know where I left off.

Dawn, you have a crazy cable guy? Oh, and please don't think I've forgotten to get your kids SC stuff. I'm collecting and will get your address soon. Heck, they might even get pictures of Hanna as she rolls into town.

V, I'll get those Michael Phelps pictures up soon. :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is doing okay.

What can I do about this? I just can't believe the stories that are coming out of my child's mouth already and she's only 5.

She was talking with her dad on the phone tonight. She prefers to put it on speaker phone so she can walk around and play while talking to him. Anyways, I was busy in the kitchen doing dishes and putting dinner away and only heard part of this conversation so I might have misunderstood it, but anyways...

L - Me, mommy and DR are moving.
D - Oh yeah. Where are you moving to?
L - Ohio doesn't have very nice weather so we are moving.
D - Is Pappy moving to?
L - No. Grandma's dead.
D - Yes, I know Grandma died. Is mommy buying a house with the money grandma left her?
L - I don't know.

And from there she changed the subject.

First of all I'm kind of ticked with the ex for even asking a 5 year old about money. (None of his business if I got anything from my mom and how would a 5 year old even know this???) Secondly, we are not moving and I have never even discussed moving (or buying a house) with my child. And third, I can't believe a story like that would come out of her mouth!!!

I know it's the age and it's tough to have parents go through a divorce. Especially with everything he has put the kids and I through. After she got off the phone I explained to her that we were not moving and probably wouldn't be moving for a while and that if we did I would let her know. And to please not make up any more stories.

But, what else could I say to her to help her understand that lying/making up stories is not a good thing. This really isn't the first time she's done something like this and I really don't want her getting into the habbit of it.

Also, thanks for letting me vent this out here and just letting me get this off my mind.
I think that what you told her was good. :thumbsup2

I'm not sure when she'll get the results and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure that I want to know before the surgery. It's not going to change the fact that it's got to come out, right? And from what I've read, the test can be pretty inconclusive. I'd rather just not know, you know?
That makes sense.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. :goodvibes

Wait, what??? :scared1: See, I knew I missed good stuff today. :headache:
I got a call on Sunday that our cable company wanted to come out and check my modem. They said it had critically low output and they were surprised it was working at all. So, I set an appt. for Wed between 12-4.
The next day I told Kirt and said I had never heard of them calling customers for appts. He asked me to call the cable comapny and ask them about it. I did and they had no idea what I was talking about. I called the police and they said all we could do was call them if someone showed up.

So, since I'm not going to be alone with the kids here, K thought it would be best if he was here and could "protect our home" and call the police if someone comes.

I'm so nervous about it all. K's saying all this bullcarp macho stuff about taking the guy down and it's got me about to cry. He thinks he's funny, but I'm scared he won't just get the plate numbers and call the police like we were told to do. :sad1:

Anyway... the kids and I are going for haircuts and to run errands tomorrow so we won't be here. :guilty:

I just posted about it for CE. It's got me stressed out tonight. :headache:

Oh, my! That's frightening. But you're doing the right thing.

Hey, in a vigilante related story, I don't think I told you guys about my BIL and his girlfriend...

They live in an apt. in Chicago, city proper. One day in July, her bike was stolen from their basement area storage.

They were ticked and filed a police report, but there's not much more to do - that was for insurance more than anything.

But she needed a bike, so they went on Craig's List and FOUND HER BIKE! So he went (with a friend. He is skinny and not intimidating) and made an appointment to "see it". They had called the police, but they wanted to use her as bait and he didn't feel good about that... So anyway, he "test rode" it, then said, "Hey, I'd like to buy it, but the problem is that YOU TOOK IT FROM MY HOUSE."

The guy claimed that he bought it off a homeless guy for $10 and wanted to turn a quick profit, but who knows? He gave it up without a fight, but now they're a little nervous because if he WAS the thief, he obviously knows where they live!

Thanks CE. That's what I'm thinking as well and I definately think that imagination of hers is just taking off.

Funny story...

The kids had gotten into my purse and taken my cell phone out and couldn't find it. I knew Lindsey was the one who did it because she LOVES to take pictures with it. Anyway, I told her that she was grounded from the computer until she found it. This is a horrible punishment for her because she's in :lovestruc with the computer. LOL

So, they go around the house looking for it but nothing turns up. Lindsey kept telling me she didn't have it, that I took it off of her and she had no clue where it was. I kept telling her that she was grounded from the computer.

She finally comes into me and says this (with a straight face mind you), 'I'm sorry to tell you this but Big Foot came and took your cell phone and dropped it in the toilet. I saw him do this and then he flushed the toilet and all I could do was stand there and say bye-by cell phone.'

I'm sitting there trying not to laugh and then she goes, 'Yeah...that's it. Big Foot came and took it.'

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

With that she went to the corner for time out and I headed to the laundry room to laugh. Do you wanna know what I found in the laundry room?

My cell phone!!! I forgot I had taken it off of her and hid it up on the shelf with the detegent and Spray 'N Wash.

So yeah...I really do think that imagination of hers is just coming to life. :headache:

Can I say how glad I am that I live in the burbs where I can leave my garage door open all night with the keys in the cars and find everything still where it should be in the morning?? Yes, I've done this several times and yes, I know I'm pressing my luck here. I need to make sure to always check the garage door before going to bed.

No, I hear you. The town where I grew up had 300 people, so we left keys in the car all the time (unlocked), my parents STILL don't have a key to their front door, etc. Even here, we generally leave a door unlocked for day outings, and when I had the kids, my BIL left every door in the house - including the garage door - open, but nothing happened.

I love Chicago, but have heard a few too many stories of robberies. Even the friends we were with yesterday had lived in Chicago prior to having kids, and they were arm-robbed inside their garage.

Um, no.

We do that too. My dad left his trunk open the other night and he has a bunch of crap in there along with his golf clubs. Nothing was even touched.

CE - jodi is right on the story :scared1:

Dawn - I hope the people don't show up at all and if they do that K can handle it and it gets reported to the police. You've basically have figured out they are not with the cable companty, right?

:goodvibes

:goodvibes That's sweet. I've been kind of 'bleh' lately. I was talking to a friend about it and she said maybe my body's finally normal again and my hormones are off. I may call the doctor if it continues. :confused3 :guilty:

Honey...I missed it!!! You should still do your questions!!!

Oh...and...

HAPPY DAWN DAY!

I just think that it's a phase that most kids go through at least once. I know we've discussed it here before. You are doing great all on your own! I think it's just important to continue to stress the importance of honesty.

Oh, my! That's frightening. But you're doing the right thing.

I do stuff like that all the time. And JOn turns my words around at me...because when he is wrong or hateful, I make him apologize. I give the whole "taking responsibility for our actions" talk. I always have to insert my foot into my mouth. And admit that I'm wrong. Dang it. :rotfl:

So, tomorrow is my first day of freedom. DD4 has preschool from 8:45 - 1pm. I've got an appointment at 9:45 am and then have to stop by the vet to pick up a prescription for the dog (liver levels are still too high). But otherwise, I have nothing to do. I'm trying to decide what to do. Any ideas? I guess there are some things I'd like to get done around the house before next Tuesday, if possible, so there's always that. What does everyone think? What should I do tomorrow?

CE - jodi is right on the story :scared1:

I'll have to come up with a picture of him - he doesn't LOOK like a vigilante. :lmao:

I HATE it when they call me on my own rules! :rotfl:

My "vigilante" BIL. I mean, I love him and actually think he's quite cute, but he's more, um, geeky, than a fighter.

Thanks Jen! :) And your right after I found the phone she was off the hook and I had to appologize but still stressed that it was not right to make up a story. I think she even told me that *I* needed to stand in time out. :rotfl:

:woohoo: I'm in the same boat as you. Linds will be in Kindy all day and DR is in afternoon preschool. I'm wondering what I will do with my time but I think I already have it planned out to hit the grocery store without the kiddos. My freezer and pantry are looking pretty bare and to have 2 hours of peace and quiet to shop and put it all away will be nice. Plus, I can then hide all the goodies and they won't be able to find it. :rolleyes1
