Thanks for all the hugs again, guys! You guys are awesome! The worst part about this is going to be the wait... but you guys will keep my occupied by posting updates on all the Focker trip reports, right?? popcorn::

Hi, Jodi!

Because I wound up skipping, what's up? Did you see your dr. today? Did you get a surgery scheduled?   to you!

No, it was just a long LONG weekend, if you KWIM. We had the neighborhood gathering at a lake about an hour away on Sat. That was fun, but a long day.

Sunday we had the cookout at D's coworker's friends' house - so it was pretty fun, but a little stressful as I knew no one but D's coworker, you know?

Then yesterday we were invited to go boating with our really good family friends - the ones we do all the holidays with, the wife is back to work as an airline pilot, as some of you may remember? Anyway, I hadn't seen her since the week school got out, so I was happy to go.

I just hate the way they "boat". :rotfl:

They have a nice little motor boat. When I'm on a boat, I like to GO. The wind in my hair, the bumps as we do waves, just the going.

Our friends go and park. :confused3 I wouldn't mind a little bit of stopping to swim or whatever, but here's what happened:

We were going to meet at the state park beach at the south end of the lake, because John (the DH's) brother was visiting, so technically we were one too many for the boat's capacity. There's a nice little beach with a boat lane where you can pick up/drop off passengers, etc.

So we got there about noon and it was just blowing nearly gale force winds. :rotfl2: The forecast had said 80 and sunny, and it WAS, but it was also probably only about 60 with the wind chill. Everyone had on jackets and pants, the kids wouldn't go in the water, etc., etc. We were watching the foot high waves (unheard of on this quiet lake) and the whitecaps and knowing we're not boating.

But, John, D, and the brother went to check out the conditions at the marina, which is on the exact other side of the lake.

They came puttering along after a while, saying it was perfect up on the north side.

OK.

So we packed everything up and drove up to meet them at the marina. It was probably 2:30 before we even got ON the boat.

I was hoping for an earlier evening, since we had school, many late nights, D had to fly this morning, etc.

So then we went 5 minutes away from the marina :headache: and parked on a sand bar. The kids were in about ankle deep water, so they had fun splashing around, but we just sat. And sat. Not deep enough to really swim. I waded for a bit. We talked, but Deb's BIL is not terribly social (in fact, her DH, his brother, thinks he probably has Asberger's, it's just not something that was diagnosed 40 years ago) and so whilst Deb & I were trying to have a nice little gossip, he was sitting on the boat with a towel over his head. :confused3 It was just a little weird and uncomfortable.

Anyway, after nearly 3 hours, John decided it was time to pack up. And we headed the 5 minutes back to the marina, when suddenly John & D decided it was time to water ski. At 6:00 in the evening. When all the kids are wet and cold and it's dinner time. Swell.

So they did, and then Woody got up, which was pretty cool! :thumbsup2 But we didn't get off the boat until nearly 7:00. No dinner, still having to drive 1 1/2 hours home.

So by then I knew we were really going to be late, so why not stop as a group for dinner? We stopped at a little diner we love, but it was getting pretty late and the kids weren't on their best behavior, and then we still had an hour to get home.

It wasn't awful, and I know I sound ungrateful for griping about a nice day out with friends, but it was just all a little annoying, you know? And if it had been Saturday and not Monday, I might have been better at going with it all, but it was the end of a long few days. ;)

Sorry, I just needed to vent that out. :grouphug:

Sorry you didn't have a good time.

I can't do lakes. Stagnant water and all. I'm afraid of bodies and crack needles. :confused3 ;)

:rotfl: This is apparently one of the top 10 cleanest lakes in the US. It's really quite nice. I've had fun there before. Maybe it was because I didn't have beer. :rotfl2:

Ugh, that's the worst...when you are at someone elses mercy and can't go/leave when you want. Sorry it was such a long weekend for you:hug:

Honey...always float with alcohol. :lmao:

We just should have coordinated better - my friend is my friend, if we'd said we wanted to get going, they probably would have. And everything was fun, it was just too much after getting home, immediately starting school, etc. ;)

I know. I was hungover from Sunday night, though, and we had only 2 beers in the house. :rotfl:

Did you write a trip report? I feel like I read a report by you! Was it very sweet and romantic?

Did I write a trip report :rotfl: . Why yes I did, the one in my siggy is my third I think, well it is a PTR. I would say some of the first ptr/tr was sweet, romantic - I don't know.

Here are links. I do have links to each installment and will warn you know I am long winded (which you will have witnessed by the end of this post):

Ace, Me, and the Guy with CP (first ptr/tr)

Happy Birthday Bill - The 3 Day B'Day Extravaganza

I didn't give the link to the PTR for the happy birthday one, because well it was a mess, we changed our minds so many times about things it was ridiculous.

Welcome to the madhouse.:goodvibes You are now our 4th Tracy. There is TE (our supreme leader) if you give her lots of these:worship: :worship: she will give you focker points;) , Disneyland_Mama who is known as T around here, and then boysmom5150 who is T2. Do you want to be T3 or do you want us to call you something else:confused3

BTW I'm Janet :wave2:

Hi Janet, well I will get the :worship: :worship: :worship: to TE out of the way right now. What are focker points ( do you have a brochure for the newbies?) You can call me mrsk, so then it will be less confusing.

Hello to all the other Tracy's and everyone else!

puggymom, that sounds like a mess. I hope it works out for you quickly. BTW, our dog Ace is totally in love with a pug, absolutely loves her. Her name is Lady Pug.

Hi again GL. Everyone here is so nice. :goodvibes

They took some blood today to do a tumor marker test that can possibly determine if it's cancer beforehand, but I don't think it's 100% reliable, so I'm not counting on that. Thanks for the prayers! I definitely covet them!
But my doctor is wonderful! She actually gave me her home, cell and pager phone numbers so that I can call her directly if I'm having pain. I'm so glad I waited to have her do the surgery!
When do those results come back? She sounds like a great doctor. :goodvibes

So, how does someone become a Focker? Is there an initiation? Do you have to be voted on? What is the criteria? :rotfl:
First, you post here..
Then... nope. That's it.
You can put the new Focker symbol in your siggie. Also on the first page there's an explanation on why we are called the Fockers. Eventually, you will say something dumb or a talent will become apparent and you will get a nickname for this. We post them in our siggies too.

Katt (with 2 Ts- not one) has a list of who's a focker and what their name/title is.

Hey if I get a drink after, go for it!!
Yep. She's offically a Focker now! :rotfl2:

We went to the lake with our friends yesterday. I need to get the boys in bed, but I'll post more about it later. :sad2: It was not my favorite day, even though I love my friends.
Ugh. Your day yesterday sounds stressful! It's good you got a little gossip time in, though. ;)

I guess I should introduce myself. I am Tracy, aka Mrsk. We live in Southern Illinois. I live with my wonderful boy friend who happens to have Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheelchair. He has a wicked sense of humor and introduced me to the wonderful world of Disney, now I am totally and completely addicted!!
I'm Dawn. I'm a homeschoolin' mom of three. We're in Texas and I think I'm the only Focker in the whole big state!
I talk a lot and I'm gonna get a crown for that soon! :rotfl:

Witchy poo is really an idiot.
What an idiot! I'm so glad you're getting away from her. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the hugs again, guys! You guys are awesome! The worst part about this is going to be the wait... but you guys will keep my occupied by posting updates on all the Focker trip reports, right?? popcorn::
I'll try to get something up and maybe post my scrapbook pages for your entertainment. :surfweb: You can count on me!

My plan is to have an update per day:thumbsup2 Anything to help my sick Focker friend:hug:
You're a giver, Janet! :goodvibes

Sorry Dawn day sucked, everybody. I know I was supposed to do a question of the day and answer questions, but I just didn't feel like it. No seems to have missed it anyway. :guilty:

I declare Focker days officially over now that everyone's back. It was fun while it lasted, huh girls? :yay:

Oh, honey, I just wasn't here. I'd love to know the answers.

And I've been AWOL today.. for some reason "Wal-Mart" does that to me...
I should have gone MOnday at 6:00 since I was awake at 5:00:headache:
I am not sleeping. Worrying about things and people.

I had a feeling you would "peter" out on us and not answer the questions.

:goodvibes That's sweet. I've been kind of 'bleh' lately. I was talking to a friend about it and she said maybe my body's finally normal again and my hormones are off. I may call the doctor if it continues. :confused3 :guilty:

I hope you feel better soon. Believe me, I was "bleh" all last winter, so I hear you.

I had way too many pages to catch up on today but I read a few back...

Jodi - Prayers and

Jen2 - Loved the pics! Addison is adorable! And whoever commented on surrounded by girls...we have that in our family as well. (At least on my side. Soon to be ex's has a pretty good mix).

Tracy, aka Mrsk - Hi! I'm Lori, SAHM and have 2 adorable kiddos. Welcome and it's nice to 'meet' you! :wave2:

CE - Sorry your night sucked. It did sound like a nice time but just long.

Dawn - HAPPY DAWN DAY! and  Sorry your having such a rough patch.

BTW, I am so loving this guy

Thanks

Maybe tomorrow will be better for all of us.

Gotta go... I've got to get things together for tomorrow morning.
I will be around some in the morning, but then I have to leave in case the guy comes from the fake cable call. K's going to stay here and call the police if he shows up.
I won't be back home until K says it's all clear or he's home for the day. :guilty:

What can I do about this? I just can't believe the stories that are coming out of my child's mouth already and she's only 5.

She was talking with her dad on the phone tonight. She prefers to put it on speaker phone so she can walk around and play while talking to him. Anyways, I was busy in the kitchen doing dishes and putting dinner away and only heard part of this conversation so I might have misunderstood it, but anyways...

L - Me, mommy and DR are moving.
D - Oh yeah. Where are you moving to?
L - Ohio doesn't have very nice weather so we are moving.
D - Is Pappy moving to?
L - No. Grandma's dead.
D - Yes, I know Grandma died. Is mommy buying a house with the money grandma left her?
L - I don't know.

And from there she changed the subject.

First of all I'm kind of ticked with the ex for even asking a 5 year old about money. (None of his business if I got anything from my mom and how would a 5 year old even know this???) Secondly, we are not moving and I have never even discussed moving (or buying a house) with my child. And third, I can't believe a story like that would come out of her mouth!!!

I know it's the age and it's tough to have parents go through a divorce. Especially with everything he has put the kids and I through. After she got off the phone I explained to her that we were not moving and probably wouldn't be moving for a while and that if we did I would let her know. And to please not make up any more stories.

But, what else could I say to her to help her understand that lying/making up stories is not a good thing. This really isn't the first time she's done something like this and I really don't want her getting into the habbit of it.

Also, thanks for letting me vent this out here and just letting me get this off my mind.
