Disneyland 70th speculations and news

But Paint the night is going away for the Holiday parade.......

I just wish Disney listened to feedback, from what I've heard most people think its fine or good but not the best version so weird to put aside the version people prefer more and also people want Holiday entertainment so sucks for them. the 70th is for 14 months they would have 12 other months to come if they realllly wanted to see that WOC
Oh, PTN is going, too? Darn. Maybe DL audience is still so tied to locals? Too bad for people hoping to see it. I purposefully avoided the holidays because I figured Christmas would take over some 70th stuff.

Re: whether DL can accommodate 2 parades at a time, if so I would love if we could have Magic Happens and PTN run on the same day. Would be a dream for me, two of my favorites. But I'm guessing there's either no room physically or in the budget...

Christmas Fantasy Parade is a daytime parade, right? We will be visiting for Dapper Days mid November and I'm bummed PtN wont be offered. I guess the silver lining is that Main Street may be less crowded in the evenings.
It is really nice at night

Not as great as PTN but on main street with all the lights...its pretty darn cute

Christmas Fantasy gets HUGE crowds as well, so don't expect it to be less crowded. And contrary to other parades, I think the second parade gets more crowds because it is slightly more magical in the evening.

I think Christmas Fantasy is a holiday tradition for many locals. It is a quintessential part of the holiday experience and a family tradition.

It is not my favorite parade but I didn't grow up going during the holiday season. I think it would be different if I grew up watching it.

I had a feeling the decision to return to it over continuing PTN might have to do with the local audience

Wasn’t there someone saying that the decorations for Christmas interfere with the height of PTN? Maybe that’s the reason?
They have run PTN during the holiday season before. But they didn't put up the garland to accommodate the height of some of the parade elements.

It is the garland across Main Street that would have to be skipped if PTN was to run during the holiday. Honestly, that would be a great trade off, IMO.
Oh sure, I am sure most would probably choose PTN. It might be too that they would have to double up performers. This way they can maybe transition the PTN performers to Christmas Fantasy?

I guess that just comes back to cost.

Oh absolutely. The garland is just the consolation prize if the parade doesn't run. I love love love the garland. But I'm deeply disappointed it looks like I won't get to ditch it for PTN.

It isn't just the performers. It is the people who prep the performers backstage, those that prep/manage the parade route, those that drive the floats, those that do it all in reverse after the parade, etc.

Thanks for the info! Apparently I am clueless. 😅

I was never a big parade person in the past, so I'm not too well versed. As I'm getting older, I'm finding that I don't need to zoom from ride to ride anymore, so parades are more appealing. Sounds like it's a great parade so that's something to look forward to...yay!

I know it wont happen....but also if someone like Walt was running Disneyland right now they'd move PTN to DCA

You could easily with that parade expand the park hours to make it work, plus the holidays are already packed and would somewhat help spread crowds out

I know its not happening but that could have also been an easy way to keep the show going all year

Are they able to do the parade with the festival booths? I thought that was part of why there is not a parade year round at DCA. A lot of viewing would be taken over by the food booths all over the place.

I mean they do the Mulan mini parade and they have booths. At most you'd just move them to make it work or add more of the items to restaurants in park which they do already but could add more items to those places to make space

I mean heck we still have Hollywood so throw some in there and get that place to get some more crowds

Last year they Pixar fest food booths and the Pixar parade at the same time.

They would have to remove the Frozen float and replace it with the Incredibles as they did previously. The same reason they can't do the PTN at Disneyland have the garlands on Main Street the Frozen float is too tall for the trolley cables.
