Hi for the first time today ! Worked late and then had to go to open house at Jr High for the girls. Steph is having a hard time she is scared '*** she doesn't undarstand the schedule among other things. Samantha is her usualnon chalant self ! Oh itis going to be a fun first few days of the new school!!

This job will be really laid back. I'm not used to that with the schools. Good news is that if I work about 15-20 hours a week I'll make 1/3 more than I made with the schools. Can't beat that.

I was just talking to a friend whose DH just started a new job 2 months aga (He worked for one compnay for 20 something years and given a force retirement). At the new place they even time how long you are in the bathroom Needless to say he is looking for another job

Hey, in a vigilante related story, I don't think I told you guys about my BIL and his girlfriend...

They live in an apt. in Chicago, city proper. One day in July, her bike was stolen from their basement area storage.

They were ticked and filed a police report, but there's not much more to do - that was for insurance more than anything.

But she needed a bike, so they went on Craig's List and FOUND HER BIKE! So he went (with a friend. He is skinny and not intimidating) and made an appointment to "see it". They had called the police, but they wanted to use her as bait and he didn't feel good about that... So anyway, he "test rode" it, then said, "Hey, I'd like to buy it, but the problem is that YOU TOOK IT FROM MY HOUSE."

The guy claimed that he bought it off a homeless guy for $10 and wanted to turn a quick profit, but who knows? He gave it up without a fight, but now they're a little nervous because if he WAS the thief, he obviously knows where they live!

Yeah... He's not scary at all.

Funny story...

The kids had gotten into my purse and taken my cell phone out and couldn't find it. I knew Lindsey was the one who did it because she LOVES to take pictures with it. Anyway, I told her that she was grounded from the computer until she found it. This is a horrible punishment for her because she's in with the computer. LOL

So, they go around the house looking for it but nothing turns up. Lindsey kept telling me she didn't have it, that I took it off of her and she had no clue where it was. I kept telling her that she was grounded from the computer.

She finally comes into me and says this (with a straight face mind you), 'I'm sorry to tell you this but Big Foot came and took your cell phone and dropped it in the toilet. I saw him do this and then he flushed the toilet and all I could do was stand there and say bye-by cell phone.'

I'm sitting there trying not to laugh and then she goes, 'Yeah...that's it. Big Foot came and took it.'



With that she went to the corner for time out and I headed to the laundry room to laugh. Do you wanna know what I found in the laundry room?

My cell phone!!! I forgot I had taken it off of her and hid it up on the shelf with the detegent and Spray 'N Wash.

So yeah...I really do think that imagination of hers is just coming to life.

Dawn - I hope the people don't show up at all and if they do that K can handle it and it gets reported to the police. You've basically have figured out they are not with the cable companty, right?

K doesn't think anyone will show up either. I don't what to think at this point.

So, tomorrow is my first day of freedom. DD4 has preschool from 8:45 - 1pm. I've got an appointment at 9:45 am and then have to stop by the vet to pick up a prescription for the dog (liver levels are still too high). But otherwise, I have nothing to do. I'm trying to decide what to do. Any ideas? I guess there are some things I'd like to get done around the house before next Tuesday, if possible, so there's always that. What does everyone think? What should I do tomorrow?

How about a gossip magazine and a nice, quiet lunch alone?

That's awful. Really now...what if you have issues? Are they going to say you can't work for them if you poop a lot?

I think after he gets a new job he should just go to the bathroom over and over one day and just annoyed the "carp" out of them.

It's really so ridiculous that they'd monitor people like that.

Hey...does anyone use Bare Minerals??? I need opinions...I"m thinking of using it.

and it's fabulous! It's the only make-up I've ever used that doesn't break my skin out and it has actually helped it. Plus it covers up blemishes and stuff VERY well and it doesn't feel like you have make-up on.

I spent the day watching movies, none overly good to brag about. Saw a nice adoption movie with Helen Hunt & Bette Midler called "Then She Found Me" and I'm watching "Smart People" right now.

My sleep is completely off too, which sucks.
The news is trying to scare people by saying that tropical storm Hanna might turn towards us, even though the cone doesn't really show it hitting Miami . I hate the news during Hurricane season.
Ike is looking skeery though and right behind that is Josephine...

They took some blood today to do a tumor marker test that can possibly determine if it's cancer beforehand, but I don't think it's 100% reliable, so I'm not counting on that. Thanks for the prayers! I definitely covet them!

I used to be a girl scout leader for aged 5 - 7 and one little girl had a story every week, one week her Mum was pregnant! I think it's just the age, so funny about the cell phone story
