whew, all caught up. I thought it would be time to go get Kelley by the time I just finished reading!
Now if I could just remember what I wanted to say back to y'all...
Lewski709 and
kadaten, great cakes! I made one for Chris' 4th b-day that was Oscar also. I put a wall of foil around it, with an upside down foil pie plate with a handle on top... voila' Oscar down in his trash can! I also have won a couple of gingerbread house contests (amateur division, of course) and some day if I find the pix, I'll post them. I know someone who worked a deal with a local shop that was only open for breakfast and lunch... she went in after they closed and used their commercial kitchen for her baking. Instead of paying for the use of the space, she provided them with x number of muffins, cakes, etc. to serve the next day. I have another friend who teamed up with an existing bakery to make a package where the person ordering the cake would also get a "themed" party box, full of props and games that were age appropriate and fun. For example, for a Batman party, she cut out Batman and Batwoman(?) masks out of fun foam, made little capes out of cheap shiny fabric, and had instructions for "Bat-tag" which was really just freeze tag where if they got frozen, they had to take their masks off until they were unfrozen again... and she had the plates, cups and napkins ... basically a party in a box. She had a list of standard party boxes (i.e. princess, pirate, mermaid, cowboy, etc.) and then for an extra fee would come up with specially requested themes like Wizard of Oz or whatever. You are so clever, I bet you could do it. Just a thought...
Bichon Barb - have a fun and safe camping trip. PD to the brake thingie and hope that Rob doesn't act too much like Pumba in close quarters like a tent!!! hee hee
I feel like I'm in a time warp trying to answer posts that are old and already forgotten in less than 12 hours time.
So I'm skipping ahead... if I missed any questions from anyone, ask again, or if I need to send PD to anyone, consider tons of it sent, with hugs attached!
You Brad Pitt lovers have fun at the movies today, wish I lived there too. I'd meet you in a heartbeat (preferably mine and Brad's beating together, actually.)
I rarely see movies so I am a boring lump in that line of comments... hmmm....
ROFLMAO! I read those cardboard things too at restaurants,
Barb! I despise being alone in a restaurant ... even the food court... even if DH just goes to the restroom for a few minutes. If I am meeting someone at a restaurant, I am ALWAYS a little late, or if I do by some weird twist of fate get there first, I won't take a table until my eating buddy gets there. I also keep a pad of paper in my purse, so I can take it out and look like I'm intelligently making a list of something critica if I have to sit alone. A movie by myself? Ha, I tremble at the thought!
Danauk - I LOVE bacon sandwiches. Thanks! I skipped the 'shrooms, though. I am assuming shattered means tired, right? Shattered to us means more like broken into little sobbing pieces on the ground ... total devastated. I hope it's that you're very tired!!! Enjoy that nap and I'll talk to ya later!
I'm going to do my 2 mile walk over the dam and back. When I got on the scales this a.m., I'd lost 4.5 pounds since last week!! SHhhhhh... don't tell my body. If it knows what's happening, it will rebel and snarf down a whole package of double-stuffed oreos...
hope to check in later after the Rugrats get home.
I just got the okay from the Disney rep to let my first batch of intro letters fly
