Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

those cabins are very nice, i would like to stay there sometime if we fly down, they are a good option for people with 5 in there family that would have to get a second room at most of the resorts.

Older two DSs have mentioned going back there since DS13 didn't get to enjoy it.:thumbsup2 DW was pregnant with him when we stayed in the cabins. The older two were 7 and 4 at the time.

They slept in the living room on the Murphy Bed, and they still remember me threatening to close them up in the wall. I would pick up the end of the bed and they would roll around giggling.

The extra room was great. We figured they would want to sleep in the bunk beds, but neither one of them wanted to sleep on the top one.

So true on the broken legs. I can still do that somewhat to DS13 since he is still rather small, but not like you can a toddler....:rotfl2: Probably a permanently damaged back if I tried to close them up in the Murphy Bed now.

I would love to stay at FW in a trailer someday. I don't know anyone who has one though.....It all looks so peaceful. Like you posted to someone else, the sounds you hear from the pool, the theatre etc make it all so nice......great explanation to Gemini Angel by the way.

Chapter 4. If you like it, buy it.

i forgot this picture in the last update, it is a site that was right by the outpost where the marina is...they had a huge caslte with snow white characters around it, a ton of characters and items in there RV window, and if you look closely you will see a disney movie screen in the back, never saw them play any movies but did not go by it every night.

We used up our first 2 CS credits will hanging out at the pool, we got 2 pulled pork pita sandwiches. They were really good, they came with homemade fried chips, drink of course, and for desert, we both got the frozen drinks, which were pina colada and strawberry daquire minus the booze.

parker had eaten in the trailer while we were setting up so he was not interested, and how could you blame him, the pool was waiting right behind us and he had his suite on for the last hour ready to go...so candi missed out on most of lunch, she was not that hungry, but she did enjoy some frozen drink.

we played up there for over an hour

going between the kiddy area, kiddy pool and the big pool with slide and repeat over and over where ever parker wanted to roam.

back to the camper to change and get for our evening travels, dinner was at WL but taking the boat there would be way to easy, what was our route, well here it is.

campground bus to outpost
bus from outpost to DTD
DTD water taxi POR
POR bus to Epcot
Epcot monorail to TTC
TTC to resort monorails
Resort monorails to Contemporary
Contemporary to Resort Boat lanch
Resort Boat lanch to WL

from 1 mode of transporation turned into 9 modes, thats how we do it in our family, and it was just for fun..also we had a few hours till dinner, and candi and I always have to ride the monorail from epcot to the TTC on our first day.
:thumbsup2

now that trip with pictures and stories.

here we are on the second leg of the trip from the outpost to DTD we had the bus to ourselves, this pictures shows parkers cuts on his knees from the other day when he fell running to candi.
DSC00754.jpg

also on the way, we passed the entrance which is right behind FW for the new four seasons hotel as well as where the entrance will be for the new homes that people can purchase and buy, they are going to range from like 1.5 million to 8 million dollar homes.

and the fire station, this is the one that is closest to DTD and if you look closely you will see the fire house that works its way around the building and into the fountain.
DSC01427.jpg

our stop is DTD, to look at a few things on our way through, as we are walking in,
DSC01428.jpg

there is of course the animation building with all of the drawings to your right hand side, wellwe notice a sign that says larry dotson art...it catches our eye,

he paints pictures of things all over WDW and then sells them. well on our last trip, candis sister was leaving Epcot after us and notices the art store there and larry is inside signing his artwork for people, so she buys a picture of the castle and he autographs it to parker so we had the castle artwork.

we go inside, and see him there selling his pieces. we were going to keep walking but i learned my lesson last trip.

Lesson learned(last trip): if you see something you like, buy it, you might not see it again on that trip and will kick yourself for not buying it.

so i went up and talked to him, and found out that he was getting ready to leave and would not be back on property until july 4th weekend.

i found the other four parks and bought those and had him personalize them to our family, now we have a complete collection and plan on going after other things of his next trip, like water parks, and resorts and such.

he was a very nice guy we talked for a while, so glad we stopped and bought these, they offered to ship them to the resort. but i declined, i did not want anything happening to them in transite since they were personalized by him and we would not be able to get another copy.

sorry for the glare, i took them after they were already framed

after this purchase we made our way to world of disney, too look at the new racer car series they have, it is the hotwheel cars made to look like different characters. we bought him the buzz car and pluto car, and my dad bought him the monorail one and disney bus one.

then we made our way to the DTD bus location to head over to POR

another lesson was soon learned.

Lesson learned: When your child drops a toy and you run over it with the stroller and drag it under the wheel and the top of it gets all chipped up and metal scrapped, even when you get mad at yourself for doing it, a child will still love the toy and want to play with it as much as ever.

i was so made at myself for doing it, he loved that buzz car so much holding it so tight and i was so furious at myself that i was almost in tears that parker was not going to want it anymore..that is when i learned and candi reminded me to look at parker and see how happy he was holding the car and how much he still loved it.

you can see me checking it over here, before candi told me it would be okay.

here comes our transporation to POR
DSC01434.jpg

the ballon in docking mode (which we road later in the week) have good pics and video from it.
DSC00762.jpg

and parker having fun with grandpa on the boat over.
DSC01436.jpg

if you have not seen the treehouse DVC now you have.
DSC01443.jpg

:goodvibes

then to Epcot via the POR bus system. and over to the TTC...we did get to see the new tron monorail...very cool looking, but do we like it when riding it?
will share that when we ride it later in the week.
DSC00773.jpg

we get aboard our resort monorail and start our trek around

see the MK and get excited to visit in a few days.

the completed bay lake towers which were under construction last time, and wonder if i will get in ther elater in the week.
::yes::

we get off at contemporary and go to the ground floor to hop on our boat to WL, butnot without getting our every trip photo in the mickey ears.

mouse ears not the best picture, have to look for another one, i think i am still running back to get in this shot.

dinner update will be next time with ketchup galor.

thats great, would have loved to see someone get folded up in there, i wonder if it would still close.
:lmao:

yeah i could see them jumping at you and tackling you to the floor.

I would love to stay at FW in a trailer someday. I don't know anyone who has one though.....It all looks so peaceful. Like you posted to someone else, the sounds you hear from the pool, the theatre etc make it all so nice......great explanation to Gemini Angel by the way.
you can come and stay with us sometime:thumbsup2

thanks jordan, i hoped it was a good description of the sounds.

:goodvibes

Great update! I like the way you got to WL!:thumbsup2 Impressive. I like that you really enjoyed taking your time, that you were not in any hurry. What a relaxing first day.

Not too shabby getting larry dotson to personalize your picture either...

I like your lessons learned.....nice touch for sure.

Wow, that's quite a route you took to WL! A great way to see a little bit of everything though. And I got all excited because I saw SSR in the background of one of your photos and that's where I'm staying in October! :woohoo:

I love the artwork! AK painting especially.

That is a riot how many modes of Transportation you took to get to your ADR, but at least it killled a lot of time for you all :goodvibes

Love the pics you bought. They are so vibrant :goodvibes

Joining in a little late. You've had quite a trip already and your only just getting to Disney. Can't wait to see what's coming up next.

Very interesting route to WL. But like someone else said, it was a great way to see so much on your first day.

Love the prints you bought. :thumbsup2 and the lessons learned for the day.

Wow! I'm glad that's not the normal way to get there. Hey, wasn't the WL right down the road from you guys?

also on the way, we passed the entrance which is right behind FW for the new four seasons hotel as well as where the entrance will be for the new homes that people can purchase and buy, they are going to range from like 1.5 million to 8 million dollar homes.

I recently read about those. I'm juuuuust barely priced out of that market.

the ballon in docking mode (which we road later in the week) have good pics and video from it.

the completed bay lake towers which were under construction last time, and wonder if i will get in ther elater in the week.

You are the master of suspense!

I love the art work! I like how you took your time getting to WL. It made it more of an adventure. The racer cars are really neat. My DH has a couple of the Star Wars characters.

Wonderful update! And I love it that your son still enjoyed his toy even though it was damaged. I guess as grown ups we sometimes become to obsessed with perfection and lose a bit of the ability to see things with our heart. Parker just was happy that he had gotten a new toy and that was what mattered the most! Very sweet story! :goodvibes

I also like your indirect way of getting from FW to WL. You could have even walked it! :lmao: I am great fan of the Epcot monorail, but mainly to go to the park, not away from there. I think it is the way every first timer ought to arrive at Epcot! :thumbsup2

Good point, Floss, on the fact that every firsttimer should arrive by mono to EPCOT!! I'll remember this for our trip with LeeAnn!

Dan! Great update! Taking Disney transportation just for fun, I LOVE IT!

I liked your description of Parker running from thing to thing at the pool too. Such a normal pre-schooler!

Love all of those pictures that the artist signed. I remember the one you posted that your sister had bought.

I think the more Disney traveling you do in one time the better. I almost did the same thing when we were in April. I was meeting my cousin and Aunt at DTD. I was coming from Epcot, so you know the drill I did.;)

I would have been upset with myself too if I did that to the car so you're not alone. Kids are so funny they don't care, it still worked for him so that's awesome.:goodvibes

it is nice to have a relaxing first day to get ready for the fun, and you get to do stuff you seem to busy during the week to do.

i was very excited to actually meet him in person, he is a cool guy very down to earth. we talked about where he could do a painting of FW, he said he has been struggling with it for a while to find something that would capture the whole campground, he told me there are to many places that are great to paint there he cant find just one.

thanks, that little guy will teach you lessons all the time if you watch for them.

love the art prints!
I laughed when reading about your numerous modes of transportation--great idea!!:goodvibes:goodvibes
it is fun to take the transportation there are many modes that people often over look, we did alot of transporation this trip just for fun.

Wow, that's quite a route you took to WL! A great way to see a little bit of everything though. And I got all excited because I saw SSR in the background of one of your photos and that's where I'm staying in October! :woohoo:

awesome, i like the resort, it is close to DTD and prob fun to hang out there at night.

the AK one is very detailed when you look really close at it.

That is a riot how many modes of Transportation you took to get to your ADR, but at least it killled a lot of time for you all :goodvibes

Love the pics you bought. They are so vibrant :goodvibes
yep and we got our costumary monorail ride in.
:thumbsup2

i wish i could have bought more of his stuff, the other paintings he had there were just as good and so many varities.

Joining in a little late. You've had quite a trip already and your only just getting to Disney. Can't wait to see what's coming up next.
:welcome: not a problem coming later, glad your with us. next we have dinner at WL, and then start our park touring.
:thumbsup2

Very interesting route to WL. But like someone else said, it was a great way to see so much on your first day.

thanks, very fun first day of getting around and getting pumped for the days ahead.

i hung the prints last night they look great with all 4 on the wall together.

Wow! I'm glad that's not the normal way to get there. Hey, wasn't the WL right down the road from you guys?

yep just a short walk down the fitness trail, or short resort launch boat ride over, could have taken 15 minutes tops if we wanted it to.

I recently read about those. I'm juuuuust barely priced out of that market.

You are the master of suspense!
me too, they said i was about 2 grand short of the down payment, guess i will try for phase 2. :lmao:

hey i gotta keep the people coming back for more, dont want to bore anyone.
:surfweb::thumbsup2

I love the art work! I like how you took your time getting to WL. It made it more of an adventure. The racer cars are really neat. My DH has a couple of the Star Wars characters.
they had a tone of star wars ones...we got a good amount of the regular ones for him.

good things was the campground had a special exclusive addition of the toy story cars, that we did not see anywhere else, it had another buzz, zurg, ????cant remember the 3rd one, and a woody car that you can only get if you buy the set, woody was not available anywhere else. we are saving that one for him for christmas, so he will have another brand new unmarked buzz car.

he also has another 3 individual cars that he gets for christmas, so his total will be 11 of those racers

yep he loves those cars, and it being buzz makes it that much better...yes we do, we dont always see the joy that a kid does for a new toy, and a toy that is theres, and they love.

that is true, the monorail throught the park would be an awesome way for first timers to see it...will have to remember that when we go back with candis parents, they have been but its been about 15 years,

funny thing is her mom keeps saying things like ohh well we did that before it probly hasnt changed and so forth, she doesnt understand how much things have changed since she has been, its going to be a shock to them when they go back.

Dan! Great update! Taking Disney transportation just for fun, I LOVE IT!

I liked your description of Parker running from thing to thing at the pool too. Such a normal pre-schooler!
disney transport is alot of fun, we love to ride it and talk to the drivers, they are so cool to talk to if you just take the time, and you learn alot of stuff that you normally would not have...like some info we found out about discovery island, and what some different codes mean, and other things along the trip.
which i will be sharing as we go along.

Love all of those pictures that the artist signed. I remember the one you posted that your sister had bought.

that one is really cool, you can see the deffinition of the bricks on the castle.

yep that little guy loves all things trucks, cars trains, planes, and he doesnt really car if they are not perfect, he will show us what happens to them, then go back to playing with them.

Loved your transportation adventure....that tron monorail looks really cool!
Can't wait to hear about Whispering Canyon....I am tagging along with Eric to a conference in August. We will be staying at Coronado Springs & since he will be in meetings during the day, I have booked the Backstage Magic tour for myself. Lunch will be at WC & I have never been so excited to hear about your experience.

Hi Dan, I am dedicating this afternoon to reading the last 12 pages of your TR. I cannot wait! Welcome home and I am sure I will be commentating as I read along. :surfweb:

I recently read about those. I'm juuuuust barely priced out of that market.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm about $100K short on those myself. Unfortunately, it is the FIRST $100K....... :confused3

Good point, Floss, on the fact that every firsttimer should arrive by mono to EPCOT!! I'll remember this for our trip with LeeAnn!
Been to Epcot many different ways but via monorail is definitely the best. :thumbsup2 I'll have to keep this in mind for first-timers in the future. ::yes::

This is a great idea! I'd steal it, but I'm not sure what I learned.

Whoa! I've never seen a pimple like that before! Except the night before the prom, of course.

Good first lesson learned. I'm still working on that one myself.

I always have the free coffee when I get an oil change....I didn't know they had string cheese when you get a tire changed.

You're caught in your own rolling Alfred Hitchcock movie.

Good for you! I ran once while at Disney, but haven't yet since we returned. (I probably should be right now, but here I am.)

Great start! Thanks for sharing it with us.

glenn, your comments are hilarious-I had a laugh over the looking at tires and eating string cheese too! You are very quick!
