Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

I have seen pictures of the black sand beaches very pretty
i cant wait i heard it is very very soft to walk in.

so funny..belle...i think you're right about Small Wonder...it was like a Saturday morning type show.......:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
they sure dont make the saturday morning shows like they use to. or the friday night family shows on TGIF, i loved those. that line up rocked, i think it was full house, family matters, and step by step, but cant remember the 4th show in that line up.

You are so right! I loved those shows! They were good shows that families could watch together. Saturday mornings used to have the best cartoons too. After school I would always watch Saved By the Bell.

Chapter 3. Look out, were checking In.

Its the morning of June 6th and we are ready to get to WDW already. we all awoke about 7 like always had a small breakfast and packed the camper up.

DSC01322.jpg

we were only about 70 miles away and a short distance from the campground we turned onto the the florida tollroad and started to see the signs for all the attractions in FL.

and parker got his daily gift of a new drawing etch a sketch thingy.

DSC00707.jpg

not long after we came across the signs that had our exit for disney.
DSC00708.jpg

and then turned off to the disney road.
DSC00709.jpg

when i rolled down the window to take the picture of the disney sign that not many people get, because this entrance is on teh west side of the property, it was so humid out that my lens fogged over, so i have to use my moms pictures from inside the truck for this one...it said dont pull over by the sign, but there was no one around so my dad pulled off to the side to allow us time to take the picture.

DSC01328.jpg

and a little closer.
DSC01330.jpg

we passed under the MK entrance to get to the FW campground, and noticed that they have to make the camper entrance a little wider for bigger campers, uppon entering the booth area at the entrance, my dad noticed that the rear tires of his truck (which are dual tires) are less than an inch on each side from not fitting through and being stuck under the welcome to the MK sign. but not to fret we made it through and soon saw the welcome home sign.
DSC01594.jpg

the sign on the right side and then the sign on the left side.
DSC00718.jpg

most resorts you park your car or get dropped off at the check in by ME not at FW you pull up like a drive in to your check in location. so thats what we did.
DSC00719.jpg

next candi tried her best jordan impression but got the tongue placement wrong, she needs to shift it a little more to the side
DSC00720.jpg

we pulled in about 9:00 and our site was not ready yet, they had some empty ones, but they were not cleaned off yet..so we had to park the trailer in the lot and wait a little bit.

i had another character call scheduled for parker this morning from mickey welcoming him to WDW.
DSC01339.jpg

then we were on our way to the main bus hub for the campground to ride back to our loop and check out what sites were empty....there are only certain sites we can fit on because of the length and the slide outs on the trailer so my dad wanted to check out which ones were empty to see the best location for us.

i loved the detail in the lights in the parking lot.

DSC00723.jpg

in case some of you have not seen a description of the campground layout, here it is
they have these signs around for you to make it easier to navigate where you are going. our loop is right in the middle where you see the big Meadow written.
DSC00726.jpg

on the bus on the way to our loop, we passed a small river by the group camp area, and saw a 4 foot alligator floating in the river, and then just down the way, we saw a family of 4 deer eating.

once we got to our loop we found the site we wanted pretty quick, it was great, only one flaw, which we will find out later in the week.
here is the lady cleaning off our site, they use big leaf blowers to get everything cleaned off of it then wash the sites down afterwards.
DSC00743.jpg

my dad went to get the trailer while we hung out checked out the pool area, they just redid it and added the kiddy area and the big slide to the main pool, as well as a hot tub, which did not get used much while we were there.
DSC00732.jpg

DSC00733.jpg

DSC00735.jpg

on our way back from the pool, we walked by chip and dales sing along which they have everynight, where they come out and hang with the children then there is a disney movie that plays.

DSC00739.jpg

DSC00741.jpg

pretty soon dad was back with the camper, and we were setting up our site.
here is a view from our site, that was right up on the waterway across from the pool and the sing along area.
DSC00748.jpg

and the other direction that was teh pool, we could see it from our back window.
DSC00749.jpg

so about a total of 90 minutes we had everything all set up and ready to begin the fun, but where did we go adn what did we do, wait till next chapter to find out.

lets see i did not have a lesson learned in this chapter, or did i?

ohh wait i did learn something.

Lesson Learned: while it stinks to spend the night just a short drive away before getting to disney...it is great to wake up on your arrival day and get there and have the whole day ahead of you to do whatever you want.

I always thought the girl robot was kind of creepy!

You are so right! I loved those shows! They were good shows that families could watch together. Saturday mornings used to have the best cartoons too. After school I would always watch Saved By the Bell.
I loved the saturday morning cartoons, garfield and friends rulled.

i also remember watching saved by the bell after school as well...great show, i still watch there reruns.

BTW...officially subscribing!:ccat:
:welcome: glad you joined us, and you have a new chapter that just got finished for you to enjoy as well.

yay....another update

We are going to Fort in September. That new addition to the pool looks great. Trent will love that

Looks like your dad picked out a good location :thumbsup2

Great trip report so far. I've lurked on some others too, and enjoy reading them. Looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

Ahhhh, my beloved FW!! That's the only place I've stayed on property so far- and still love it to pieces. So much wildlife, so much to do!

FW looks so pretty! I think I really need to stay there one day. It looks like a great place to stay at with kids. :goodvibes

Too bad Parker isn't more of a happy kid.

and a little closer.
DSC01330.jpg

This one's really nice. Your mom should have asked your dad to stay (illegally) parked there a little longer in order to get a picture with no cars on the road.

I love how Parker is standing in this one.

he might be a getting to where he is a little tall for the kid area, i think it is about 40 inchs but might be 48 so he should be good...he will love the slides.
if you are going with your parents they might like the new sites with there big trailer.

:welcome: thanks for coming out of lurkdom hope you continue to comment along with us.

you mostly stay in the cabins though righ? there actually is alot to do there, and of course it is cheaper than the hotels to stay. we loved the early mornings especially on the fitness trail to the WL was really nice early in the morning.

I think I would have freaked if I saw an alligator on property. I'm a big chicken though. ;)
his head came up and then went back down and swam away from the bus.
but you could still see his whole body really good.

FW looks so pretty! I think I really need to stay there one day. It looks like a great place to stay at with kids. :goodvibes
it is alot of fun the pool area has alot of activites all day long as well, every day they had crafts or some activity up there
dont worry if you dont have a camper the cabins are really nice there as well, and have maid service.

Too bad Parker isn't more of a happy kid.

yeah we need to work on his smiling, some more.

yeah that did turn out to be a pretty good picture, minus the car...at least it was less cars than the main entrance that everyone else uses.

I love how Parker is standing in this one.

its his come on lets get going already i want to run this way but they are making me stand this way pose.

Oh no, a teaser!

it was almost a we might have to leave a day early moment.
:scared1:

Always good to be looking at a full day at Disney.

Nice update. :thumbsup2
thanks glenn, glad you enjoyed it.

:thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1:Yeah we are at Disney:cool1::cool1:
Fort Wilderness looks great. I love that you saw deer there. Must be pretty peaceful for them to hang around. I have always wanted to stay in one of those little cabins over there & reading your report may make me have to put that on the list for sure-even though it's hard to pay for accomodations after becoming DVC members.
Ready to see what you guys get into on Day 1 at Disney.

well i have heard rumors that they might be working on some sort of DVC for FW, mabye by the old river country area.
:rolleyes1

it is usually pretty peaceful in most spots around there even during the day...one guy i talked to said every morning there were deer out behind the pool area that he watched.

Wow I am getting memories of the last time I was camping in 6th grade!! Except FW looks much better! I really want to visit there during our next trip because I've heard such great things about Hoop Dee Doo and Trail's End and other activities there :) I can't wait to see what you guys did!

late to the party but I'm here!

Lesson learned, when a tire blows on a vehicle dont tell your mother it was because that was the corner of the truck she was sitting on, especially if you are saying it where she is in shot and is able to kick you in the backside.

:rotfl:

Oh my goodness that tire! YIKES! So glad nothing bad happened.

next candi tried her best jordan impression but got the tongue placement wrong, she needs to shift it a little more to the side

Yeah, Candi needs to work on it. I look as ridiculous in my attempts.

Oh wow, you had a great location! What loop is that? I'm so excited to see all the things we never made it to (that we wanted to) at FW last year.

they sure dont make the saturday morning shows like they use to. or the friday night family shows on TGIF, i loved those. that line up rocked, i think it was full house, family matters, and step by step, but cant remember the 4th show in that line up.
Wasn't the other one the show about the two cousins? One was named Balki from a foreign country, the other maybe Larry....... :confused3

We used to love those Friday night shows. :thumbsup2 Brings back some fond and "painful" memories. DS20 was just a toddler then, about like Parker. Whenever he heard the music to Step By Step, he would come running from wherever he was in the house, and jump in my lap. I would pretend to be the roller coaster and jerk him all around like he was really riding it. Must be why he has never been afraid to ride the coasters.........and where DID my little boy go???

That's the one we normally pass through. Can't wait until I see it again.

DSC00720.jpg
Nice effort though! She needs to spend more time in Jordan's TR and practicing in the mirror. Tell her to get right on that!

DSC00726.jpg

Been a long time, but I think we were in the cabins in that first section on the left, "below" where you guys ended up. I remember it was a pretty good walk to the main pool, and an even further bike ride up to the trading post. We were near a bus stop though. It was a great place to stay for sure!

pretty soon dad was back with the camper, and we were setting up our site.

Great choice!

Woohoo for arriving at Disney! Though I think I would have freaked a little bit to see an alligator floating in the river!
