Um, duh, it's too hard for a girl to pee in a small container when I freeze someone's name in vinegar (so I have Mike do it).

Seriously, you must think I'm crazy. But, I guess this will just be one more skeleton to hide when I run for public office.

Barb, I got the same promotion from our Disney Visa on October 31. Will they make the bonus retroactive?

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.

I got to dad's after Ally lost her soccer game & both basketball games. We seem to be the only team that is actually playing by the rules in either league. Only all girls team in the supposed all girl league. Played a team that had three boys on the field the entire time. One of them spent the first half intentionally tripping the girls, ref did nothing so we parents made a couple of vocal comments that if he didn't stop we would stop him. He didn't do it at all during the second half. Oh and we had no subs either, por girls were beat.

The basketball league is here at home and I guess I am going to go have a talk with the parents that are running it to see exactly which bball rules we are following & which we aren't. And they wonder why the numbers of girls playing has dropped off so much.

Anyway, when I got there dad had almost everything packed up already. We spent about another 2 or 3 hours and were done. Of course all the crap is still there but it is packed. My sister or I will go out to meet them when they come to pick it up so he doesn't have to deal with them.

Unfortunately he isn't through. They only had the preliminary hearing to decide on temporary support/residences. His lawyer will go through everything and prepare what he is willing to offer then they will set a date to go back and fight it out. There will probably be a little more fighting to that part but it is looking pretty good on our end. Stinkin' witch should have taken dad's offer and not gotten greedy, she is most likely going to end up with a whole lot less.

So, thanks everyone for asking about dad & the situation. He looks so much better now. He had been worrying himself sick over the whole mess.

Jodie - I don't think you are nuts. I kinda like the idea. Hey, dh has a stupid elk skin in a trash bag in my big freezer, why can't I put in pee containers!:lmao:

Tricia - Loved the family pic. We haven't family pics for years, must be because I have been raising kids forever. :headache:

DH and the kids hand make our Christmas Cards, at least they have every year except last year (seems our trip to Florida for Christmas got in the way). They actually even hand deliver them to everyone that is close enough. On the inside they put in some sort of pic of all of us, the last several have all been pics from WDW in front of the castle or the Santa Sleigh at Winter Summer Land.

Katie - How did the team do?

Where did Gemma disappear to? She was here quite a bit & then vanished again.

Oh yeah, I finally took my old lap top in to Best Buy to get it worked on a couple of weeks ago. It had been broke for about six months, guess I kept putting it off because I knew I was gong to loose the pics from our Christms trip that I never made a disk off. Well it came back to me all in tact. All of my pics were still there. :dance3: :dance3: So I made disks last night and then spent the evening trying to upload to photobucket. Guess there was too much traffic last night, couldn' get anything to load. So I am up and loading them this morning! You guys are going to get bombarded with pics!

Well have a great day everyone!

Sorry I havn't been here...the 1000 mark is getting further away!! Will need a few hours to catch up later. Have been out a lot and will post some halloween pics! Was a good night but I got wayyy to sutpidly drunk...will need another hour to tell you the full story. haha. Hope everyone is ok! xxxxxxx

By the way, how's Carol doing with this round? Hopefully not as bad as the first

It is going better this time. She has been able to come home every day after her treatments. She went in for fluids and booster shot on Saturday, but still insisted on coming home. Yesterday was her worst day. She is so weak, it is frightening... but this should be the worst point and things should get better from here. She has an appointment with the oncologist this afternoon. I don't know if we'll know much for another week or two, but at least the scheduled treatments are behind her.

But Tues. is election day and no kids are in school! :woohoo:

Kids are out on election day? Is that because they use the school as a polling site?

Seriously, you must think I'm crazy. But, I guess this will just be one more skeleton to hide when I run for public office.

I don't think you are crazy. Whatever you can do on your own to make your world a happier place, I say go for it. I used to work with a woman that would write whatever problems she had down on a piece of paper and then she would burn it. She said it made her feel that she had taken a positive step toward ridding herself of the problem. She did the same thing with bad habits and stuff like that. There is something to be said for a tangible step toward improving an intangible situation.

Yes, it sounds like you need to have a conversation with some of the people in charge of the children's sports and question the rules and who they apply to. Don't you hate that? We're busy trying to teach our children to follow the rules and here there are grownups showing them that sometimes, for some kids, the rules don't matter. :sad2:

I'm glad your dad is one step closer to "cleaning house". I'm sure it'll be rough while the divorce settlement is battled out, but I hope that things come out in his favor. It sounds like step-monster deserves to get nothing.

Bombard away with the pics! It's great that you got the laptop fixed and all the pictures survived. You know that we LOVE pics here! Show us what you got. popcorn::

Good to see you checking in Gemma! We worry about you when we don't hear from you. That's what you get for making friends with a bunch of moms and responsible adults and... I'm trying to think of a term for Jodie... she's not a mom and she might be insulted at being called a responsible adult... she has cats, so surely that makes her a mom or a responsible adult... :rolleyes1

Mornin'! (doing my best Waffle House greeting)

Yesterday was crazy as it was Torture Day for the boys. Joshua was happy after the family picture because we took him to Toys R Us to spend his $3 Birthday Club gift card. He picked out a Pokemon toy. I still don't get the Pokemon thing. You collect monsters in these little plastic balls and "train" them to fight for you? Huh? :confused3

Anyway, this will be a wild and fully packed week for me. Joshua's birthday is on Saturday and we will do the big family party on Sunday. My oldest sister called me up this morning to say that since we couldn't travel down to her house (3 hours away in South Georgia) this weekend to celebrate my neice's birthday, why don't we just do it at the same time as Joshua's? Oh, and could I order another cake and maybe sprinkle in a few girly decorations so that she doesn't feel like the outsider?

Sure. No problem. I have nothing better to do. Did I mention that my neice is TURNING 19?!? Yes, let's not slight the 19 year old at the 6 year old's birthday party.

Actually, if it will save me from having to haul my family down to her house and blow a full day, I'm all for it. I don't think Joshua will care. He is a big hearted kid and will probably think it is fun that they are sharing the party.

Well, I'm off to Wal-Mart to look for some party supplies. Have a good day!

Oh, and Lori, I didn't see the race... but Brad is steaming about Jeff Gordon losing the points lead. It seems Johnson is on a roll. I'm still hoping Gordon can pull it out!

Tell Brad I am steamed too! The good thing is that we know one of them is going to win.

I am so glad that Carol is doing better this time. Tell her we are thinking about her even if she doesn't know us.

I have plenty of pics to share. Finally have most of them uploaded. Just tried to do some more but there must be too much traffic again. So I will do some more tomorrow morning.

By the way, I woke up at 5 FREAKIN OCLOCK this morning!:headache: No reason, just woke up. So I've got a lot done already today. May be draggin by the end of the day though.

Later everyone!

gotta tell you, this time change sucks!
I too woke up early :headache:

I just wish they would pick a time, either Standard or Daylight Savings and JUST STICK WITH THE ONE TIME.

for the moment------:rolleyes1

update on the writers strike-

if you watch any late night shows like Letterman or Leeno, those are current, daily scripts so they will go into reruns RIGHT AWAY

soap operas have maybe a month of scripts

television dramas will get to the end of the year, longer if they do the repeats

reality shows are NOT AFFECTED (dancing, survivor, around the world race....ect)

oh yeah, totally sucky news, if you watch
l o s t

they have only done 8 of 16 shows and the unveiling of that in February is totally affected.....:badpc: :faint:

why my shows???

Happy(?) Monday all!!

Kids have school today but are off tomorrow for election day. The teachers use it for an inservice day.

Not too much went on this weekend here. The usual stuff. Relaxing, cleaning up toys, watching football, loafing and cooking. Dh told me last night to see about getting a dishwasher for the house!! :woohoo: :woohoo: I wonder if he realizes that this would also entail going from a double to a single sink and a new countertop as well :confused3 :confused3 Our neighbor is also our plumber. He has worked on this house for ages (we moved here in 2005) so I told him this morningas I was running the girls to school that I have a job for him (at least want the estimate on the plumbing work that will need to be done). This will then force Jim to have the wall separating our dining room and kitchen to be done now too (why get new countertops without doing that job too, makes sense, right?) we want to take it down about halfway and put a countertop on it....that would open this room up quite a bit :thumbsup2

Went to the doc for a blood draw this am (yeah, I was supposed to get it done in July :headache: ) to test the thyroid thing again. So, we shall see.

Oh, the kids last night decided that they want to move to Florida :rotfl: Don't know what sparked that, but they were all gung ho until I told them that instead of seeing Grandmom once a week (she takes them out to lunch/light shopping every Saturday), they would probably only see her once a year. That made them quiet really fast :rolleyes1

let me go back and read up from the weekend, I will catch you guys in a little bit!!!

lol - poor penny!!!! rant away!!!

Barb: I'm trying to get a good one. I have one of myself but its really blurry. I'm gonna try and get ones from the kids.

Lori: The team did OK. It was more that we made it to the County Champs that was the important thing. But one week off until the Boys season starts!

Tricia: Yea, our kids always get Election Day off. We don't have polls in our school, and we have a Conference Day....not exactly fun, but no kids.

Well, be back on to chat some more later!

Penny - I'm with you. Pick a time and stick with it. Want an extra hour of daylight? Get up earlier. Want to conserve energy? Turn off a light. Stop messing with the little bit of sleep I get! :headache:

Oh, and the writers strike. The last one gave birth to the whole reality series concept. I don't think they counted on that. Now that the reality series have become so mainstream, it'll probably have less of an impact than it did last time... but, yeah, people don't like for you to mess with their tv schedule, so they'll get a settlement eventually. Most are expecting this one to last until spring. Want a good sweeps in May? Better put an offer on the table... but until then, I don't think anyone is going to budge.

Tracie - Sounds like a plan. Hey, if you're going to re-do plumbing and such anyway, why not tackle it all and only deal with the construction mess once? :rolleyes1

I'm back home and I feel like I spent a lot of money without actually accomplishing much. I mean, I know I got Joshua some new jeans (AGAIN... now that his growth spurts are fewer and further between, he just keeps ripping through the jeans like kleenex), and some party plates and such, but seriously... I have a $70 receipt from Wal-Mart and what I bought fit in 2 bags. :confused3

Hey Mac!

How was your day?

I still can't get used to your new tags. They're different colors and everything.

i know, it suxs big time.

still fretting about losing my "Universal is KEWL" tag.
i got that one when i only had 7 posts to my name....

It's like you've had plastic surgery or something. You know, you get used to seeing the same avatar/tag/color combo... and when it changes, it's just weird. It'll take awhile to get used to your new look.

Hi all-
Sorry haven't been here in days :guilty:
I've only caught up in some of the reading.
What's going on with me...
Halloween was ok. Went to my kids school Hallowen parade. THen I went home after that. An hour later, the kids came home from school and we trick or treated in our neighborhood. My right ankle has been hurting since Thurs morning. I think standing lopsided on the grass at school probably did something to my ankle. Maybe arthritis? I don't know.
Thurs was my grandma's birthday. I didn't visit at hte nursing home until yest. for her b-day, but called her for her b-day. She turned 92!
Yesterday(Sunday), we went to visit her at the nursing home. My mom bought a b-day cake. we were htere ,as well as my mom and dad. One of my cousins came by for a little bit. She brought her mom. Unfortunately her mom(my aunt)is in middle to advanced stages of alzheimers, so my aunt didn't recognize anyone and was wondering a little. Kinda sad.

Oh, forgot to mention, DH had an interview last week, with hte controller of this company. He is going on the second interview this coming Thurs afternoon! He is taking off of work a litte early for this second interview. Sounds like their are 3 peopletotal doing the second interview. Please wish him luck andprayers, too! I was hoping Dh was the only one doign the second interview, but it sounds like all 3 people are second interviewing.

ETA: the kids were off of school today-institute day.

Hope everyone is doing well!

just me ranting again.....

is it me or does it seem like
holidays bring out the worst in people????

I mean, some folks just want a little peace and quiet and celebrate in their own way.....is that so much to ask.????

Rose - I hope your DH gets exactly the job offer that he wants!:thumbsup2

Penny - It's not just you. :sad2:
