Porto's Downtown Disney Location

They going to expand all the way to the gates. That's huge and a dedicated table service? Santa ana is big and doesn't even have that.

Existed to save time driving if they have full service and order ahead options like other sites.

I feel like this thread needs to be renamed. Everytime I see it I get a sinking feeling thinking that the DtD Porto's has been cancelled (even though I've seen the title several times now 🤣)
Yes, @DonMacGregor would you consider editing the thread title now that the situation has dramatically changed?

Santa Ana? I think the biggest Porto's location is in Buena Park next to Medieval Times.

But a lot of people will be going to Porto's to just take stuff home. I'd hope they would still have counter service.

If you've ever been to the one down the way, you'll know how big it needs to be. Even without the cake side of the bakery, lines are.massive.

Really hoping quick order will be in play or their own pre-orders on their website.

Glad they are expanding this as the footprint was just too small for portos

I've been to Burbank and Northridge, and they are large, but maybe I'm just mis-measuring the current footprint at DTD in my head. Can't wait!

The former La Brea is going to be torn down to the foundation. The new Porto's building will be custom built for their requirements.

The new building is slated to one day house a Porto’s Bakery, an addition that was supposed to open not long after La Brea closed two years ago. With its famous potato balls and Cubano sandwiches, the Southern California chain has been a hotly anticipated addition to the Downtown Disney lineup. There’s no projected opening date, but the demolition of La Brea Bakery marks the first big step in the process.

Construction has begun.

In the image below, it looks like the restaurant will extend to the end of Soarin. The patio will extend into the esplanade where the ticket booths were. Personally, I think it will be a more attractive and open look for guests entering or leaving the parks.

Not sure if you have seen the fence that surrounds where the ticket booths will be removed and where Portos will be built. Here are some pictures.

This shows the corner of the wall and the proximity to the DCA entrance.

I know some people are upset that EOS is moving. Personally, I am excited that this area is going to be refreshed. I think it going to look so much nicer when it is finished.
