Janet,

Ohmy!!! Glad to hear that mom is doing better. ER docs are a bunch of idiots, really, most of them are interns anyway. They almost killed one of Jim's cousins a few years ago (she is only a year older than Jim and has a little girl/single parent)

Tell Mom we wish her well.

Marcie - No HEAT? Uh-uh. Not an option. My heater is running now and it's 56 out. :rolleyes1

Lori - We have a Sears, but I've never heard anything about a children's clothing guarantee. I'll have to check that out!

LOVE the pictures! More! More!

Barb - Enjoy your rare and much deserved day off! :goodvibes

Tracie - I considered moving to the Orlando area once upon a time. Brad & I will probably wind up in South Florida eventually. He lived in the Ft Lauderdale area for awhile and absolutely loved it. Heck, there isn't too much of Central or South Florida where he hasn't lived. I'm okay with a split residence when we retire. Fall, past hurricane season, through Winter is fine for Florida. Summer, when it is freakin hot in Florida, and hurricane season, not so fine... at least for me.

Janet - :scared: OMG! You told them she was allergic to penicillin and they still administered it by IV??? Then when she *surprise* had an allergic reaction to it, the doc asked if you wanted her revived???

I have no words. Really. I'm trying to wrap my brain around that, but I just can't. Thank goodness your mom is tough and pulled through. :grouphug:

1400 posts for me.....:cheer2:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Ummm. Can I just ask ... Where is Al Sharpton now? Where is his apology on behalf of Officer Cassidy and his family? I mean he is so quick to demand apologies. Imagine if their races were reversed; you know he'd be riding into Philly with his whole entourage.

We get Philly news here too. That is a horrible story. I am so saddened for Officer Cassidy's family. :(

Oh, but see... this situation has nothing to do with race. When it is a minority doing the wrong thing, that can never be about race.

What I don't get is how people can still believe that the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons of the world are really interested in racial equality. The NAACP and Rainbow/PUSH, etc. Does anyone really believe that they are the least bit interested in acheiving equality for the average minority American citizen? Their job is to perpetuate racial unrest. If they don't stir the pot, they lose the reason for their "cause". If they lose the cause, they lose the financial backing for fighting for it. There is big money to be made as long they can keep the sense of injustice alive.

Don't get me wrong. There are some good people out there who stand for good things. There are some bad people out there who do unthinkable things. But the guys screaming at me through the tv? Most of them just want donations IMHO.

Here's a few photos from Halloween.

Night started off nicely...

Got steadily drunker

and drunker

then had to be carried home by the boy across the road and put to bed!

Picture129.jpg

my lovely 'friends' and the boys decided that while I was passed out, they would put stuff on me including a suitcase, Charlie the puppet, Pip the fake dog, Tissues and a photo of them in my hand. Funny in theory...I didn't know any better...I was very trashed!

Also...here is probably the most tragic photo you have ever seen!! Apologises in advance! (Oh and this will be deleted in a few days after everyone has seen it because its sooooo bad!)

Picture106.jpg

Those are great pictures Gemma! It looks like you guys had a fun night.

Maybe your friends were just trying to be helpful with the stuff after they put you in bed. Some stuffed animals to cuddle with and a picture of them to keep you company and a suitcase on your legs to... ummmm... keep you from running around in your sleep? That's what friends are for!

HAHA Tricia, I think they we're just being fab friends. lol. Ohh forgot to mention...one of the lads from across the road set our fire extinguisher off in our kitchen!!!!

I would agree....but I've always wondered..... why do they call them "Reverends"?? :confused3 What church are they leadin'??? The 'racial equality when it's convenient for me' church? But, I do agree with your statement :thumbsup2

Gemma....nice pix...altho, (as a Mom) a little scary :scared: Costumes look great!!! Glad you had a good time....but, take it easy on the booze....don't want to damage your liver :rolleyes1 ...or worse

Barb - Thanks for the congrats!

What did you get at Wal-Mart? Electronics?

Picked up the very last Wii for co-worker of mine ;) ...not even for me!

My mom & I got lucky last month at Target and bought one. She's giving it to Joshua for his birthday. We probably won't see him for a few days after that.

(Seriously.....she's gonna be a hero :teeth: )

Thanks for the comments on the pics everyone. I will get some more posted.

Barb - The big trip was actually wonderful. It was my dad, my mother, my sister, her daughter & grandaughter, myself, dh, my 4 kids, soon to be ex-sil & granddaughter, my dad's aunt & uncle, their two boys & spouses & their 4 kids. We ranged in age from 20 months to 70. Everyone was on their best behavior & we had a ball. Much different story this summer.

Janet - Wow! I would be throwing an absolute fit. Hate to say it but going ahead and getting a lawyer involved is probably in your best interest in this situation. I can not believe they had the nerve to ask about a DNR!

Gemma - great pics. You all looked lovely. Gotta agree with Barb though, take it easy onthe alcohol. You are gonna ruin your liver.

Tracy & Tricia - Way to go on the posting!!! I better get busy before you guys catch me.

you got it!

The whole gang at Chef Mickey's!

The gang and Chef Mickey! (minus 2)

And what was that I said about the baby liking the characters??? Guess I was a little premature in that one!

IMG_3066.jpg

Ummm, Goofy she is only 14!:scared1:

howdy - thanks for the kind words, tried to explain to my mom that my internet friends were rootin for her...gave me the look you give to crazies:lmao: friends in a box, just add water:rotfl:

she's mighty wobbly, hope she bounces back & doesn't fall & break something, can't use her normal "cane" hand - too swollen...even DH is worried...what shall be, shall be I suppose. Had to go forth & buy one of those canes with a gigantic base to try & stablize her

still p.o'd about the DNR comment made sure i tracked down hospital "liasion" today...an investigation is ensuing

lori - fantastic family pics, CM rocks. Minnie hit on my then 17 year old son (we creeped him out later, said it was probably a guy;) ).

barb - ur coworker owes you big time.

gemma - u weren't kidding when you said you were being a vixen hope your buds didn't use a sharpie.

elmer - you probably posted it & i missed; did the family pic come out ok?

tracie - nice to watch kids on an "off day"

jodie - Wonder if Rev. Al supports the repartation movement? My MIL worked in Washington in bureau of indian affairs (her job was to document claims & payout - very weird system going on there). I hate when the race card is played:rolleyes1 although i've gotten a very small taste of racism from on-line folk thinking the screen name "keisha" represented my ethnicticity. :confused3

think i'll draw the deepest, hottest, bubble bath ever & hide.

Wow, Lori! Those are great shots. And I thought we had a herd on our last couple of trips...

...but you've got us beat by a long shot!

Janet - I can just see your mom. We're the Insta-friends! We live in the cyber world and pop up when you least expect us!

Our family pics came out okay. Not as pretty as last years, but it'll do. I'll have them back in another week or so and I'll post them for you guys to laugh at... er... I mean enjoy.

I know what you mean about experiencing discrimination. I went to a predominantly black high school. Yes, I was picked on and looked down on for being the odd white girl by some. Not by all. Certainly not by the majority. I guess that gave me the perspective that I have now. There will always be some idiots that make an @ss out of themselves because they feel they are in the majority of any given situation. That doesn't mean we should all be beaten about the head and shoulders with the discrimination bat. Call the jerks out if you spot them, but don't lump us all in the same pile. KWIM?

Gemma- love the pics.
:goodvibes

i cooked dinner, just took the garbage out, loaded the dishwasher, threw some old food out, and am headed to fold laundry.

i hate this time change and all i really feel like doing is eating pasta and sleeping. this is my feel like a bear mentality.

oh, and like 49 days until christmas.

I hate the holidays. i really do.
reason number one is from the other day: loads of idiot people do their best to act like dumb@sses during the period from thanksgiving to christmas.:headache:
they get this drive like an @as, be obnoxious like an @ss, think others have to do things their way like an @ss, and its all about me, me, me.....

sorry about the ranting bit.:surfweb:
i am just sick of .......
well, , dumb@ss people!

okay, shutting up now.
time for a happy pill or drink. ;)
