Hi Guys! Been a hectic couple days. Finally gave in on Friday night and decided to splurge and turn the heat on for the first time this winter. Only to find out that...the heat opted not to turn on. :confused3 Had to call someone on Saturday, which automatically tripled the price. For them to tell us the rotor (or something like that) wasn't "rotating" (again, something technical). They fixed it, but weren't optimistic about the furnace lasting much longer since it was 15 years old. Our last house was over 50 years old and had the original furnace in it (which worked fine). What, things aren't supposed to last as long now that they're "better quality?"

Play for DS this week so he's having a really rough week with practices until 8:30 each night Mon-Wed, then the play from 3-9 Thursday through Sat. Meanwhile we have WKCE (state) testing this week and next week, and in the meantime, the teachers are piling on the work. He'll probably sleep half the day Sunday and spend the rest of the time catching up on homework!

Sorry I didn't address anyone - I got too far behind now to catch up!

Oh, we got family pics done a bit ago when they did new ones for our church directory. I meant to post them - I'll try sometime! I'll try to find one of the last time we had family pics done too, which I think was almost 5 years ago, but only know where we have wallets and the big wall-sized one!

Greetings all..... (no, I didn't forget about y'all ;) )

Tricia.....only 5 more posts to go :woohoo: And Gemma...... don't think you're gonna hit by the end of the month....you gotta git movin' girl.....

HEY Macraven....how's ya been? What kinda trouble you gittin' into????

Rose....wish your DH luck for us :wizard:

Barb, I got the same promotion from our Disney Visa on October 31. Will they make the bonus retroactive?

As long as you "register" (either online or by calling the 'machine') all your purchases from Oct,Nov & Dec will count...if you read the fine print, it tells you it doesn't matter when you call to register, but the purchases will count! (And thank goodness "gas" counts, cuz DH uses a LOT of gas/week :rolleyes1 )

Lori...glad you got your laptop back.... i can't wait to lotsa pix!!! I think parents need to get involved if "boys" are playing on the team...what the heck? :confused3 And, we need to play by the rules, they are there for a reason...... Was glad to hear the packing is finished up....good luck in court. Glad to hear Dad is feeling better.....

Sorry I havn't been here...the 1000 mark is getting further away!! Will need a few hours to catch up later. Have been out a lot and will post some halloween pics! Was a good night but I got wayyy to sutpidly drunk...will need another hour to tell you the full story. haha. Hope everyone is ok! xxxxxxx

HEY!!!! You better get postin'....you're slackin! Less out partying and more posting...... Waitin for Halloween pic too.....

It is going better this time. She has been able to come home every day after her treatments. She went in for fluids and booster shot on Saturday, but still insisted on coming home. Yesterday was her worst day. She is so weak, it is frightening... but this should be the worst point and things should get better from here. She has an appointment with the oncologist this afternoon. I don't know if we'll know much for another week or two, but at least the scheduled treatments are behind her.

Glad to hear that...anytime she can be home is much better....ya just FEEL so much better at home!

I know how you feel to go to Walmart, spend $70 and have it fit in 2 bags.... :lmao: I can do the same thing!!! Did you try the Dollar Store? Sometimes you can find some interesting/neat things there (I always get the kids 'glo necklaces' in the summer for $1 ea) Oh, and as far as the 19 yr. old neice..... :confused3 BUT, if it saves you a day from driving down there, by all means, humor them

Dh told me last night to see about getting a dishwasher for the house!! :woohoo: I wonder if he realizes that this would also entail going from a double to a single sink and a new countertop as well :confused3 :confused3 Our neighbor is also our plumber. He has worked on this house for ages (we moved here in 2005) so I told him this morningas I was running the girls to school that I have a job for him (at least want the estimate on the plumbing work that will need to be done). This will then force Jim to have the wall separating our dining room and kitchen to be done now too (why get new countertops without doing that job too, makes sense, right?) we want to take it down about halfway and put a countertop on it....that would open this room up quite a bit :thumbsup2

Went to the doc for a blood draw this am (yeah, I was supposed to get it done in July :headache: ) to test the thyroid thing again. So, we shall see.

Oh, the kids last night decided that they want to move to Florida :rotfl: Don't know what sparked that, but they were all gung ho until I told them that instead of seeing Grandmom once a week (she takes them out to lunch/light shopping every Saturday), they would probably only see her once a year. That made them quiet really fast :rolleyes1

Oh yeah Tracie....the guys NEVER know that getting/replacing/fixing ONE thing doesn't mean ONE thing :rotfl2: Go for it...git er dun!!! For instance, when we replaced our windows....might as well paint the walls, get new window treatments, shampoo the rug...etc.... :lmao: If he is giving you an inch...take the yard!!! ;)

Hope the thyroid check goes well...DH does that every 6 mths too....

Once we told Bubba we planned to move to Fla...well, he got all upset and didn't want to go. I asked why, and he said he didn't want to leave all his stuff :lmao: We told him everything would go with us....all his stuff...then he looked as if he was thinking about it, but still decided he wanted to stay here? :confused3 I don't get it....either way, after he graduates, we are outta here

Marcie....that's a shame about the heater...you should get more than 15 years out of a heater???? Ours was the original in this house (35+ yrs) and we decided to replace it in the summer for more efficient-ness and it's like a fridge...something you don't let "die" before replacing......

Well, had soccer practice tonight...INDOOR!!!! Was warm except my @$$.....cold bleachers...why they make 'em outta metal, I dunno??? But, was nice to be inside for a change. Last 2 "fall" games are this weekend, but they are calling for rain both days and first indoor game is Monday sometime...we don't have the time yet......

Took Tuesday off work :woohoo: have a lot planned....but, we'll see what actually gets accomplished

Well, have a good night everyone :grouphug:

wow marci, you are about 3 hours north of me and we put our furnace on during labor day weekend.......!!

when i was in orlando, it was warm unseasonably in our area and then the furnace went off for about a week.

we don't do well in cold weather.....

hope all are doing fine tonight.

it's getting to that time we should have a homies party here....

Okay, I got motivated and scanned them in for you! Sorry they're different sizes!

Our new family photo. Yes, I know I look old:

And the pictures from last time:

The recent pictures were taken in July when it was near 90 degrees. The last batch was taken in January of 04 (so I guess only 4 years ago!), when it was 9 below zero that day! Slight difference! Oh, and our forecast for tonight says snow and 33! Yippee!! (Um, that was a sarcastic "yippee" if you couldn't tell!).

barb or jodie, could you pm me the phone number so i can call disney visa?
i have the card, got it day one when it started.

mr mac pays the chase cards on line and i never received the info on the specials, so i need to call.

he tells me when i owe money on that account.
it's one of two he won't help me pay on.

I mean, some folks just want a little peace and quiet and celebrate in their own way.....is that so much to ask.????

Do the terms "peace & quiet" and "celebrate" go together? :confused3 With that day off tomorrow, I plan to Christmas shop a little..... not much, but get a few things.... I love the holidays, but don't have the time/energy to prepare for them.... :guilty: I need more days or more hours in my days..... especially to make "Mommy cookies"....my boys love 'em! They literally eat them as fast as I make them...fresh, hot, outta the oven (even got FIL hooked on 'em  ) I love the holidays, but I know preparing for them is going to seriously cut into my DISing time here....:sad2:

Oh, I forgot to mention this: Wednesday night I planned to take Bubba shoppin for birthday gift for his good friend for his party Saturday (since outdoor soccer practice is no more). Welllll, school is having "Health Fair" that night, and (to entice the kids into going) his teacher gave the class an "extra credit" assignment to do if they go :guilty: So, guess we'll be going to that, and sometime in that time frame, go to the other school to pick up his fundraiser stuff :headache: I don't know who planned these events for the same night, time and at different schools, but I could choke 'em!

So, we were talking about the holidays....LOVE 'EM  ...prolly not enuf time to prepare for 'em tho..... :rolleyes1

Morning everyone! Yep I was up early again this morning. Not quite as early, got an extra 30 minutes, but I really have no reason to be up at 5:30 in the morning.

Marcie - I have no idea how many hours south of you I am, but it is a lot more than 3, and we have had our heater off & on overnight since sometime in September. You guys must be awful warm blooded!

Great pics. Eric's hair still just kills me.

Is it Stephen in the play? Tell him to break a leg for me! Tough schedule, hope he makes it through it okay.

Rose - Good luck to DH on this new job.

Penny - While in Shawnee this weekend helping out dad I noticed that the city already had there outdoor Christmas decorations up & ON!!!!! Could not believe they were turned on already.

Barb - Have fun today on your day off. I love the holidays too but am really bad about putting everything off until the last minute and then really scrambling to get everything done. Of course it doesn't help any that Ally's birthday is the 23rd & Chris's is Jan. 1st. Last year being at WDW for Christmas was fun but also way to hectic. I did all my shopping in Orlando on the 22nd after dropping dh & the kids off at the WL to swim before going to pick Chris up at the airport at midnight.

Of course we would have never done anything to the little boy that was doing the tripping but we made our point & it stopped. That's what matters. Ally coach scheduled outdoor practice last night for 6. DH told him it would be dark by 6, and it was, so we didn't even attempt to show up. We have two more Saturdays of games and it is over. She really likes to play so we will find a better league for her to play in next time.

Tricia - Do you have a Sears anywhere nearby? They used to ave a kids program where anything you bought was kinda like guaranteed. If they wore holes in the knees, tore them, or messed them up in just about any way they would repace them, as long as you were wanting the same size. They are more than Wal-marts, but not by a whole lot & free replacement was great!

Gemma & Katie - WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THOSE HALLOWEEN PICS!!!!!reat!

Hi to everyone I didn't call out. I'm going to attempt to post a few pics!

Here are some pics from our big trip (24 of us in all):

Mornin all....my day off has officially begun  Just sent the boy to skool..... And, Dad has his sneakers in his car :guilty: Luckily, I found a spare pair...good thing I don't throw 'em away right away....or else he'd been going to skool in cleats :rotfl2:

Lori...loved yer pix.... 24 people! :scared1: You are a brave woman!!! But I can imagine the fun with that many people

Well, off to start being "productive"... :rolleyes1

Hope everyone has a good day.....(& I'm sure I'll be poppin in here and there today....)

Yeah, I heard about that briefly.....not too much adult time on the tv in the mornings here :rotfl:

Jim sent his resume to a job listing in the Orlando Sentinel for Disney as an IT Manager :scared1: Guess he is serious about this moving thing. I told him we sell the house, sign a one year lease on a rental in Florida to see if its "for us".....he said "but I don't want to lose the equity in this house"....ummm....yeah we will get it up front there sport :lmao:

I have a house full of kidlets today.....my kids are off and the other little girl I watch is off school today too.....let's see if I can get some cheap labor out of them and get some stuff straightened up and cleaned around here :rolleyes1

yeah...his family bought him a bus ticket to Miami over the weekend, and he was sleeping in a homeless shelter when someone recognized his mug on tv...they called and he was arrested w/o incident about 6:30 this morning.....

So, thinking of moving to Fla huh... :scratchin ...I say go for it...why not?? being an employee of Disney??? hhmmmm......

Oh, and good luck with the "cheap labor" thing.... :rolleyes1

Ummm. Can I just ask ... Where is Al Sharpton now? Where is his apology on behalf of Officer Cassidy and his family? I mean he is so quick to demand apologies. Imagine if their races were reversed; you know he'd be riding into Philly with his whole entourage.

We get Philly news here too. That is a horrible story. I am so saddened for Officer Cassidy's family. :(

hi - hope you're well; off to work the polls for awhile today (vote early, vote often:thumbsup2 )

didn't get to read thru the thread (how about them Steelers?); just wanted to post my weekend

mia for a bit, mom got bit by her bad cat on hand, looked to be getting infected; took her to local ER very early Sun am.

ER doc said it was "massive infection" & her fingers if not her hand would have to amputated if she didn't receive penicillin immediately. Problem is, she's very allergic (can take cipro though)...informed doc; who replied it was that IV or nothing could be done for her.:confused3

massive reaction, BP down to 47/40; oxygen very low - machine bells blaring; no nurses in sight - had to go & grab one.:rolleyes1 Dr. had the nerve to finally re-appear & ask if she was a DNR:mad:

touch & go, finally regrouped & shipped up to ICU stepdown. Her family dr. appeared & kept stating to me & the nurses "the ER tried to kill my patient...I had nothing to do with it"

the hospital administration is hiding from me.(:

she's back home, shaken & stirred - guess she's a tuff old broad.

bbl.

I thought the same thing.... No denying this black man shot and killed a white officer in cold blood....he can't deny that...BUT he COULD come out publicly and offer prayers....but :confused3 (personally, can't stand the man!)

Sorry to hear about yer Mom ..... :grouphug: You outta know how tough she is! Here's hoping to a speedy recovery  ...and yes, you have to watch doctors in hospitals...they are for the money...whereas 'family' doctors in private practices actually 'care' about their patients ;)
Wish Mom well for us....and watch out for the MRSA :scared:
