We are in!!!!! GTY 11. which is what we were in for the last TA. Cant wait to meet up with the lot of you guys!!!!!

I've been lurking and checking my email every 10 minutes to see if there was any word from the TA - she just got back to me - we are in cabin #6641!

YAY and welcome aboard cruisers!

I just called DCL regarding airfare. It would be $1,038.22 from Washington, DC. I think that is a little high! DCL said I could add the airfare at anytime but I am sure if I wait the price will go up. I booked it. I feel if there is any delay it would be up to Disney to get me to the ship. I am also leaving on the 16th so I will have one full day in Barcelona before boarding the ship. Did anyone book hotel reservations yet? Disney is using two hotels Le Meridian and AB Skipper. Has anyone stayed at either place?

The price is high bc of the hotel the night before. They wanted $1500 more for the 5 of us to come one day before. I told them I would hold off for a day to talk to dh about it first. At least you have it held just incase airfares get any worse!!! :scared1:

Hi! I mentioned that I booked the "pre-night" hotel thru DCL and we're booked into the AB Skipper. The Castaway Club CM that did the booking for me this afternoon said that they started out with 5 hotels and that only 2 are left with open rooms in Disney's block of room - you're right, the Le Meridian and AB Skipper. I have no knowledge of the hotels; the CM told me he'd seen a picture portfolio of both hotels and they are very, very nice. They should be at $586/night (think the Meridian was $601/night)!! Ha Ha! Lacy

They better have gold plated toliets for that price! :scared1:

We are officially booked. My sister Annette(acourtwdw) and I. We've wanted to do this since the Magic made her first sailing. Can wait.

Your right about the price. The airfare I was quoted was only for airfare not including the hotel. The hotel was added onto my cruise total.

I looked at the hotels web sites and they both look great but expensive.

Hi everyone! Finally got the official email from the TA... :cheer2:

Johanna (renegade7) and I decided to be roommates for this cruise and the last 10 day Med so if we can both find a way to swing the $$ over the next 2 years then we'll get to take command of the RBD for 24 nights this time instead of just 15! :rotfl:

We're in 2631 on the TA and 5022 on the Med - wish we could have been in the same room, but I'll take 1 SPH over none. :thumbsup2 AND we got the best rate of anyone for the 10-day Med:

Trip Dates: 09/08/2010 to 09/18/2010
Cruise Type: 10 Night Mediterranean Cruise
Stateroom Category: 10
Stateroom Number: 5022 Map of the Ship
Dinner Seating: Second
Number of Rooms: 1
Party Description: 2 Adults
Cruise Price: $0.00 (All Taxes, Fees & Port Charges Included)

Bet nobody else got this kind of great rate from their agent! Don't I wish it was true!! :rotfl2:

Been lurking on and off all day :surfweb: watching the rollcall grow longer (okay, so I'm still not job hunting like I'm supposed to be) and I look forward to getting to know all of you that I haven't met already. TOAL #2, here we come... :woohoo: :woohoo:

oh and about the shirts- I dunno if we'll get them this time. But if not, maybe I"ll just take a marker to Jeff's one he already has. Think anyone will notice? HAHAHAHAHA

Hi Bip! I think I may have to agree with you about the shirts this time. Not that I don't love the shirts I got on the PC cruise, but if these are going to look 99% the same then noone will really notice if I wear the same ones. I do have to save every penny I can, right?

 Or just a suggestion, begging the pardon of the Captain and the supreme knowledge & experience he brings to the table in the category of logos and pirate-wear, would it be possible to alter the logos (this & the Med) so that they can't be confused with the EBPC logo we've already had? I mean, even the 3 POTC movies had 3 different pirate skulls: swords, flames, & bones...

So hopefully nobody will make me walk the plank for suggesting such a thing, but better now than before anybody actually starts ordering magnets, etc - and that could be soon! :rotfl:

Okay, so now that the "day of booking" saga is over, maybe I can get back to job hunting tomorrow... :scared:

Krista, no specific flight info. I called the Castaway Cay 800# when I added the airfare this afternoon. He was able to tell me the day we'd leave DSM and the day we'd arrive in BA. Our reservation (on the DCL site) says we leave DSM on 9/16. I'm guessing we fly DSM -> CHIcago then do a red-eye the night of 9/16-9/17 arriving in BA 9/17. Hotel the night of 9/17, then sale 9/18. If they have you leaving MN on 9/17, then it seems you'd arrive in BA on 9/18 and not have a night of hotel cost??? Lacy

Thanks for the info!! The extra day in Barcelona would be nice, but the hotel price makes me woozy!!

Krista

Hey Thistle - saw you a couple of weeks ago at the Beach Club with your beautiful dogs. Glad you booked the TA! I told you it would be coming up!!!!

Still haven't heard from my TA - Erik and I are both waiting and hoping we get the same great prices. Sounds like everybody did really great today. :yay: :yay:

Was this outside in the garden? Ya know, we heard from a very very reliable source there would be no repo! :rotfl: I mean this guy is very high up in the company, what a liar, liar, pants on fire!!!!!

I called DCL again regarding airfare. I got a cheaper($200.00!) price leaving from Norfolk, VA(I live in Williamsburg, VA) then Washington, DC. and return to Norfolk, VA on October 2nd! I am glad I decided to have Disney take care of all my arrangements then going thru my regular travel agent.

Karen

Yes Thistle - I am glad you remembered us because your dogs were adorable. Loved them all! I enjoyed talking with you. In a way I am glad your friend was not right because this cruise sounds fabulous! Cannot wait to see you again. We are officially booked on Deck 2 - no cabin number yet, but I am patient. I am glad to just be on the cruise but disappointed to hear about those hotels. I know some of the people from the Eastbound stayed at various places - maybe they can give us some hotels/apartments!!!! Looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next   months!!!

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I HATE, HATE, HATE, when DH changes "our" minds..

Bad News folks!! We will NOT be joining you anymore :worried:

DH decided "we" want to do the 12/18/2010 11 night Southern Caribbean cruise for Christmas instead.. :santa:

I hope you ALL have a wonderful safe fun cruise and maybe we will meet up on another one instead..

Great Kimmy and Johanna (renegade7)! I was on line by 8 and had room 5022 up to one point in the process until it said the room was "no longer available" so I quickly grabbed 5522 for the last Med...How funny is that? Melody and I are also doing the TA - we have a cat 9 room 2112 because the SP cat 10s were not available. I'm so excited to be on the ship from day 1 -with all the planning and conversations...Now have to get Melody on the Dis... :surfweb:

Karen- just hide in one of our rooms.
:lmao:
Seriously we wouldn't mind- think they'd find out? hehe
We had to book TWO rooms. I got the airfare put on and with the room the night before (we were able to book a cheaper room- AC diplomatic- probably not as nice but we just couldn't aford $1377 for 2 rooms in La Meridian or skipper for one night! They are on crack or something wanting that much for a room for one night. It doesn't even cost that much for a night in concierge in the Grand Floridian! LOL)
ANYWAY we added the flight and the hotel- and it still came out to over $1500 each. Ouch!
BUT.. it's just because we're coming from DFW for some reason the prices are higher. And when I looked online for JUST the flight (only) to Barcelona- it was $1506 up to $2000 pp. That didn't include hotel the night before, ground transfers, and it didn't include the flight back from Florida either. So we still saved some I guess.
Once the dust settles down a bit- I'm going to have them see if it would be a cheaper flight if we flew out from somewhere else. If the savings is like $500 per person like others are saying here on this thread- that's $2500 savings and would be worth it to like rent a vehicle and drive to another state if I had to. :lmao:

Yes, very expensive. 2 rooms for the 5 of us was going to be $1377! :scared1:

I hope I don't get a walk on the plank too- but I kinda agree with you. something slightly different might be nice. Or maybe ONE logo for both cruises also- that way we can get a shirt for both cruises if we want? I like the designs you showed too.
But if it's gonna look the same- I'm thinking I'll just let Jeff wear his repo one he already has and no one will really notice unless they like look really close and READ his shirt- which I doubt. LOL Any pictures (like group or something) he can just cross his arms to cover the writing that's different. hahahaha

YOU GOT THE ROOM I WANTED!!!!
THAT IS WHAT I GET FOR SAILING WITH PIRATES!

JUST KIDDING

I wanted the connecting SPH room but no worried. I really wanted 5022 & 5024. We got 5522 so it looks like we will be neighbors!!! "It's a small world after all"

Then we got 5513 for our 2nd room. I am happy with that. I would have loved 2 SPH rooms but I guess there is no reason to be greedy :) I am excited for a sideways 11. We went to look at one last cruise and they are HUGE!

I am thrilled to pieces right now to finally be booked on this thing!

The lady told me that I was her first call of the day and that there were 151 people in que about 5 minutes into our conversation! It is going to be a long day for DCL! I hope they brought in extra CM's.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

You got the room I had on the wb pc crossing! I loved it. Such a wonderful suprise to get a SPH. So jealous. We're GTY right now hoping for the upgrade fairy.

I was surprised that my price was lower also. But then I realized that included the 10% discount because I moved a dummy booking. What a pleasant surprise! It was only $4685 total for a Cat 6!
So excited to see you might be joining wendy! Tay won't be with me on this trip she has to be in school.

I was able to secure a stateroom for my DH and myself this morning:cool1::cool1: Was on hold for 40 minutes when I accidentally touched the 'end call' on my iPhone. UGH!!!!! Went right to the website and had no problem getting on and making our res. Wasn't able to transfer our 'dummy date', but, I'll try to fix that up later. All I get is a busy signal when I redial DCL:confused3 What's up with that?:rotfl:

We're very excited to be traveling with some old friends and making new friends too!
Yea! Vicki and Tom are in! You will be on every disney cruise that I've been on now. I'm stalking you! hahahaha...want to get in on a car to the airport with us?
DD and I are in 6060 (for now). I'm in the military, and we'll be moving next summer. If we are in the Pacific, there's no way we'll do this trip (we'll be too busy touring out there!)

But if we're stateside, things should work out.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi Wendy:wave2:

Remember me? We were on the Med cruise and on a couple of tours with you and J. How are you and are you still in Belgium? I hope we get to visit again on this voyage.
Yea..what she said!

Just got off the phone with DCL (wit barely any wait time). I decided to add airfare. It was basically $1,000 pp (with taxes included) to fly from LAX to Barcelona, transfers to the ship, transfers from the ship to Orlando airport and the flight back to LAX. Now that leaves out London and Paris but I am not sure I will get a better deal then this. I figure I have till 90 days out to cancel the air so why not hold it just in case airfare goes through the roof (not that it hasn't already :scared1:)!
Sounds like a great deal..tempted not to use my FF miles, but we want to stay a couple days before so probably won't.

We booked on-line early this morning - actually got in about 4 minutes before 7amCST. Cat 11, Stateroom 7619, early dining. After reading the excellent posts here, especially one from Brooklyn, I called back and added both air and the hotel (in BA, the night before the ship sails). We live in Des Moines IA and flying out of here is typically costly - we got r/t air (DSM-> BA; MCO -> DSM) for $990/pp. That's really good for a DSM departure!!

We were on the WB PC cruise in May and LOVED the sea days - so thrilled to see another cruise with a long duration! We'll PM Brooklyn to get added to the Roll Call - BTW, Brooklyn, your website is AWESOME !!!!!!

Saw earlier that TaysMom may be on this one too - Terry says to bring poker money and he's ready to win ...

Looks like a GREAT group - glad to be a part of it! Lacy and Terry

LACY AND TERRY! so excited you'll be on this trip. I look forward taking more of your money!

Brooklyn...sent the info..Website is awesome!

Okay so I forgot to mention that we were able to get 2 cat 10's for the 10nt med cruise before the repo--- for only like $750 more than we were paying for the cat 7 and cat 11 on 12/26/09. So we went ahead and did it. We'd have paid more in the airfare for that cruise than the $750 more we're paying- so it's still a savings in my mind AND a longer cruise! (12/26/09 was only a 7nt cruise)

For the med we were able to get 2 cat 10 connecting rooms- 7005 and 7007. Close to anyone? LOL
for the repo we still have cat 10 room 7507 and the other cat 10 is guarantee. Does anyone have rooms 7005 and 7007 for the repo cruise? Because they are going to TRY to eventually get the repo in the same rooms for us.. which would be impossible if someone is booked in both those rooms and doesn't plan on cancelling. LOL Otherwise they'll just try at some point to get the repo cat 10's close to one another and if they can't be the same as the med cruise- then we'll just have to change rooms- which will be a pain but I guess we gotta do what we gotta do.

Now I have to imagine being on the cruise THAT LONG! I mean the last cruise was amazing to be on it that long- this is almost double that amount of time and I hope I don't go crazy being on the cruise pretty close to a month with an inside room. Expect to maybe see me on the decks more this time? LOL

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I HATE, HATE, HATE, when DH changes "our" minds..

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that! I was worried my DH might do the same thing, but he's actually really excited!

Have a wonderful time on your Christmas cruise, I think that sounds wonderful! :goodvibes
