Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repositioning Repossession Cruise

Hi all........we had no intentions of booking this cruise....but I found the other prices so high and depressing...I couldn't pass this one up! LOL And even more funny is that I only booked DH and myself...no kids! We knew it would be too hard to take them out of jr. high and high school a month after it started...so now I have 2 years to figure out how to bribe gramma into staying with them!

So...for now we are booked on the WB TA and thrilled!
We also are trying to transfer our dummy dates to do back to back 5 day Wonder's in June 2010, which would give us 3 stops at CC...but the prices are just sick (IMHO), so that will most likely turn into 1 five day, not back to back's. (still waiting to hear from our TA on that one!)

Just got off the phone with DCL (wit barely any wait time). I decided to add airfare. It was basically $1,000 pp (with taxes included) to fly from LAX to Barcelona, transfers to the ship, transfers from the ship to Orlando airport and the flight back to LAX. Now that leaves out London and Paris but I am not sure I will get a better deal then this. I figure I have till 90 days out to cancel the air so why not hold it just in case airfare goes through the roof (not that it hasn't already :scared1:)!

CAn you add airfare after the cruise is already booked? Or do you mean you added it WHEN booking it?
i'm curious because that sounds like a great deal to me since all the flights I'm seeing (using 09 dates for comparison since I can't look at 2010 rates yet ofcourse) are 1500-2000 JUST for the flight to Barcelona! :scared1: (that's one way or round trip- but we wouldn't use the flight home from barcelona- we'd also have to book a one way trip from MCO to DFW too!)

So can we add this after the fact or only when booking it?

We also have our TA looking into the cost for 2 cat 10's for the 10 night med before this cruise... changing our existing 12/26/09 to that. The reason is -online it's looking like there isn't much price difference (between cat 7/cat 11 for 12/26/09 to 2 cat 10's for the 10nt med) and it would actually be a savings on airfare... since we'd only pay for airfare ONCE for the b2b cruises instead of airfare for the 12/26/09 and then the airfare for the trans atlantic cruise later. yanno? I'm hoping to hear back soon on that.

right now we have one cat 10 rm 7507 for the transatlantic... the other cat 10 is gty and we're hoping that at some point they can get the 2 cat 10's closer together or atleast on the same deck! I'm wondering how hard it would be to also get the 2 cat 10's on the 10nt med cruise to be the SAME rooms so we wouldn't have to change rooms?

I just added it this afternoon and I booked this am. So yes, you can add it now and take it away with no penalties up until 90 days prior to sailing.

The cost will vary depending on your origin city. I just called and spoke to the air department (877-566-0967) and it would be cheaper for me to fly out of San Diego vs LA. I am just worried that flying out of SD will cause more stops along the way. Going to way the cost difference with my husband tonight. So others cities may even be cheaper.

I figure it is a great insurance plan to have that I do not have to put any money out for right now. It is also nice knowing that traveling with younger kids that all the details will be taken care of for me and it does not even seem like it will at an extra expense to me!

Rates are subject to go higher so it is best to add it now so you lock in the rates!

OK....we were able to make a category upgrade from 7 to 6 (and get a "real verandah") for both the Med and the repo....so we took the plunge. We're now goign to be in room 6584 for both!

THANK YOU for all the info. I'm going to look into this.. maybe the flights are just expensive from here but I had heard from a friend this morning that she booked it -same as you with the flight/transfers and it was like $900 pp (just her). I thought that was pretty cheap.. and she mentioned something about it including a hotel for the night because they fly you in the night before? I thought that airfare with DCL usually flew you in THAT DAY which is why I've never considered putting flight with DCL before- I don't like cutting it that close. But if it was the same price (or cheaper would be nice LOL) as the flight would cost us on our own- yes it would be nice to have all transfers taken care of, know they'll get us on the ship- won't leave you if you're flying with DCL, right? I'm not sure. Anyway it sounds like a lot less stress....

We booked on-line early this morning - actually got in about 4 minutes before 7amCST. Cat 11, Stateroom 7619, early dining. After reading the excellent posts here, especially one from Brooklyn, I called back and added both air and the hotel (in BA, the night before the ship sails). We live in Des Moines IA and flying out of here is typically costly - we got r/t air (DSM-> BA; MCO -> DSM) for $990/pp. That's really good for a DSM departure!!

We were on the WB PC cruise in May and LOVED the sea days - so thrilled to see another cruise with a long duration! We'll PM Brooklyn to get added to the Roll Call - BTW, Brooklyn, your website is AWESOME !!!!!!

Saw earlier that TaysMom may be on this one too - Terry says to bring poker money and he's ready to win ...

Looks like a GREAT group - glad to be a part of it! Lacy and Terry

Yeah:banana:  Guess what Hubby and I are booked too :) We got a category 11 handicapped room. Yup we feel we won the lottery :). And no kids either :)

And such great rates :)

Bibbidy, when we added our airfare this afternoon, the airfaire price did NOT inlude the 1-night hotel (for the night before sailing). Our flight leaves DSM on 9/16, arrives in BA 9/17, we reserved the hotel for the night of the 17th, then we all sail 9/18. Get ready ... the hotel for 1 night (for the 2 of us) was $586. So, that's on top of the airfare (which I agree with everyone, seems pretty reasonable). Just FYI. Lacy

I do know that DCL sometimes sells out of bulk airfare space, so you may want to book it sooner rather than later. It can be canceled w/o penalty up to 90 days out.

Not sure if they hold the ship but she said they would route you to the next port to board there. I would hate missing the sail away but it is nice to know that you would make it to the ship if anything bad was to happen

We had 7619 on the last TA!!! DH & I LOVED it!!! Great location, no noise, it was wonderful!!!

Hi to all fellow travelers on the T/A. I am so glad to see so many familiar names cruising again together. Is this another TOAL!!!!!!! For me it is!!!!

They are already able to tell you what flight you will be on? Did you call a different number to find that out? I did notice on the reservations page it has us leaving MN on 9/17/08, but I am assuming we will be on the red-eye flight.

No kids for us either this time around!! It will be strange that they won't be with us, but they really can't miss two weeks of school a week after it starts!!

Krista, no specific flight info. I called the Castaway Cay 800# when I added the airfare this afternoon. He was able to tell me the day we'd leave DSM and the day we'd arrive in BA. Our reservation (on the DCL site) says we leave DSM on 9/16. I'm guessing we fly DSM -> CHIcago then do a red-eye the night of 9/16-9/17 arriving in BA 9/17. Hotel the night of 9/17, then sale 9/18. If they have you leaving MN on 9/17, then it seems you'd arrive in BA on 9/18 and not have a night of hotel cost??? Lacy

Wow for 2 that's so expensive!
I'm on hold with TA who is talking to them now. i couldn't added it to the booking myself since it was made thru my TA. we'll see what they say... I'd rather fly in the day of than fly in late the night before and pay that much (or more for our family of 5) for a hotel night!

thanks- I decided I'd take your advice on that and I'm on hold with TA working on adding flight.

Okay good to know. I figured they can't hold the ship HOWEVER long- that depending on how long you delay was that there'd be no way they'd hold the ship that long- but good to know that there is some guarantees that they'll get you on next port or something like that. I'd hate for that to happen though!
