Shannon, how can you just live with em.
Trust me, I have NO idea! Our friends literally dealt w/ this for the better part of a year-- even lived in a hotel for a while. What makes it even more awful is that they had their 1st baby in the middle of this issue, and ended up having to bring him home to a hotel rather than his house, and had to throw away all of the stuffed animals & bedding they received at baby showers. It kind of put a damper on the new baby experience!
The way they found out about it being the neighbors? She saw an exterminator leaving the neighbor's house and started badgering him. He told her that he had never, ever seen anything like the neighbor's house. The family is from India, and there are quite a few of them living there, so my only guess is that they haven't been here long enough to
A. realize that's not how the average suburban family lives in this country
or B. Just don't have enough $ to address the issue.
Either way, it's plain disgusting!
Shannon, I don't know how anyone could live with them!!! That is just nasty beyond comprehension to me. But, I can't stand any bug in the house. Hope Riley escapes the strep germ.
My friend still loves Disney, but she says she learned her lesson and will only stay on Disney property. It was one thing after another with this hotel. She came home and put all her suitcases in the shed until she could clear out the freezer then she put everything in the freezer. I don't know how long she has to leave stuff in the freezer, but if it works its worth is. I wonder if her luggage could have infested someone elses on the plane. That would irritate me. Thats another thing I checked out before I brought anything into our room just in case.
Thanks! Me too! He's had this lingering cough/wheezing for a few weeks, but he tends to get that for most of the winter. Dr. thinks he's transitioning from having viral asthma (only when he's sick) to just regular all-the-time asthma. And I hear ya on the kids washing their hands at school. I'm sure if it's done at all, it's the 2.2 second "rinse" that does absolutely nothing!
I'm glad your friend isn't completely put off on the Disney experience. It breaks my heart when people go and have something bad happen, and then never want to return! That stinks that she has to go through so much trouble to freeze luggage, but tell her my little story about our friends-- she'll realize that it's completely worth it!!!
