**July 2025 Check-in Thread!**

Day 3 (Friday July 4th). DH, baby DD and I did early entry at DCA. We rode Guardians then walked over to Cars Land via main entrance to Avengers Campus, there we saw the Great RD race to RSR. We thought we were watching the start of a 5k, lol. We joined the for RSR, the announced wait time just past 8 am was 90 minutes, the line was moving along pretty well so we stuck with it. We were at the ramp to the loading platform in 30 minutes, worth the wait for us. My older DD timed it just right and joined us at the loading platform. It’s been a long time since we rode RSR together, we usually ride Single Rider, that was nice. Afterwards, we rode TSMM, had our customary Churros before using a LL for Soarin’ and later a LL for Guardians again. DDs went to Animation Academy while DH and I had a mid-morning snack at Studio Catering Co. We split the Lomo Saltado Burrito, very delicious and filling but not heavy. After their drawing lesson we park hopped to DL, took the DLRR to Toon Town and rode MMRR, then strolled over to Blue Bayou for our 3 pm reservation. They sat us early and enjoyed the ambience of Pirates. We ordered the Rosemary & Sea Salt Brioche appetizer, DH & split the market fish (Sea Bass) and the Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad, older DD had the Cherry and Prosciutto Salad and a cup of gumbo, baby DD had the Pistachio Lemon Basil Pasta. The brioche wasn’t as good as the parker house rolls at Carthay Circle imo, but tasty with the butter and jam. Everything was tasty, baby DD said the Pistachio Lemon Basil Pasta was the best thing she ate during our trip, I guess I’ll have to find a mock recipe for it.

Afterward we headed back to the hotel to rest up before the Fourth of July fireworks show. DH and I visited the Broken Spell Lounge and I had a Apricot Vodka Cocktail, great blend of smokey sweet flavors. I’d like to visit when there’s live music, we seemed to miss that whenever we stopped in. We rested a bit before heading back to DL to stake out a spot for Celebrate America! Fireworks show. I feared we were too late in getting to the park to secure a spot, but we did find a section near Frontierland entrance of the Hub that hadn’t filled up yet and had a great view of the castle, phew. Though crowds were light the entire time we were in the parks, the crowd for this fireworks show was quite heavy. PTN parade passed in the distance, thank goodness for those very large floats. It was fun to see the Sleeping Beauty castle lit up with an American flag, and Not-So-Hidden Mickey Fireworks incorporated with patriotic music, Celebrate America! show was great. Crowds afterward to exit the park, not great. That really put off my older DD, who’s not a die-hard Disney Parks person like me or baby DD. She went back to the hotel while DH and baby DD caught the second WoC show, which they really enjoyed. Day 3 was our longest day, we all slept well.

Day 4 (late check out, Saturday July 5th). DH, baby DD and I went to early entry at DL. DD and I rode Peter Pan, then we went to RotR trying to beat the 8 am RD crowd. “This is the way” - Fantasyland to Frontierland route is THE way to go if you want to walk-on RotR. DH went ahead of us and was probably one of the first ones on the ride, he had a whole pod to himself! It took about 15 minutes for DD and I to get through the line to the pre-show. After we walked through SWGE, then DD and I rode Mr. Toad’s, then we all rode Storybook Canal Boats (shout out to Naomi our SCB tour guide). Afterwards we went back to the hotel, through DTD picking up more of the best new favorite snack - caramel popcorn at World of Sweets. We ate breakfast at Tangaroa Terrace, I had the ube stuffed french toast, DH and older DD had the Open-Face Lomi-Lomi Salmon Sandwich, and baby DD had theTropical Pancakes. The Lomi-Lomi Salmon Sandwich was stacked with smoked salmon, I think this was our favorite. We packed up our luggage, checked out, and headed back to DL to finish out our day. Older DD sat this one out at the hotel, exploring the other hotels and doing work on her computer. We rode IJA, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Tiana’s (Single Rider lane), BTMRR, SM and to close out our DL trip, a visit at the Enchanted Tiki Room. We said our goodbyes to DL, Mickey and Friends and headed back to the hotel to meet up with our older DD for late lunch at Tangaroa Terrace. We shared the rest of the other new favorite park snack for us - Chocolate Chip Cookies from Harbour Galley. We ordered the secret menu item again, Pork Belly Adobo Bowl, and the gyozas.

Overall, we had a magical time at DLH and at the parks. The hotel was amazing, Cast Members go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, the full Disney immersion is front and center. I miss it already. Let’s meet again at the castle!
