Supposed to be at AKL this coming weekend and with the damages of Hurricane Irene to the Amtrak rail system, I'm not sure we'll make it

Thanks for the prayers for my dad. It will take longer than usual to see any progress as it turns out his pneumonia was caused by Legionnaires. Fortunately they tested for it after discovering he became ill after arriving home from a cruise. They have him on several strong antibiotics, but it will be slow to start breaking up.

Continuing prayers. Did other people get sick on the cruise too? That is just so scary to hear.

Please add me to the list of those needing prayers. I had a biopsy four days before we left Delaware. Two days later, my doctor called to inform me that I needed a second biopsy asap. A friend in Florida recommended her doctor and tomorrow morning I'm having the procedure. It's been hard trying to enjoy my new life in Florida with this in the back of my mind. Up until now, I tried not to think too much about it, but ....

I'm so glad that I have so many friends here that keep me laughing and are always there to talk to.

Getting anxious for my first AKV stay...I only have a standard room as I booked in June, but I don't care. My kids are driving me nutso and I am taking my mom (although I would have been perfectly happy solo). Let daddy have the pleasure of the cooking, cleaning, running around and screaming ....I will be in Disney having the time (and drinks) of my life!!!

The last information on here was my post (page 209) about the August movie schedule. Here's the link to that post:

I'm not sure if the movies are year-round or just during the "busy" seasons. Each month AKL/AKV prints a flyer listing all the Activities for that month, which guests are given at check-in.

Hopefully, someone with an early September stay will post here soon.

Congrats! Don't say you "only have a standard room" -- you will be at AKL/AKV, and like you said: having the time of your life!!

WE are back from our WONDERFUL vacation !!!!
We had booked a "standard" room - but got a FREE upgrade to the main savannah !!!!!
We were in the second building to the right
looking from Arusha Rock : WOW !!!!
No need to say WE WERE DELIGHTED !!! From that on , our days were better and better !!! So MANY wonderful memories !!!

We even got to meet Laura , her DH and Tory , who is such a lovely young lady !! Marco and I SO ENJOYED their company ... and the ZEBRA DOME we tasted together !!!

We are now back to ... normal life , but we truly have to be gratefull : the whole vacation was a blast , we left Florida before the hurrycane and NYC ... after the earth quake !!! At home , we found our old parents in good health , we really feel blessed !!!


THOUGHTS and PRAYERS to everyone who is going through rough times ;I promise I'll keep you in my daily prayers .
