Warning.... this has NOTHING to do with AKL/AKV...

I have to post something before I explode... it will seem odd, but bear with me.

Bob burped today.

I told you it would seem odd. However, here is why I am excited: in order for a person to belch, the Upper Esophageal Sphincter (UES)has to open. The noise you hear is the vibration of that sphincter as air passes through it. The reason Bob cannot eat is that the UES is closed all the time. Or, it was.

YAY - that is wonderful to hear!

I am so glad that everyone had great recent trips! We can't wait to see some of you next month!
-on that front it was DD (4)'s turn to fill the "me box" at preschool. She had to fill it with favorites, activities she likes, pictures etc. So of course her pink minnie ears went in the box... so when I went to pick her up yesterday - guess what she was wearing? Yup the minnie ears. Guess someones excited for vacation...
-if I can't tell that story here - where can I tell it?

This is GREAT news! I don't know all the details of Bob's illness, but had no idea he couldn't eat. I really hope that this is a sign of further progress. It sounds like his recovery is really picking up!

He had a massive brain stem stroke in January and was not expected to survive. Now you know why I am happy most of the time!!

For the burp!!! MyBob burped earlier, and I was like, Really? That was gross!! But never realized it could be cause for celebration!!

YourBob burping probably is gross. MyBob's burps used to be too!

that is wonderful news...

So happy to hear that things are looking up for him! Pixie dust to both of you!
