Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Dead, hug, and my beloved late grandma from Heaven is looking down on you with a smile. She LOVED Reese's! I hope you enjoyed yours.

Dear Lynn, I am also so grateful you have Dave in your life. He absolutely sounds like a wonderful friend and handyman, too. Please send me some of your sunshine! Definitely enjoy it my friend,

Footballmouse, you please be well of course too. How are baby Mia doing and Remy the cat?

Thanks dear Bobbi so much. I am so grateful PT went well and that you have an outing tomorrow may it be fun. How is Tom?

I did call City Hall Social Services earlier and am waiting to be contacted back by an agency who may have some suggestions. In the meantime, I also reached out to and emailed at the recommendation of their office staff, two neighborhood churches for any ideas they may have and prayers, of course, too. I will keep trying other options as the day goes on. God willing I will have a positive update to share later. Thank you all always for your prayers, belief in me, and loving support!

Good morning all :goodvibes

Fingers crossed the social worker comes through for you, @flyingdumbo127!

I have a new class today - on a little heavier subject: the middle east. I hope it will help me understand what's going on a little better.

Then I have a quick appointment after that, and we have dinner at the Lodge tonight, so I'm off the hook for cooking.

I think it's supposed to be rainy. 🌧️☔🌧️☔🌧️

I actually 'understand' what is going on. What I will never understand is why people can be so vicious.

Another trip in less than 3 weeks. Coming too soon! Made my budget and will be happy to watch my girls blow it out of the water! My goal is to spend all of my retirement income and enjoy life while spoiling my family.

They can have the remainder, house and savings. I mean if I save today's money and scrimp a lot, they will just remember a stingy old woman, right? Might as well have as much fun as I can while I can.

With that in mind, next February will be a 2 bedroom at BWV boardwalk view and I'll share it with brother and family again, then will do Hilton Head with my girls for their break. Before that, a small trip in early December for just me and maybe my local friend. Reservations mostly made or are walking along.

Meanwhile, have to book the beach for a few days this summer. The girls have a park and planning pool that they can walk to but nothing beats a kiddie pool at the ocean for them.

I love this, and it's just what we tell my parents as well!

As for me, I am also headed south soon. Tomorrow actually - I have a conference at the Omni in Orlando and will then head west to Ft. Myers for a few days of R&R and catch up w/ my parents, my husband (he's headed straight there tomorrow) and a aunt & uncle I haven't seen in a few years. Weather is looking good....and I've got 4 new books to read! Pool & pool bar here I come tomorrow afternoon! Headed to Nashville for a meeting later this month but that will be a fly in, sleep, go to meetings and fly home that evening kinda 1 night trip.

The birds are chirping and the frogs are just making a cacophony of lovely spring sounds. Mother Nature is waking up. My cherry trees are budding/blooming and the daffodils are up. I think mowing is in my immediate and ongoing future:flower1:

I also miss hearing from @Pea-n-Me and hope all is well with her & her family.

Not much else to report - french dips for dinner, needed something easy as neither of us have packed or gotten the house together (niece comes and stays w/ the pups). Up and out the door by 5 tomorrow morning.

I had an appointment with the opthamologist this afternoon to have follow up pictures taken of my eyes. They discovered last fall that I have macular degeneration in both eyes and they keep calling to get a new set of pictures to check on progression. Thank goodness this was discovered at the beginning and is being closely monitored. The only problem
so far is that my DH's head tends to disappear from the pillow at night (at least it does for my vision). It is replaced by a black irregular ink-blob. I found this to be very disconcerning at first but I can reach over and feel his facial features so I know it is him. We have been through so much together that he just rolls with the next experience. Bless his heart.
Anyway, they were very pleased with the results of all of the testing. So I'm good for the next few months.

Hope everyone enjoys their planned adventures.

:hug:and prayers, Dznymemories and a big welcome to our kind thread, too! :)

Good evening to all as well, of course, you know that:grouphug:

I did spend most of the day on the 📱or 💻calling or looking up options to get me down (and back up) the stairs. God led me to reach out to a local church this morning. When I called the church office, the person who answered suggested I email the pastor which I did. This afternoon, I received a very kind email and later spoke with a member, T, of that congregation who works for the pastor it sounded like in the community resource field. T said she knows all-too well the limitations of wearing a boot since she needed one for over a year due to a couple health issues, yikes. I can't even imagine. She kindly offered to help me (with a friend of hers, if necessary, too) down the stairs and back up. She said she also has an SUV which dad and I realized may make my transport easier than our cars or more of a challenge if there is a step into the van, I can ask her. Regardless, it was a lovely gesture and great to have a welcome to a prospective new church that God willing one Sunday this year I will feel comfortable checking out a service from. Meantime, I can do so virtually one week. We left at it, T saying she will look into some other options for me. The cheapest non-emergency medical transportation I have found thus far starts at $350!:scared1:More than the podiatrist would charge! This would be for something called a stair chair where two people would carry me/help me down the stairs on some type of chair. I am guessing a non-electric version of the chair lift at church. This would be ideal except for the cost!

I don't feel completely comfortable with the idea of the stairs because they are a bit steep. However, should that end up being the only way of getting me to a podiatrist in the next week and a half I will need to try. Fire Department, as always, was very kind, but didn't have any suggestions. Social Services offers all sorts of senior (I am too young) especially transportation that is curb to curb. God has this and always has and how blessed I am to be moving forward a little bit in the right direction.

On a mystery 🪑 note, dad and I have been renting a recliner chair for me to sleep in for the last several months. We need to renew our contract by Thursday to keep it one last month. God willing it can finally be returned in April. Dad and I have both tried to call the company we are renting the chair from. I have tried probably a dozen times now over the past two days and dad has tried a couple of times, Either the phone endlessly rings or we get the automated message that tells us that the number has a full mailbox and is not accepting messages! Dad was clever and looked up a business close to the medical supply store where we got the chair from. The lady he spoke with said she works remotely but that her husband would look into whether the medical supply store was still around and let us know. The website indicates this company has been in business since 1917--the year my beloved late Grandpa Sam was born. Grandma Dolores was born in 1918, It is just so very strange that no one answers the phone and that there is no business message! Dad and I sure don't think they want to gift us their expensive chair! I guess we will find out. The store is a good half hour+ from us so not close by or convenient to drive over too, It's also in a busier part of the city with more traffic. We will try to call them again tomorrow! We can't do much more just very odd! Has anything like this ever happened to any of you?

Wishing all of dear you a cozy evening and should I not come back later, sweet dreams, of course, too.

In other news, oldest DD is doing a bucket list and flying to Peru in the morning. She just left with younger DD dropping her off at Dulles.

The destination is Machu Picchu. She'll be gone for about a week and come Friday I'll be watching kids over the weekend.

I hope everyone traveling has safe and nice travels. My younger DS and wife went to Peru and Machu Picchu. They found it to be amazing.

@Judique I like your attitude about money. It is nice to spend it for experiences with family. Last summer when we all went to NH and Santa's Village we had such a good time. Making memories is important.

@flyingdumbo127 You have talked with some kind and wonderful people to help you. The church you found does seem to be a good one to look into when you are ready. I hope you find the right answer for you to get to the podiatrist.

Dznymemories Sorry about your eye issues but so glad you had some good news from the tests. You are definitely blessed with your DH.

Good morning. It is 39 now with temps going into the 50s. Rain is over until later today when it will come back heavier than before. I checked the basement this morning first thing and am grateful to find no water coming in the windows. IF it could stay dry like this I would be so grateful. It was raining pretty hard for a bit last evening. The real test will be tonight and tomorrow. I am not going to look tomorrow before leaving early for work. I can't do anything about and it I will just get more stressed and worry while in the office. I will look when I get back. I went to the gym yesterday and did the treadmill and bike as well as an arm machine. I lasted 35 minutes.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Snowysmom🕊️❤️always! I'm not a fan of driving in a storm either. Please be careful, my friend. I have indeed been so blessed by God to have met a lot of kind people on my feet journey. Today, I will make more calls to try and find an affordable stair chair option. Go from there. Extra grace of God to have options and forever to know He has long had this and forever has me. He, of course, loves dear you, too.

Happy Winds-Day to all with love.

Happy Wednesday!☔

We are getting the rain! Supposed to stop around noon. Dogs are not happy but I'm happy that today is my work from home day.

Evan took Mia for her check-up yesterday, she's finally at 20 lbs. She's 16 mo. old so she's a little one. It's funny though, I don't think she's little at all and man, can that girl eat. We're headed to the maple syrup festival on Sunday at one of the parks, they have an all you can eat pancake breakfast. She'll eat those pancakes, that's for sure.

Finally got my Easter decorations out last night. House looks a little more festive now.

In other news, oldest DD is doing a bucket list and flying to Peru in the morning.
Hope you're daughter has a great trip!

Have a great day!

Good morning-not! I woke up to find all the clocks flashing which meant we had a power outage overnight. I got up and reset everything and finally got it all working. I fed the indoor cats, and went out to feed the outdoor ones, and came in to find everything flashing again. Reset everything and called the power company. She asks for my account # and I give it to her. She tells me that's not it? LOL She says look it up online. I said I would if I had power. I don't have the app on my phone, I don't want it!

She wrote a ticket and they're supposed to check the issue by noon. I just went next door to both neighbors and they had the same thing, so it's not my house. The guys daughter just called and said it was caused by a fire about 3 miles down the road that affected the power. It seems to be fine now.

I'm heading out to the grocery store now and to do some errands. It's going to be 65 and sunny with just a chance of a shower.

Have a good day.

I hope your day has gone better dear Lynn!

Dad talked with a business owner next door to the chair rental company. Guess what? The medical supply store where we are renting the chair from went out of business! Dad said the woman he spoke with told him the medical supply store didn't pay their rent, are locked out of the building, and that CVS has bought them out! We will work on our next legal steps this afternoon. For now, we have but don't really have a recliner chair! What a strange situation! On a foot note, I will be making calls this afternoon to try and find an affordable stair chair option. I am also not about to let 12 steps stand in my way of moving forward. As I told my new friend T in a reply, my Savior lived, died, and was resurrected for me. He overcame the world out of and for love. What a privilege it is for me to live I pray for Him in kind witness and service. God willing by His Grace I will continue to move forward and to better be able to do just that. More to come later.:grouphug:to all.
