Good morning. It's going to be a sunny 70+ degree day, tomorrow too, but chance of showers.
This hasn't been my week. Between the cable, the storms, the power outages, my phone, and now electrical.
I went to turn on the treadmill to walk before dinner, and nothing happened. I unplugged it, plugged it back in, reset it, nothing. Then I noticed that the nightlight in that corner wasn't lit, and I looked at the humidifier on the cabinet on the other wall, and that was off too. I went in the kitchen and tried the over the stove vent and fan, and those were off (For some odd reason those are on the circuit with the dining room. I went down and checked the circuit breaker and it was on. I switched it off, and back on, and it clicked like it's supposed to.
I called Dave again, since he was coming today and asked him about it. He had replaced an outlet in there a couple of years ago that had gone bad and made a bad connection to the other outlets. He said it could be one of the 5 outlets, or a bad circuit breaker. While I was talking to him, I kept hearing a beep. I finally noticed that every now and then the humidifier light would come on, beep and then go off, and the nightlight was lit, but very dimly. Then it would go out. I'm hoping it's something simple like an outlet, I may have him change all 5 of them and the circuit breaker, just to be on the safe side. I turned the breaker off for the night just to keep anything from happening. I don't need a fire.
I had images of a $$$ electrician tearing up walls to get at wiring in my head a lot of the evening. I am praying it's nothing like that. A few bad outlets are the only electrical issues we've ever had, so knock on wood it's just something like that
If it doesn't take him hours to fix it, we'll go to Lowes and get the shelf brackets and get the shelves up, but having the electric fixed is more important right now.
Have a good day.
