Hello all, shall I say good morning?! Been up since 2 and I have no clue why...but I know that this blue light from my phone is not helping now :rotfl:

We had a busy weekend closing up the summer place for the winter and loading up the RV for our trip and getting on the road. My husband made this mickey lamp for our site at the Fort! This is a pic of it still in progress, I will share the finished product when I get a moment! Snow and insane winds had him bring it indoors to work on!

I've been menu planning for the rest of this week, to try and finish everything in our cabinets and fridge so that I can do one big stock up when we get to the Fort and getting creative with random bits of stuff has been fun! 😂

Anyone here play Wordle? It's a bizarre addiction that can be so frustrating sometimes! Haha

Happy Wednesday everyone, hope it's great!

Love the lamp! I play Wordle, Nerdle and Quordle and there are threads for each in the Games Board here. Come on a post there with your results, or just chat about it!

All I can say right now is WOW! Don called me into the living room after looking at a picture on FB. He asked me who it looked like, said it was someone I knew. I had no clue, didn't recognize her. It turned out to be our oldest granddaughter. It's probably been 4 or more years since we've seen her in person,,and her FB picture this morning was a fairly old one where she looked like 'our Taylor'. Here is tonite's picture,,,she has turned into a beautiful young woman. She and her boyfriend are getting engaged soon., where does the time go? (she's 22).

Wow, she is beautiful, Lynn! I love her gorgeous hair!

Auntie, love the costume! You will look smashing!

Mona, have you seen the thread I started on the Budget Board about hearing aids? Just this week they started to be OTC (over the counter)! It might be that your Dad could benefit from some of these low cost and widely available aids now! Stay tuned! I also saw some products in researching these that can be used with TVs.

DS treated me to dinner tonight I just felt like a garden salad with grilled chicken and it was good. I like to put the salad and chicken in quarters of pita pockets and eat it that way. (Does anyone else do that?)

DD is bringing me home an ice cream - Coffee Oreo! Counting the minutes till she gets home, lol.

Just had a nice afternoon brief visit with Terri. Blessing always to get to see her she was out our way. Good friend indeed. Dad did save a lot at Target by using our credit and the $10! Always pays to check Circle or other store's offers or coupons before 🛍️No reply yet back from Tracie regarding whether a time exception could be made. Not expecting there to be but was definitely worth asking. Thank you again, Pea for encouraging me to do so.

Thank you, Disney MommyMichelle for your kind words for my dad. Grateful God led you to our kind thread. Prayers indeed for safe :car:travels.

Thank you also, AuntieMe3 for your kind dad words and wishes. It's not an easy choice for someone to admit any type of health is needed. I think that is often truer with issues related to aging. Have a wonderful time at the party🦋

Glad you also enjoy some online games, Bobbiwoz🎮

Beautiful picture, Lynn! God Bless Taylor! Get some good🛏️tonight!

Much thanks always to you as well, Pea. I will PM you a bit more detail either later or tomorrow. You just PLEASE take care and get well! 🙏

Love to all and sweet dreams, too!

Oh wow that's a lot!! Cool!! I post in the Wordle thread, that is how I heard about the game and had no clue how to play for a bit and then slowly figured it out! The instructions had me befuddled at first! LOL

Morning all.
enjoy your beach time @Breezy_Carol
Used the last of the half n half in my coffee, so when DH gets home from work, I have to go to the store (which means I need to shave and shower, lol)...luckily I have some shelf stable single serve creamers that I got for hurricane season to use in my 2nd cup.

DH and I are ordering a couple new Halloween decorations for this year, since we are back in a house and have a decent yard. I think a big sign to put beside the front door; a clown that activates with movement, and maybe a giant inflatable cat. DD#2 made it home from South Korea day yesterday, and had a good trip. DD#1, SoIL, and both DGS had a respitory infection over the last week; they're all getting better. No one has heard from DS since his birthday (so 20 days now); but DD#2 was out of the country, and she's his contact, so she is trying today.

Today, I'm making coconut curry vegan soup for dinner; DH was going to pick up Jersey Mike's cheesesteaks for lunch on his way home but we'll have to see if he gets off early enough to get them; he is late this morning because there was a crash on the Buckman bridge (that he takes to work), that shut down both sides of the bridge for awhile this morning. Apparently there was a crash last night, and they left the semi truck on the bridge from that, and this morning, another semi hit it, and both caught on fire. One was marked hazmat, so they had to take extra precautions, including for cleanup, so that the runoff wouldn't get into the St Johns River. Even though it's actually two bridges (one in each direction) and the crash happened on the side that DH would be taking home from work, they had to shut down both because of the smoke, and making sure they could get crews to the crash/clean up, plus all the looky-loos on the other side would absolutely cause more accidents. So he took the long way to work, which comes out closer to his work, but is about half an hour longer (he could have taken the other bridges the other direction and went through downtown Jax, but honestly, who wants to drive in that mess, and it is still half an hour longer, at least).

The other day, we had a bag of brussels sprouts that was amazing! Frozen, but you cooked them in a skillet, and they had a balsamic glaze to them...they were really good! (It was either Green Giant or Birds Eye, I only buy those two brands of frozen veg)....I'll need to see if I can find them again! And for those who like Better than Bouillon...they have 4 new flavors out, and I can tell you the Chipotle one is good in chili! (need to try the other 3: Italian Herb, Adobo; and Sofrito). Their vegetable one is great in rice or farro; and I like the sauteed onion and roasted garlic in soups.

sad news ahead--------------------------

Yesterday afternoon, one of my nephews (son of my Dsis and BIL who passed earlier this year) got in touch with me. My niece Margaret (his next youngest sibling) passed away yesterday morning. She had been sick for awhile; she's had a lot of issues going on, but for the last year, had been traveling from SD to the Mayo clinic in Rochester for her heart. She had gone up to ND to visit in-laws, and her heart finally gave out. My nephew is absolutely broken; in the last 18 months, he has lost his mom and dad, his FIL (to cancer) and now his sister, and his MIL was having brain surgery yesterday, for a tumor. I had to let my brother and my kids know, and when I had messaged another niece, who was thick as thieves with Margaret, since the day they met (Nicholle is not blood, but that doesn't matter to us), I ended up breaking the news to her as well. I am absolutely devastated; I spent all afternoon crying (and I didn't cry this much with DSis and BIL at all, but I was sort of expecting those calls for awhile). She leaves behind two kids (adult son, mid teens daughter). Woke up this morning with a headache and swollen eyes, from crying.
------------------

I need to go get that shower. Y'all have a good day.

Good morning all! Frosty 31 this morning, but heading for 65. Into the 70's for all of next week though

@Breezy_Carol --Have a great trip,,catch up when you get back. Share some pics with us when you come back too, please
@Bianca and Bernard --So very sorry for your sad news. Prayers said for all.
I got some brussel sprouts like that, frozen with balsamic glaze, but I got them at Aldi's, so they were an Aldi's brand. Let us know what ones you used, so we can try them please. Usually Don (Mr L) only like them fresh, sauteed with garlic and bacon, but he liked these frozen ones.

I just found out where the extra piece of gutter screening we should have had went to. I went up on the ladder to remove all the sticks from the walnut tree that were stuck in the screening (tree is now empty), and way down the other end I could see a piece of screening , looked like one of the pieces had come unhooked. I got down to that end..and found the spare piece of screening (4 foot section), just sitting on the roof. The guy who put them in , must have taken an extra piece up to use for the next section, forgotten he set it there, and just asked us to hand him up an extra one. I can't believe that it didn't just blow down onto the ground with all the wind we've had. We purposely bought 2 extra pieces just in case they needed them. They used one and cut it up for sections where a whole piece wasn't needed, and this would account for the other one, lol. Wait till I tell Dave (handyman), as we looked and looked..went through boxes, looked all over the ground and against the house in case one was just leaning there,,and couldn't find it.
Today I am going up into the attic, to check under the roof vents in case there are any bee's nests in there. We put screening inside the attic to keep them from getting inside, and once a year I go up, remove the screen and dispose of any they may have built. They love under those vents apparently. Gives me a good excuse to clean my closet at the same time, since the attic opening is inside my closet,,lol

Have a great day!

I only have a second for a quick good morning! 🐥 I have a doctor’s appt late this morning and have to hop in the shower after this. DD is coming with me. I feel a little better today.

I wanted to share a pic of the new corner unit I bought last week. It will be nice to put my seasonal decorations on.

I’m sorry for that sad news, B&B. :sad1: She sounds like a patient I would care for. This is why sometimes my job takes such an emotional toll on me. Keeping your family in my prayers, they have had too many losses! I hope you can get word on your son soon.

Wishing everyone a nice day. 🍁

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all well. I am finding that life is so much back to normal that it can be hard for me to keep up with this thread, which I guess is a good thing considering many of us were stuck working from home and/or quarantining at home when this thread started.

I only went back 2 pages...sorry if I missed anyone.
Lynn, I think that people have gotten so used to being rude and saying what they want on social media that it's beginning to carry over to real life.
Agreed!
As for Summer--not good..she got the results of her xrays,,and now they are telling her that she has degenerative bone disease as well as everything else that is wrong. She goes to Morgantown tomorrow for more scans and to talk to her Dr
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope her Dr.'s can help her out, and that her family can rally around to help her out. I hear so many good things about the medical facilities (as compared to Keyser - Cumberland areas...so I guess it's like apples & oranges in some ways!) from family & friends up your way.
We are back home, saw some beautiful scenery. We hit the fall colors just perfectly!!
Glad you timed it so well and had a great time. Our trees are turning here and it's really starting to become a beautiful color show.
. It turned out to be our oldest granddaughter. It's probably been 4 or more years since we've seen her in person
Love those freckles! 4 years - that is a long time, hope you get to see her soon!
Getting ready to head to Seagrove Beach, just east of Destin, FL, with a stop tonight in Savannah, GA. I am not even going to try to keep up reading here.
Have a wonderful time, safe travels
half n half
I'm a half & half person as well. Can't stand milk or powdered creamers in my coffee.
sad news ahead
I'm sorry to read this, sometimes it seems the weight of the world lies disproportionately on some shoulders at times, such as your nephew is experiencing.

Well the weekend is here, no grand plans for us this weekend. Meeting with my niece to go over some dog/house sitting she is doing for us next month but that's about it. Might make a roast on Sunday, I need to root around in the freezer and take stock of what is still there. Dinner tonight is going to be fish & salad, tomorrow I'm going to the farmers market to pick up some soup from my seafood lady - cream of & maryland crab - but I'm not sure if we will have that tomorrow or if I'll just put that in the freezer. I need to pick up frozen vegetables (one of the dogs eats 2 cups per day of vegetables), dog food from the feed store, and drop something off at the UPS store if the UPS guy doesn't stop by the office this morning.

Happy Friday!

I'm off this weekend so I'm excited!!! Cleaned the house this morning and threw in a load of laundry :laundy:. I just got back from doing a taste test for sugar free chocolate. A couple of the samples were pretty good, wouldn't have known it was sugar free. Paid $15 so I stopped and got a lottery ticket, one can dream 💰💰.

sad news ahead
So sorry that you had such horrible news. Your nephew is going through all sorts of feelings, feel bad for him.☹️

Just have a few plans for the weekend. I'm going to paint my wooden shed tomorrow . Tomorrow night I'm going to my great niece's soccer game ⚽, and Sunday I'll watch the Bengals play from the comfort of my couch 🏈.

That's it for me, just having leftovers for dinner tonight, nothing exciting.

Have a great day!

Good Morning friends from cooler CA,

It is overcast early this morning so far. This weekend is supposed to be much cooler than the upper 80's-90's that it has been. Dad went to check our mailbox around 7:45 last night and surprisingly found it jammed pack! That was certainly unexpected. He must have spent a good 5 minutes trying to get everything out of our very small box. The mail carrier would have had an easier time just bringing it to our door. Grateful that it came, of course. We are all caught up minus two personal pieces of mail for me. One envelope was mailed a week ago Tuesday from FL and the other even longer than that ago from TX. Maybe today. I feel badly for any later night carrier that can't be much fun at all. We shall see what the mail brings today.

Have a safe and wonderful⛱️trip, Carol:hug:

:grouphug:B&B and much loving prayer and care.

:hug:Lynn, you truly do amaze me, my friend. You are a lady of all talents and trades! Please though be careful! Love the Mickey pumpkin lamp it looks like?

Much 🙏Pea that your doctor's visit is helpful and more so that you are finally feeling better! Thank you for sharing your seasonal display with us!

Just :hug:Kirby and good to see you!

:hug:Easyas and enjoy a quieter weekend and time with your niece!

:cheer2:for a weekend off, Footballmouse. Please get some rest and enjoy!

Waving hi with a :hug:Bobbiwoz.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone. I will check back later.

I wish I had better news to report. 😕 Had to test for work today and tested positive still. Still sick. Have a doctor’s appt tomorrow. 😕 Very tired of this....DD is bringing me home an ice cream - Coffee Oreo! Counting the minutes till she gets home, lol.
Uggh! So sorry about the continued positive tests. That happened to a friend of DH's early on - he kept testing positive even though he was feeling better. I hope at least the ice cream was good!!

As for Summer--not good..she got the results of her xrays,,and now they are telling her that she has degenerative bone disease as well as everything else that is wrong. She goes to Morgantown tomorrow for more scans and to talk to her Dr
Yikes - she does not need one more thing to deal with!

Hello! It was27° this morning in Hendersonville NC where we visited a friend because today marks one year since her DH of 53 years, Jack, passed. Tom and Joyce were in high school together, but Joyce and I became friends when we met as neighbors in our first homes in Hamilton Township NJ.

I am so grateful that Tom’s knee replacement has healed to the extent that we can share driving on this trip.

We went to a memorial Mass for Jack today. It was good for us to be with Joyce.
I'm sure she appreciated it!

We are back home, saw some beautiful scenery. We hit the fall colors just perfectly!!

Glad the timing worked out!
Dad's appointment this morning, thanks to God, went well.
Excellent!

I really need to remember to do quotes. I forget to easily what I want to comment on.
I am able to do much better with that when I'm on the PC (like I am now) than when I'm on my phone. (So I'm not playing favorites when I skip anyone!!)

My niece Margaret (his next youngest sibling) passed away yesterday morning.
Oh, I'm so sorry

I am finding that life is so much back to normal that it can be hard for me to keep up with this thread, which I guess is a good thing
Me too!!

I'm off this weekend so I'm excited!!! Cleaned the house this morning and threw in a load of laundry :laundy:. I just got back from doing a taste test for sugar free chocolate. A couple of the samples were pretty good, wouldn't have known it was sugar free.
Yum!

Good afternoon thread save! 🌼

As a bowl tiny update, I have not heard anything today yet from Tracie. I Googled the site and see they have 4 employees which is what I thought. I have dealt previously with 3 of them. The 4th is the founder of the company. Now, I do know who the cofounder is depending on what Tracie may say. I'll give it until Monday morning since dad wouldn't be going to the post office before then anyway and go from there. I will, if need be, call early Monday morning. Thank you all for all your kind support always and on this!

@Pea-n-Me I never heard of Coffee Oreo ice cream, and I bet it’s good! Hope it hit the spot for you.

We are home. :)
It was so good to see Joyce, and especially to meet her two lovely kittens, Tiger and Tootsie. She has been sending me pictures, but they are so soft, light and friendly, I just never appreciated how special they are. They’re about 6 months old, and she knows that Jack is watching them and enjoys their antics and is happy for her.

Tom and I had gone to NC to have lunch with Jack and Joyce August 15, 2021. He was fine, but by October, he was gone.

We do try to stop and have a meal with friends when we travel and this morning we were in Winchester VA where we stopped at IHOP to meet college friends who live in Lake Fredrick VA.

Driving on the Delaware Memorial bridge coming home wasn’t easy. They are doing lots of bridgework, we were going slowly, and a sort of height awareness came to my consciousness. That was scary. I was glad to be over the hump and on the downhill. Yikes. Then I was fine and drove to Mauricetown when Tom finished the drive. I had taken a new route home 49, took us through Salem and sights in NJ that we had not seen.
