Good Thursday morning! 🍁

Ran a couple of errands last night before heading to the soccer game ⚽. Stopped at Sam's and grabbed the precooked grilled chicken. I really like these, not only are they good, you just have to pop them in the microwave to warm up. Then I headed to Meijer to grab some dog food and cat food. Luckily I remembered that I was out of the crockpot bags (easy clean up!) so I got a box of those. I kept forgetting to put these on my grocery list. Finally made it down to the soccer game. I did tell Evan that I was only staying until halftime, I was tired. Tonight's snack for the team was cookies from the bakery 🍪.

I got home right around 9:00, let the dogs out, gave them a little attention and then went to bed. I didn't even bother watching Survivor or Amazing Race 😲. I record those so I knew I'd be watching them today when I get home from work.

Not much else to report on. Have a great day!

40 degrees here at 8:30am going to 61 degrees by mid afternoon. I still have to do the grass on the back end of the yard. The leaves are blowing in there from all the trees and neat neighbor is out blowing his and gathering them almost every day, so I used the bag mower to run along the side of my property that adjoins his.

He would never say anything and always offers me help, so I want to do what I can. Probably with someone else I would run the big mower and just chop them up. After finishing this gather that's what I'll be doing but wanted to get the majority gathered up.

Nothing new here today, just looking forward to my trip in a few weeks.

I've been riding my tricycle a bit and have also walked and have to do a lot more of both to get more fit. I don't want to have to pay to rent a scooter to get around any sooner then I may have to.

Good morning everyone--brr,,it's only 34 degrees here this morning, and we had a hard frost. One more coolish day today, then heading back to the 60's and 70's for next week. Even though I love Fall, I don't like these cold days we have had so often the last few days.

@Pea-n-Me --are you feeling any better yet?

Too cold to do anything outside today. I need to winterize the mowers, take the hose down, drain it, and put it away, then turn off the water to that outlet.
Handyman is supposed to come today or tomorrow. He was going to come yesterday, but they dug up the train tracks that go past the end of his street and wouldn't let anyone in or out. They never notified the neighbors they were going to do it, and have a giant dump truck parked across them so noone can get around. They are all pretty upset. They can't get out to go to work, to go to Dr's appts etc. He said they go through this every few years, and last time the neighbors all sued them for lost wages and won. Stupid to do the same thing all over again.

Have a nice morning all.

Good morning.

Packing is the major push for today. We hope to have the car loaded and bikes on it before bed tonight. Then tomorrow just need to put in the last minute things and go.

Have to remember to stop for Bible study at noon.

What type of tree (if you know) is it?
I am pretty sure it is a sugar maple. We have several maples in our backyard but different varieties so not as beautiful.

Morning everyone! Hope you all are doing well, spent the day yesterday shuttling kids around town so that they could say goodbye to all of their friends for the winter. It was bittersweet as the kids were bummed but excited to see their Florida friends and I was driving them around, so missing dinner with my husband (he works nights and it's one of the few moments I have with him) but it was so sweet that even though they have cars and can drive on their own, they wanted me with them. ❤️
What a cute lamp DisneyMommaMichelle!

Lynn, I think that people have gotten so used to being rude and saying what they want on social media that it's beginning to carry over to real life.
Thank you so much!
First time for me - I like the Kermit Loungefly mini backpack. That may become my Disney souvenir if I can get 20% off.
Ohhhh fun!!! Good luck!

What if someone needed an ambulance service in an emergency? That would never fly here. All the news people would be on it.

Last night there were firetruck and ambulance catty corner across the street.

Haven't heard any news yet but an elderly lady lives there -late 80ties. I saw her walking along our street a few months back and her grandson and another neighbor came and helped her back inside. She has lost a lot of mental capacity and I don't think she recognizes me anymore. I've never been especially close to her as both of us worked and didn't have many reasons to cross paths, although we've always been friendly on meeting. She has family living with her, maid service and health people coming and going so it's not easy to just visit so us neighbors just ask about her through the family.

Shortly after I moved in, her now departed husband came banging on my door 1-2am. Scared me to pieces! Their house was on fire so he had good reason and had already knocked at a couple of doors before coming to mine. He was yelling fire once I could understand what he said so I called the fire department. His wife had broken and cut her arm trying to get out through a window and was laying in their yard. Not long after that he passed away still quite young, but they were maybe 20 years older than me also.

That's what I told him to do, and for him to tell the neighbors to do it too. They said it would take 2-3 days to replace the tracks. Why on earth didn't they notify neighbors so they could have moved a vehicle to the other side and been able to get out. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!

Good Morning Friends.

Dad just left for his hearing test. 🙏that will go safely and well for him. I really do admire his courage for going. I just emailed Tracie at You Customize It to ask whether there would be any way I could also get a full refund on the original small bowl. Not expecting a yes answer. Did think it was worth asking. Still have not found anyone who wants either bowl. I need to let Tracie know my decision tomorrow. Grateful as I have said to have choices! We never did get any mail yesterday. We are expecting a package through the mail today. We'll see if that comes. May each of you find a friendly and welcome surprise in your own mail today as well 💌Remember to PM me if ever you would enjoy a postcard from CA.

Pea, thinking extra of you and praying today finds you feeling a whole lot better my friend🌸

Footballmouse, you are so kind to always bring treats to soccer games. Thank you for doing that. Prayers you finally got some good rest! 🛌

:hug:Judique, so glad you and your neighbor are friends. Thank you, of course, for your kindness to him. Cheering you on for riding and walking more. Good for you! What a sad story about your elderly neighbors. Prayers for the wife indeed!

Yikes, Lynn, how cold! Stay warm, my friend and well. That sure sounds like a street mess all right. How awful :scared1: to be trapped like that yet again it sounds like! ITA that total street blockage is a health and safety hazard in so many ways. Prayers today all is quiet and clear on your street! How is Summer doing? 🙏:grouphug:extra to dear you.

:thanks:Carol. It is a beautiful tree! I read about sugar maple trees in a book once and how the characters made maple syrup. I’ve never done that but it sounds tasty. Enjoy Bible study and 🙏for safe travels tomorrow, my friend.

 DisneyMommyMichelle, God Bless kind you for taking the care and time to drive your kiddos around. I’m sure it meant a lot to them to say goodbye for now to their friends. How exciting and fun that it sounds like your family may be snowbirds and thus have friends in different states. Prayers for safe travels and time in FL.

I shall check back later :)

Hi, all. Checking in later than usual, as I was at the car place this morning (for DH's inspection sticker) and then grocery shopping.

I'm sitting out back with the one of cats right now. We're both enjoying the sunshine (sooo much warmer than earlier) and she's also quite fascinated by a cricket.

DH get home from a work trip this afternoon, and it will be so nice to have him home!

I wish I had better news to report. 😕 Had to test for work today and tested positive still. Still sick. Have a doctor’s appt tomorrow. 😕 Very tired of this.
First time for me - I like the Kermit Loungefly mini backpack. That may become my Disney souvenir if I can get 20% off.
I have one! And DD has a couple. I like the size and the fact that you can throw it on your back for hands-free.

Mona, I think you should call the company and ask to speak to a supervisor. Tell them your circumstances. Maybe they will make an exception.

Well my second pair of Frye boots came and I….. am going to return those! They fit beautifully, too, but weren’t as nice as the first ones. Leather was dull and scuffed. DD said they looked more average, which was true. So, glad a decision is made. I don’t need two pairs of that type. But I am all set for boots now, lol. (And I have my Wellies for when it’s wet out or when I’m out with the dogs in muck!) So tonight DH is going to cover them in the salve that protects the leather (like mink oil but I forget what it’s called). That will dry overnight and they’ll be ready to wear tomorrow - when my isolation ends. Yay.

Woke up this morning and the house was cold at 60 degrees. Turned the heat on low. Sleep has been off due to headaches and breathing (head clogged).

Have phone calls to make and letters to write today. Enjoy the day, everyone! 🐥

There's a neighborhood here in Jax that gets blocked by trains regularly. Someone made a Twitter page about the Jax train. https://twitter.com/sanmarcotrain

Not much here today; it was cold last night, in the low 40s, and it's not getting above 70ish today. woohoo Making spicy balsamic griddled cheese over rice and a tomato walnut relish. I'm really tired today, I'm going to go nap.

Have a good day.

Our street is clear, haven't heard from Dave the handyman yet, so I am assuming he's still blocked in at his house.
As for Summer--not good..she got the results of her xrays,,and now they are telling her that she has degenerative bone disease as well as everything else that is wrong. She goes to Morgantown tomorrow for more scans and to talk to her Dr

Hello! It was27° this morning in Hendersonville NC where we visited a friend because today marks one year since her DH of 53 years, Jack, passed. Tom and Joyce were in high school together, but Joyce and I became friends when we met as neighbors in our first homes in Hamilton Township NJ.

I am so grateful that Tom’s knee replacement has healed to the extent that we can share driving on this trip.

We went to a memorial Mass for Jack today. It was good for us to be with Joyce.

We are back home, saw some beautiful scenery. We hit the fall colors just perfectly!! The drive was long and hard. I don’t think we will be doing a 20 hour drive again😴
I just spent the morning going through the first 200 pages of our thread. Wow, so much has changed and yet so much remains the same. I cried and I laughed. I must say we are a tough, caring and resilient group.

Dad's appointment this morning, thanks to God, went well. He felt comfortable with the new to him doctors which is always a huge blessing especially because he had never met them before. Thank you all for your extra prayers. Target Circle has $10 off $30 in store purchase offer through November 2nd. Dad will be headed to Target shortly in the hopes of getting some antibacterial hand wipes. 99 and Dollar Tree are clear out of our preferred regular wipes. We also have a Red Card Credit of $20 or so which will make a $30+ purchase very cheap. Extra grateful for that! Our expected package through the mail says it is out for delivery. I will share later that hopefully it did come along with maybe mail, too! :)

Big :grouphug: Pea. You know you are sure in my heart and extra in my prayers as well! I’m so sorry you are still dealing with Covid—yuck! Thank you for your extra encouragement about the bowl. I did get a reply from Tracie who said too much time has gone by to offer me a refund on the kid’s bowl. I did just now email her a reply simply thanking her but also asking if there wasn’t a way that a one-time exception could be made. We’ll see what she says. It was worth my asking, thank you for that nudge! I will update later.

B&B, how crazy about the 🚃. Dad did often share when he worked in an area with a train crossing that there were definitely times where his route was held up. Weather also sounds nippy there. Please do get some rest!

Just ❤️dear Lynn

:grouphug: big-time to you and Tom, as well, dear Bobbiwoz. 🙏that the Mass brought all of you extra peace. Thank you for being such a kind friend to Joyce.

Welcome home, dear Dazed:hug: What a touching post, thank you. Praise God for His extra blessing of your trip. Much prayer it did bring both you and Kris extra fun and peace. A 20-hour drive would sure not be for me either! Get some rest.

Have a good rest of the afternoon everyone.

Glad all went well for your dad and that he was comfortable! Those Target Circle rewards are always great to collect and use when most needed! Hope your package arrives and your bowl issues get resolved favorably!!
Thank you for the kind words on our travel, we are eager but also will be taking it slow getting down there!

@Pea-n-Me, I hope you get better, but at least your quarantine period is over and you will have wonderful boots that have been weatherized!

Have good day all, we are off on some last minute errands and have finished winterizing our deck!

Happy Thursday all...

Going to a family Halloween party at my aunts house Saturday and I got this on Amazon to wear...
Screenshot_20221020_141406.jpg
It had arm straps like a backpack and then loops for your fingers. You can wear it like a shawl and then put your arms out to display your wings. I thought it was cute and pretty cheap, wearing black leggings and a black top so I'll be comfy too.

Loved the picture of @tazdev3225 and @Snowysmom So great they got to meet.

@dazedx3 glad you had such a nice trip, that is a long drive though.

@Breezy_Carol I think I missed where you changed your trip to.

@flyingdumbo127 glad your dad's appointment went well. My dad and DH both need to get their hearing checked but they are being stubborn about it.

@lynxstch prayers for your stepdaughter.

@Judique I have a pink Minnie loungefly backpack I won in a contest but I gave a few other loungefly purses that I love.

Hmmmm....I really need to remember to do quotes. I forget to easily what I want to comment on.
