Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Summer got injections in both knees..and they told her to ice for the pain she will have after the numbness wears off. They did an ultrasound on her hands, and she has bone spurs and arthritis in both hands. The tests say she doesn't have rheumatoid arthritis in them, but the Dr says she thinks she does. She prescribed some strong meds that she takes once a week. If they work, then it is rheumatoid. She sees a urologist on Nov 2, and after that she sees the nephrologist again. Dr wants to do a cat scan of her spine, but said she doesn't want her overwhelmed with stuff right now because it will just make things worse. How much worse can it be? They have told her all these things, one after the other for months, yet noone is doing anything about any of it.

Its still nice outside at 60 degrees. Cheryl (SIL) and Abigail (niece) were just here and brought me some boneless skinless chicken thighs. They drove to Bedford PA just to buy chicken..when they could have gotten the same thing at Aldi's for half the price. It's nice of her to think of me, but it makes Don mad. He said they don't need to be buying us stuff like that. It gives her pleasure so I just say thank you and let it go. She also brought me a jar of homemade grape fruit spread.

Have a nice nite, sleep well.

More bad news… talked to my sister (they had to cancel on the trip with us because her DH was having terrible back pain). It is cancer and he is already on hospice. He is in a lot of pain. I‘m just not sure how much more our family can take😭 That is five cancer diagnosis in the past two years.

Hello fellow Quackers and welcome to Friday evening. Just checking in to say "howdy" and sending prayers and extra hugs to all who need them. It once again seems like many in our little community are going through some really tough stuff.

I will try to respond more sometime this weekend.

Same ol' same ol' here. Things with FH are about the same. I got some letters from my attorney that his attorney sent (information we actually requested) and it made me so upset and sad. The plus is, I only wallowed about it for about an hour and then I was able to go about my day. Even a month ago that would have done me in and I would've been a mess for hours. Small victory. I'm getting ready to take a long hot shower and try and settle in for the night. Our high school football team made it to the playoffs as a wild card, so I'm hoping I can listen to the game. It was exciting to make it, not so exciting is that they have to travel 2 hours north and play the number 3 ranked team in the state. I just hope nobody gets hurt and we can at least score a touchdown.

Take care everyone.

Dazed, I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL.

I come to you asking for prayers for our son, James. He has been feeling tired for a couple of months now and blood work last week showed his hemoglobin was low. His doctor called him tonight and after more tests yesterday, said it had dropped even lower to a 6. He told him to head to the ER. His wife is an ER nurse and is on duty tonight. A friend drove him to the hospital she works at.

Morning greetings from chilly (but sunny) Massachusetts.

I'm outside on my phone, so no quotes, but hugs to all who need one :grouphug:

Nothing big in the works for today. Need to make some meatballs and do a couple of outside chores, but for now just giving the cat a chance to sit in the sun.

Lance went out this morning, and popped by Panera; brought me home a pecan braid and a vanilla latte. He really does pay attention to what I like, lol. I have to run up to Target for a pick up order (Mexican oregano, halloween goodie bags, and toilet paper), and to Publix. I need to get the toppings (radishes, cabbage, cilantro), plus veggies for 3 more days, half n half, and some lunches for us. We ended up doing the Spicy Tunisian Bulgur bowls (roasted carrots, zucchini and onion) instead of the curry soup last night, so I'm making the soup for lunch today, with some ciabatta that he bought at Panera. I do need to mow the backyard, but I think I'll do that Monday or Tuesday, and then do the front yard on Wed/Thurs. I do need to do a couple loads of laundry, and the front rug needs a vacuum. Other than that, I think I'll do some gaming (I got into a Beta test for a game series that I really really like; played it for the last 25 years!) and WoW has it's Halloween event (I really need the Headless horseman to drop the mount for me please, as it's been 15 years and I still have not gotten it).

Tomorrow, I'm attempting to make a Posole Rojo for the first time. Waiting for an order from Walmart to be delivered (hominy, for the posole; Target here didn't have any) and my Chewy order (cats will be happy; it's cat litter, new toys and treats). On Monday, I have 3 packages coming from Amz (the fingerlights, squishes, and slap bracelets) and some new Halloween decorations (giant spiderwebs and spiders) and a light to light up one on the side of the house. This years theme is spiders, I guess, lol. We will put them up on Friday afternoon or Saturday, after I mow the front and back yards. I'm going to pick up some glow in the dark paint to put on the spiders and web, to make them a little bit more eerie. (well, Lance will need to pick it up, as he goes right by the craft store on his way home, and it is out of the way for me)

Y'all have a good day.

Y'all have a good day.
Please let us know how the Coconut curry soup is as that's one I want to request.

Need to get moving. Going to see my newest grandbaby this afternoon!

Good morning all...geez, almost noontime and I am just getting on here. It was a balmy 32 degrees here this morning, but now we head for a nice week of warmer weather, probably our last of the season.
Summer texted me again this morning..her oven broke 2 weeks ago, and with a family of 7 I can't even imagine not having one. Anyhow,,when she got home from Morgantown, she found a brand new 5 burner stove with built in air fryer sitting in her kitchen. Our 22 year old grandson Skylar sure takes care of his Mom. He waited till she left yesterday , went to Lowes with a friend who has a truck, and bought it and installed it. Same grandson who , when her washer broke, took everything out of his savings account and bought her a new one. He is the only one of the 4 kids who has a different father. (long story short,,druggie, in and out of jail, and Skylar wants nothing to do with him). Then she told me a scary story. Skylar has worked for some kind of electric company that maintains lines and towers, etc. 2 weeks ago, he called her, telling her he loved her. He wouldn't tell her what was wrong, even though Mother's intuition told her there was. He finally told her--they had been dropping older towers. Someone 'forgot to cut 1 piece', and instead of the tower coming straight down, it came down sideways, and they couldn't control it. Skylar had been standing right where it was about to hit, good thing he's fast thinking and a quick mover, he got out of the way just in time. He said he figured he better tell her , since she's the beneficiary of his life insurance if anything ever happens. She sent me the video of it (they always have someone video tower drops), and it was more than I could stand to watch. Scary , and could have been very tragic :(

@Kirby Prayers for your son James, and for you and your family, as I know you are all worried for him

@Judique How great that you get to see the new grandbaby today,,finally! Get in lots and lots of hugs and love.

I have been puttering around since I got up, and just now got onto the computer. I had to answer a pm to Frog first, then came to check on our thread. I stripped and remade the bed, swept the kitchen, put the other sheets in the washer, and cleaned both bathrooms. Those were my 'to do' chores for the day, will think of something else to do later. So nice outside, I may just go for a long walk.
Making salmon for dinner tonight, with spinach salad, and mashed potatoes. I like having my menu's planned for the week, instead of having to ask Don what he wants every night.

Have a nice Saturday y'all

Good Morning from chillier, for me, LA,

Spectrum was down all afternoon yesterday until later evening. Grateful it is up this morning and to be able to check in with all of dear you right now. I never did get any reply from Tracie yesterday. I will contact You Customize It one way or another on Monday. At least this gives me a couple more days to try to find someone who may want both bowls. If not, that's okay, too. We got a second day of mail yesterday! Just missing one card from a friend in TX. Getting there. Dad will be headed shortly out about 25 minutes away to a Food 4 Less. Not in the best of areas and not a place he goes to often. Ralph's in our immediate area and a few we have called further away, have been all out of our Pancake Mix.

A nice Ralph's manager yesterday to dad yesterday that he check Food 4 Less. I called, a kind worker checked and said they had plenty 🥞 Pancake prayers, and of course, first and foremost a safe trip for my dad, appreciated :) Edited to add the Food 4 Less, dad thought he was going to is sure enough (as we sort of thought) no longer there. This was the store that was such a blessing to us along with a nearby 99 Cent Only Store in April of 2020 when no stores had any basics. It was also along with that 99, one of the last places I got to shop at. Right now, poor dad is taking a longer :car:to where we sure pray is a real Food 4 Less that has our pancakes. Dad said 99 was terrible and there's no reason (which is a blessing since again it is not in a good area or near us really) for him to go back to that one.

Huge :grouphug:, Bobbiwoz and much prayer that your visit with Joyce brought added peace and cheer, fun new memories for all of you, kitties, included! Glad to hear you are safely home.

Oh Lynn, I feel so badly for Summer. She sure is going through the wringer. Reminds me of my cousin Steve in TX. Doctors didn’t seem to do anything but give him the run-around as well. Continuing 🙏 for healing for Summer and always, for dear you! Happy to hear you got to visit with Cheryl with Abigail!

No words, dear Dazed, just a whole lot of loving 🙏 prayer with a hug. We are here. We care.

Frog, a small victory is a blessing of grace indeed! I truly do admire you and your courage. Enjoy the game! Forever may you know, God is with you and by His connections your Quacker family cares too 🕊️

 hi B&B. Brighter day prayers always for you! God Bless Lance! Hooray that he brought you treats. Enjoy, my friend.
Absolutely prayers for James, dear Kirby! Praise God extra that James’ wife was on duty and friend could drive him. Plus, how blessed extra he is to have you for his mom.

Your morning posts always make me smile, dear PollyannaMom. Thank you and your kitties so much. A quiet day is one of added joy indeed! Be still and enjoy, my friend:hug:. I am DVR-ing my first Hallmark Christmas movie tonight, We Need a Little Christmas which sounds more interesting to me than the movie I am recording tomorrow. Destined at Christmas. I hope you (and all of you dear Quackers, of course, too) will enjoy a good movie or something else gun on TV this weekend.

:grouphug: Judique, cherish your visit as I know you will. Praise God for His extra blessing of precious time with the new addition to your family.

Pea:grouphug: and prayers, thinking of you!

Love to all. I will check back later. Have a great Saturday.

It was good. I roasted the cauliflower instead of cooking it in the skillet, and I should have cooked the curry a little longer, but we were hungry. LOL
Grats on the grandbaby!

Good for you!! It gets better, one day you will just roll your eyes and keep on trucking along. May not seem that way now but you will get there.
I feel so badly for my dad. After such a long drive, the Food 4 Less he trekked all the way out to did not have our pancake mix. I pray he gets something on this trip and comes home already!
I hope that you do find some of the pancake mix that you want. I like Hungry Jack pancake mix where you add the eggs and oil. It's hard to find, most of the grocery stores have the complete where you just add water.

Update on our son, James. He was given a unit of blood today. We spoke with him this afternoon for about 15 minutes. He tires easily. He said that tests for an ulcer came back negative. The hematologist told him that it could be a form of anemia, leukemia or an infection. He's having a Coombs test tomorrow and a bone marrow aspirate on Monday. We should know later that day what is wrong.

Good morning everyone. Happy Sunday! And as a plus, I am first this morning,,lol!

Chilly 36 outside, but going to 70 again today. It's days like this that make me wish I still had stuff to do outside. As it is, I have to just settle for sitting out in the sun , or going for a walk. I will do both later, after I dust and vacuum, and swiffer the kitchen and bathroom floors
Making homemade New England clam chowder for dinner tonight, it's been awhile since I've made it, and it was next on my menu list
Packers are playing today, so Don will be lost in tv for 3-4 hours. I do not plan on watching football today, no matter who's playing

Watched Beetlejuice last night. I have to watch it at least once a year, usually around Halloween. I also watched the series finale of Hallmark's Chesapeake Shores. I loved that show, and even though I figured out quickly that they would tie up all the loose ends and have a happily ever after for the whole family, I still cried at the end. I also taped the first Christmas Hallmark movie. I do not plan on watching all of them this year. I will pick out the ones I like and go from there. I end up with too many of them, between Hallmark, Hallmark movies and mysteries, and Lifetime, and I end up still watching Christmas movies well into the new year, when I am tired of them, lol

Continued prayers for James @Kirby

Have a nice day

As a P.S. Have any of you taken a picture of a Hickan Tree (pecan/hickory)?
No, I never even knew that particular hybrid existed!

Fingers crossed is is something easy to treat. But it's still so hard as a mom to wait for tests and not worry.

Making homemade New England clam chowder for dinner tonight
Yum!!

I don't watch football either.

I know what you mean - we have so much else in the DVR that I don't want to overdo it recording all of those and run out of room! There's a bunch of stuff DH is behind on because he was traveling for work, a few movies I always keep, rotating weekly stuff that I just watch at a different time than it's actually on, and several programs I recorded thinking I "should" watch them...but probably won't, that I need to get in there and delete.

Good Sunday morning! 🐥

Feeling a little better. Had a good ENT appt on Friday who put a scope up my nose down into my throat. He said I am basically loaded with the mucous typical of this strain of Covid and that it is what is causing all the pain and congestion, including in my eustachian tubes. He said it can take six weeks to go away. I did some research on it and they are studying this “gummy phlegm” (as they call it) now as they think it’s what’s responsible for breathing problems and Long Covid, and they have to learn basically how to break it up. Components of it are similar to what cushions bones in our body, so it’s tough stuff. (I could tell because coughing is completely unsatisfying, lol, ie it doesn’t do anything!) The only thing he added to my home regimen is sinus washes, so I’ve been doing them :crazy2: and they’ve helped a little, it’s just really disgusting! I am finally getting my haircut this afternoon so I cannot wait.

Saying prayers for all who requested and need. 🙏🏻 Special hugs for @Kirby.
