Post your funniest story from a Disney Cruise!

What did they expect... Stich was up to no good again.
That's funny !!!

we were standing in line to get back on the ship on Castaway Cay when Stitch came out! It was about 4:40, all aboard time was 5pm. Stitch was being his silly self and grabbed a bag full of merchandise out of a woman's hand that was a bit ahead of us. He was goofing around with it and dropped it. You could hear a loud crash like glass breaking! The dad got really mad and was like "you broke the cups". Stitch was visibly very embarrassed, he kept holding his hands to his face. A CM looked in the bag and indeed, mugs and glasses were broken inside. It was pretty funny for everyone standing around, but not so much to the family it happened to. I am not sure what happened with all of it, if the CM was able to run back to the store on CC to replace the broken things or not. I'm sure they did something to compensate. I felt bad for Stitch but it was still so funny!

I have no doubt DCL not only replaced all the broken items, but probably added some extra stuff in there as well.

Another funny incident that happend to me onboard was with no less than Captain Jack Sparrow. When it was my turn to have a picture with him, I saw Captain Hook and Mr. Smee sauntering by the outside area of Deck 4. I got so excited that while posing with Captain Jack, I shouted "Ooooh it's Captain Hook". Needless to say, Captain Jack wasn't happy. He clapped his hands briskly and said "No no NO! Concentrate! It's Captain Jack Sparrow!"

That kept me quiet. :goodvibes

the characters really seem to ham it up on the ships...I may just keep my mouth shut when dealing with them...god knows what they would say if i said anything!!

The captain Jack posting made me think of what happened with my mother.
She went up to have her picture taken with her idol...capt Jack. When she put her arm around him, he jumped and rubbed his behind like she pinched him. He was giving her the look, and when she said...what?:confused3
He said..oh don't worry love, must have been a bee...:rotfl:
It was a hoot, and I still don't know if she knew he had gotten over on her. :rotfl:

Hi! New here.

We just got back from a 7 day Western Carribean Cruise on the Magic last week! I still have a mighty Disney hangover.

One of my funniest Disney experience last week involved a Cruise staff member named Luke. I hang out and do the kiddie stuff in the morning, since I can't help but enjoy them and since I'm 22, I do the adult stuff in the evening and straight over to Rockin' Bar D. After the Cabaret shows are the theme nights and I have fun watching the band and people dancing and enjoying themselves. Luke, has taken it upon himself to convince me every night to dance along with them but I always refused. Mostly because I got extremely shy as I developed the tiniest crush on him (so where the other women there by the way). Until, he decided to hold my ship-bought Stitch Doll for ransom and wouldn't give it up till I agreed to dance on the last night. It was so funny seeing polaroids of my Stitch doll tied-up being sent to our cabin. Then when I bumped into Luke during the day, he pretends as if he has no idea what I'm talking about. Then finally, on the last night, I joined the fun and danced as if I knew how to dance.

Oh, I got Stitch back safe and sound.

We were on the 1/19 Eastern Cruise & Luke was there also. I LOVED HIM, he was our "guide" to bring us to the bus for our St.Maarten beach day & as he's walking, he hit his Goofy paddleboard a bit too hard & broke off BOTH ears!!! But he took it all in stride & said "I guess that's coming out of my paycheck this week" & kept on walking. By Disney Magic (what else is there??) a new paddleboard "appeared" in minutes to replace the broken one. The whole rest of the cruise my DS 14 kept busting them off on Luke whenever he saw him, "Hey break any more paddleboards?". He also BTW is one of the few USA cast members.

We just took my Sil and Bil on their first cruise. We got quite a chuckle when we went back to the staterooms the first night - she opened her door, saw the bed turned down and came flying back out again - she thought they were in the wrong room!

On my first cruise, I was doing laundry and took somebody's wet stuff and put it in the dryer above my washer, because it was the only one empty.

I left and came back when my stuff was done washing; put my wet stuff in an empty dryer and started it. I put my 2nd load in the now-empty washer, put my quarters in, and accidentally pushed the button for the dryer, which still had the abandoned clothes in it. Duh. Now I'm drying some strangers clothes.

I left and came back for my stuff; and my 1st load wasn't finished drying . . . but the machine I accidentally started was now done - and the clothes were dry. I took out these dry things and moved them to the table, so I could use that dryer.

So somebody was going to come back to the laundry room to look for stuff they forgot in the washer, and find their clothes clean, dry and sitting out on the table.

We were on the May 3rd Western, 6 of us....with 4 new cruisers. We were sitting on deck on Monday, our first day at sea. At noon we heard the announcement chime, but did not hear the announcement. Seconds later people around us put their fingers in their ears, but for some reason we did not follow suit. We were BLASTED off our sun loungers when the ship's horn sounded.

Jump ahead to Thursday....we are sitting at Palo for brunch when at noon we heard the same announcement chime. IMMEDIATELY all 6 of us put our fingers in our ears and waited. Tomas, our server looked at us as if we were nuts and said, very politely, "ladies, it is an announcement....you HAVE to listen." Needless to say we laughed ourselves silly over that one.

I'm leaving tomorrow for Orlando, so I'm taking notes. I'm traveling with a group of 12, so I'm sure somebody will be slipping on a banana peel.....or better!

oh i really love this thread! hilarious... had me in stitches- literally!
My story is actually pre-cruise for the West Coast Cruises in 2005 and is at DS's expense. We were spending 3 n at DL first and when we got to Paradise Pier our room wasn't ready but we had stuff we needed to get into in our luggage before heading to the parks. So we grabbed some lunch & then walked around the property for awhile killing time. We went out to look at the rooftop pool and came in & I called the front desk from the house phones by the elevators. In the meantime, while I was on the phone, DS (8 at the time) went ahead & got into the glass front elevator that faced the lobby and proceeded to get stuck! Alone! :scared1: We'd been in CA like all of 2 hours and here he was in this elevator for the whole world below to watch. Alone...you could see the crowd gathering & other Mom's asking "where are his parents"?!:scared: :rotfl2: Duh. Watching. OMG. I called the front desk again...security came...engineering came...the manager came...the fire dept. - nobody could get the doors to open and it would'nt move! He's in a total panic - jumping up & down...crying....screaming! And everybody watching. It was a real show! They finally had to call the Otis elevator people to come out & they went onto the roof of it & got it to go up a floor & then got the doors open.:sad2: It's funny NOW...but boy did we think what an omen we were going to have for the whole trip! The whole week on the ship he just wanted to take the stairs everywhere!:rotfl2:
oh no poor baby. I can totally see why he wanted to take the stairs! :rotfl:

On our first cruise we were seated with 2 other families. The first night, we were doing the usual round of introductions. It was the pretty typical howdy-dos until we got to the 10 year boy. Well, he spoke right up, introduced himself and his Mom and then...continued on to tell us that he doesn't have a Dad then stopped and corrected himself...Well, says the 10 year old, I DO have Dad because you know it takes a boy and a girl to.... Y'all get the idea, but rest assured the biology lesson continued on in a bit more detail than I feel the need to share here. The crown jewel of his introduction came at the end. He shared that his Mom and Dad didn't really know eachother, it was just a one night stand!:scared1: AAGGGHH! Now, if you're wondering why no one stopped him, it's because we were completely stunned. Everyone one of us (including the Mom) had our mouths just hanging open. Mom did look like she wanted to crawl under the table, though! :rotfl2: Needless to say, we were all fast friends after that first night.
:lmao: :lmao: I laugh because I could totally see my son doing something like this (although he does know his dad, we are married, etc. that's not what I meant)
I know if I'd been there I would have died laughing and not been able to stop laughing long enough to stop him either! LOL

My DW and DD did the SS Members only cruise back in October of '07. The entire trip we told my DD(5) three things repeatedly, "Get your hair out of your mouth", "Don't chew on your clothes", and "Pay attention to what you're doing". Needless to say it was pretty much in one ear and out the other. We have this habit of walking together holding hand with the DD in the middle, whenever we come to an obstacle we say "Bread and Butter" as we let go of hands and walk around. The last day of the cruise we are walking along deck 9 holding hands and come to one of the posts holding up deck 10, my DD is watching something going on on the big screen. We let go of hands say "Bread and Butter" and BONNNG, My DD walks into a post.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: OMG THAT one is HILLARIOUS!!!!!! (Well, as long as your DD was ok...those are padded posts, right?)

My best friend did something similar to that when we were kids...she walked right into a parking meter while everyone was waiting for the 4th of July Parade to start. Darn those poles for getting in the way of us humans walking!! :rotfl:

This one goes back to late 2001, and it was funny enough it's possible some of you noticed it....

Was traveling with my nephew 11, who was notorious on that cruise as the boy with the purple hair (he dyed it for the cruise for reasons that are only comprehensible to 11 year old boys).

All was fine until the visit to San Martin/San Thomas, where we took the regatta excursion. It was huge fun to sail on those ships, and with the salt spray everywhere we could imagine we were on the America's Cup.

But.... what we did not anticipate was that the purple dye used was not colorfast in salt water.....

Ooops...

Within minutes purple dye was leaking down his face faster than a tearful Tammy Faye (that dates me), onto his shirt, shorts and everywhere else. We got off the ship with a purple haired kid, and returned with a purple kid with blond hair.

Last cruise a couple of months ago, I brought silly string for the sail away party. For some reason my DS was trying to squeeze the top and could not get it. He turned around back to the stage looked at me and announced, "it is stuck!" While in this position, he tried squeezing again; the string came out; but did it hit him in the face??? No..... It went all over MICKEY :scared1: as he was shaking it like this and moving it like that on the stage. I felt horrible as Mickey had to finish the show with PINK silly string all over his face. What a way to start the vacation. For the duration of the 7 days, kids would come up to him and say "you are the kid that sprayed Mickey Mouse." Can I say we will never bring silly string again.... It does just peel off with no damage, but we were sooooo

My daughter and I were thinking about doing the "mystic" tan, the one where you go to a tanning salon and you get sprayed. But after reading about it, decided not to, because the article we read said that if you get into chlorinated water with one of the mystic tans, the chemicals in the chlorine mixed with the chemicals in the spray, will cause streaking, etc. We didn't want to have to worry about stuff like that on our cruise. If we want to swim in the pool....then we want to swim in the pool without worry. The other thing the person at the tanning salon mentioned, is that sometimes the spray can have an orange cast to it.

ols386,
Read Post #1 of this thread and you will see that you made the right decision not to get a "fake" tan.....

It's pretty funny...:rotfl: :rotfl:

Cheers
