Post your funniest story from a Disney Cruise!

OK, this is kinda hard to explain, just try to imagine you were me...

On our cruise, my then-6-year-old son insisted on hopping over the metal plates in the floor (where the ship was welded together, I think) every time we walked down the hallway. My then-4-year-old son insisted on saying hello to every vacuum cleaner he saw (they had eyes and a smile and the name Henry on them).

OK, so we're walking down the hall to our room one night and my big one is in the lead doing his walk, walk, walk, hop routine and the little one is saying 'Hi, Henry' every 20 feet, when suddenly he says (in a high, squeaky voice that vacuum cleaners apparantly have) 'Hi, Matthew!' He then does a huge, head-thrashing, whole body double take and says to me (in his regular voice), 'Mommy, how did that Henry know my name?'

DH and I nearly wet ourselves...

Ha...love those Henry vacuums.....her a pic I had to take because nobody believed me when I said the vacuums had big smiles on them....

My story is actually pre-cruise for the West Coast Cruises in 2005 and is at DS's expense. We were spending 3 n at DL first and when we got to Paradise Pier our room wasn't ready but we had stuff we needed to get into in our luggage before heading to the parks. So we grabbed some lunch & then walked around the property for awhile killing time. We went out to look at the rooftop pool and came in & I called the front desk from the house phones by the elevators. In the meantime, while I was on the phone, DS (8 at the time) went ahead & got into the glass front elevator that faced the lobby and proceeded to get stuck! Alone! :scared1: We'd been in CA like all of 2 hours and here he was in this elevator for the whole world below to watch. Alone...you could see the crowd gathering & other Mom's asking "where are his parents"?!:scared: :rotfl2: Duh. Watching. OMG. I called the front desk again...security came...engineering came...the manager came...the fire dept. - nobody could get the doors to open and it would'nt move! He's in a total panic - jumping up & down...crying....screaming! And everybody watching. It was a real show! They finally had to call the Otis elevator people to come out & they went onto the roof of it & got it to go up a floor & then got the doors open.:sad2: It's funny NOW...but boy did we think what an omen we were going to have for the whole trip! The whole week on the ship he just wanted to take the stairs everywhere!:rotfl2:

OMG....Our DD had a very similar story years ago at the World Trade Center in NYC (wow, it's had to belive they are gone now) :( :( . Hubby works for the Port Authority and at the time was stationed at the WTC. We were on our way to the annual holiday Christmas Party and were rushing as there was tons of traffic.....DD who was probably about 7 or 8 at the time went through the revolving doors first (this is during rush hour so tons of workers coming and going throug the doors) and somehow a businessman was rushing and pushed his way in the compartment with her, seemingly rushing to an appointment...well somehow DD's sneaker got wedged in the rubber stripping that surrounds the the revolving door and the sides of the door frame....essentially trapping her and the businessman in that section of the door. The door would not move forward or back as her foot was jammed in there pretty tight. We saw the look of panic on our DD's face and then saw the businessman who was starting to flip out as well. We had to call security and a course a crowd gathered to watch the little girl and the frantic businessman get sprung from the door. Security then called maintenance and maintenance stood there shaking their heads....they had never seen that before. They had to take apart the whole door to free them. Luckily DD was not hurt (except her pride) but was terribly embarassed. The businessman was just ticked off....I don't think he liked kids very much!!! We tried to hold our laughter as not to make our DD feel bad but it was just too comical. Needless to say, to this day DD now 24 has a fear of revolving doors and avoids them whenever she can.

My then 4 year old DD sleeps wonderfully at home, but has always (sometimes notoriously) been a horrible sleeper when we travel. Every night of our 7 day cruise (except the last, as you will see) it was a struggle to get her to go to sleep, and I'm not talking 7:30, I'm talking 10 PM, 11 PM.

Finally, I figured out that they just ran a just a picture of the Magic between movies on the TV. I would tell her that a movie was just about to start (I made sure though that we had at least 1/2 hour) and she would finally drift off, just looking at the picture of the ship :rolleyes1.

So, the last night, DH and I realize that we have not been to any of the adult areas on the ship, so we decide after dinner to drop the kids at the club, and go enjoy a drink or two.

Around 10 we go to pick up the kids, and there's my DD, in the middle of the floor, with kids running all around her, fast asleep. There was one little girl sitting next to her, who sadly told us when we took DD away, "but we were going to play when she wakes up!"

DD (now 7) roars with laughter everytime we tell her that story.

P.S. She still sleeps horribly when we travel. Hoping to go again this summer (kids sail free! yipee), and I don't know if I'll get away with the picture of the ship again. Maybe I'll just have her fall asleep in the kids club every night.

I saw this thread and this one just popped into my head...

I should preface by saying that as soon as my oldest started handling his "bathroom time" by himself at 3 or so, I always kept a container of "wipies" of some sort in our bathroom to help my kids with personal hygiene.

The first time we cruised DCL it was during the huge cruise ship Norwalk Virus scare, when they had recently had to take the Magic out of service for a week just to clean it because so many people were becoming ill. This was the talk of the news, the boards, everywhere. I came prepared with Lysol, antibacterials, you name it.

The first day on board, my DS (8 at the time) came wandering out after using the bathroom looking perplexed and slightly uncomfortable. He wandered around for a few minutes looking more and more ill at ease and finally said "Mom, those wipes you brought are burning me." A little checking revealed he had used the CLOROX bleach wipes! Doubt he's been THAT clean before or since!

A few years ago on our first cruise our DD was 3 years old. Now my DD has always been perfectly well behaved. We had taken her to many 4 and 5 star restaurants prior to the cruise all with no incidents. She is a quiet child with a big, beautiful smile. We had a WONDERful 4 days onboard. No problems in the clubs or at dinner.

Well, at the end of the cruise we gathered our luggage and were walking through the parking lot to our vehicles. My DD innocently asked "where are we going?" I replied the cruise is over...we are going home.

She screamed "NOOOOOOOO!!!! I don't want to leave" With that she started walking back toward the ship. There we were 7 adults with luggage trying to chase down a wayward 3 year old. Once caught, she did the "limp noddle" thing that kids do. She would not budge.

I had to physically carry my little girl to the van and strap her in. You would have thought we were kidnappers!!! We were all panting, laughing and sweating from capturing our stowaway wantabe!

My Funniest Disney Cruise memmory was at the sailaway party first day on Deck 9. Myself DH,two DD,DS & DN. We all decided to order Drinks from one of the nice waiters who carry the trays on their head. Well i decided i wanted a strawberry Daquari mixed w/ pinacolada. So he mixes the two in one glss. He's doing his little show danceing around spinning the tray on his head to mix my wonderful drink. Were all clapping. Meanwhile DH if filming this. Then you see the tray go flying off his head. Just as this older lady wearing all white is walking by. Yes you guessed it she was competely covered in my drink. Red & white all over her. We could not get my four kids to stop laughing all under the age of 17. I felt so bad for the waiter he could not stop apoligizeing, and kept saying this has never happened before. We all were laughing at this point. We helped him clean up the mess. Then he brought us all free drinks later. He found us,and he asked to see the tape of the incident. He laughed harder then we did. he was the nicest guy. The whole cruise we would see him and talk with him about the incident.

Just remember to stand back while ordering drinks on the cruise lol.:rotfl2:

My story is pre-cruise. It was night before we left home and I was frantic to get to the bank before it closed. I explained that I needed to get cash for our trip and the bank was closing in like 4 minutes.

We're driving, each red light I start to panic more watching the minutes tick by on the clock...

My son(10 at the time) says "Tacos & burritos is open". I say "Great so we just go get burritos instead? and when we need to buy anything we just ask so how much would that be in burritos?" The image that popped into my head (a purse full of burritos)... We were all laughing so hard... I almost pee'd my pants. It was great to take away my stress.

3 years later everytime we drive by the Tacos & burritos we just have to laugh. Now we are preparing again to go on dcl and my son says "Don't forget to stop at the Tacos and burritos!"

Just got back from my first Disney Cruise....had gone with a good friend and her husband's good friend. Anyway during the entire trip, her husband's GF kept saying that he doesn't dance, can't dance and will not dance.....anyway....one day while we drinking and chatting at Wavebands, a song comes on...this GF lets out a yelp and explains to us that it reminds him of a scene from "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" w/Adam Sandler....anyway at the same time....a lady runs up to our table, grabs his hand and says "lets dance"...of course, we encourage him to do so...LOL

Anyway...when he comes back to the table...I say to my friend...did you get that on video...she says she sure did....long story short....it's on youtube and he still can't find it....LOL!

Teasing my kids for a month before the cruise that I was going to order "Roast Donald Duck" for dinner on board.........and discovering:scared1: ROAST DUCK :scared1:on the menu the very first night.:lmao:

This one made me laugh SOOOOOOO hard, my stomach hurts. Wow, if the guy brought your family free drinks, I can't imagine what DCL did for the lady who needed a new outfit! :lmao: You need to post that video on youtube...I'd love to see it!

I just wanted to post that after several trips to the bathroom and lots of tissue for my tears, that you have all made my NIGHT!!!!! I have not laughed that hard in a long time! Thank you all very much and keep them coming!:lmao:

I can just imagine this. That is so cute!

My whole extended family was on the 7night western with two stops at CC in OCT 06. We were in port at Costa Maya, after dinner me and my grandparents were walking outside along deck 4 before the show for the evening. While we were out there the carnival ship across the dock from us was leaving port. My grandfather who was pretty liquored up from the Mexican cantinas noticed this and started screaming at them...

"YOUR BOAT IS FLOATING AWAY. YOU ARE DRIFTING OUT TO SEA. YOU ARE ALL GONNA DIE!!! HAHA SUCKERS!!!" so on and so forth.

As embarrasing as he was we all found it quite hilarious. Until we heard a lady ask what looked like her husband, ask nervously (and rather loudly) "we are floating away Intentionallyright?"

My DH and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon. So needless to say I had some pretty night time pj's. One particular day the swells were really bad. We went to dinner and decided to go back to the cabin to sleep. I am notorious for "half doing things." Apparently I did not secure the door all the way. Since the boat was really rocking the door swung open at some point during the night. Here we are laying in bed asleep with the door wide open and people walking right past our room. Needless to say I was dressed in my honeymoon nighties:scared1: Not knowing who saw us I was even more embarressed thinking did he see me...did she see me...??? :lmao:

well this is not as funny as some of the others I've read but here's mine.

So I did a back-to-back cruise Feb 21st-Mar 7th, 2009.

Anyway the first night of the second cruise I was wearing adidas shoes and these shoes sometime when I walk stick to the floor for some unknown reason when I walk sometimes so I am walking to Diversions and get welcomed back again by Tisa and DJ Dan and as they welcome me back I trip, it was all good though after it happened Tisa and DJ Dan were like "Don't worry no one saw that"

that shoes I was wearing are the ones I am wearing in this picture so you have a better idea what you look like
