POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

I think you might want to ask for adjoining rooms. I know there is a difference, but I can never remember which is which. One has a door between them and the other is next to each other.......Anyways, these questions should probably be asked on the Groovier New Pop Thread (read the 1st page, it wil ltell you all you need to know) . This thread is supposed to be about the updates to the refurbs.

CONNECTING rooms, are CONNECTED by a door.

ADJOINING rooms are just beside each other (though, of course, connecting rooms are also adjoining).

Does anyone have any information on the refurb to the 50's Building 1 and 2? Has it been started, completed or in progress?

Thanks.

I just got back on Monday, we were on the second floor of building 1 and it was not refurbed. From the endless racket upstairs, it sounded like they were working on the 3rd floor. I also didn't see many other guests so I think they were working on 3 and 4 above us.

So, if they are working on Bldg 1, does that mean Bldg 2 is complete? From what I've read, it seems like they are working on one building at a time?

Sorry about all the questions, its time for me to make a decision and make my room request.

Thank you for your help.

At Pop Century this week.

I'm in building 3 (50s), per my room request, on the ground floor in a refurbed room. There is a new carpet, very thick new comforters, privacy curtain (which is actually good for blocking light for sleeping children when you get up early), and flat panel TV on top of new furniture.

Since Monday the refurb work has been going on all along the top floor of building 1 (50s).

If I don't get preferred...will I regret it?? Are the non preferred a long walk from food court and bus stop?? I would like a refurbed room...so if getting preferred ot not getting preferred makes a difference with getting a newer room, I'd be interested in that too.
Thanks!

now, this is MY opinion ONLY.
the 60's section used to be preferred. NOW it is (well, check out the map in a previous post), but parts of the 50', parts of the 60's parts of the 70's. so my opinion is, if you are on the first floor, or even the 2nd, you are closer to the food court, etc. but itf you are in the preferred 50'
s section, 3rd floor, you are STILL going to walk BACK to the elevator. so, in reality, if you are 6 rooms away from the elevator, you are no closer to the food court than the person 6 rooms away from the elevator in the OTher direction (no preferred) get what I mean?
2nd floor, I'll use the staircase).
so, I wouldn't bother paying extra for preferred room. at movies, we paid extra, we were on the 3rd floor, dalmations section, with a parking lot view. (I had mistakenly thought we would be in Fantasia, which USED to be the preferred).
if you need to use the elevator, I would request close to it. but those can be noisier.
this is just my opinion. I don't think it's worth the extra money, unless you are on the first or 2nd floor.
we like the 50's since the bowling pin pool is realy big.
but this time we requested the 80's section, since we never stayed there before, and it would be different. the resort isn't THAT big (not like POR).

This past week, they were working on the 4th floor of building one. From the bowling pin pool I saw that to the rooms right of Lady, mousekeeping was adding anything to the rooms to the left of Lady they were bringing in large boxes, the tvs and painting the doors, on thurday night, I saw everylight and tv was left on in the rooms ( left of lady) my guess is that they do this to test anything out. I took pictures and I will post them tomorrow. I also saw them painting outside of the rooms in building 4 and refur. The icons on building 2. I saw lots of workers everyday doing different things.

I am at Pop right now in building 3 got a king size bedroom and its wonderful!

I was just at Pop last week. I cannot say for certain but I got the impression that building 2 remains to be done, plus all the reports I was reading before I left said that buildings 1 and 2 remained to be done.

I witnessed refurb work in progress all along the 4th floor of building 1.

If you are interested in the 50's buildings, request building 3. That is what I requested and I got a refurbed room. That building is complete.

Does anyone know how many 'king' rooms there are per building? Thanks in advance!!
