For getting refurbed preferred request 60s or 70s both those decades are done... requesting the 50's preferred rooms is 50 / 50 one set of preferred rooms is done, one set is not
Ok now I'm totally confused. We leave next week and I wanted 50's section in the building that has room numbers starting with 3. Specifically like room 3161, 3162 ect. We have preferred room. Is that building 3 and are they refurbed? Thanks, it doesn't take much to confuse and old lady!

Well, I'd settle even for that at this point. It was just too hot the end of Sept/early Oct last year. I need Nov or Dec!
I have stayed at POP several times prior to refurb and I don't remember there being any bedding other than the comforters and the sheets. However, I saw someone post somewhere on the DIS today that they chose not to use the comforter because it was too heavy and used the "other blanket" only. Is this a new edition (an extra blanket?) and if so, what kind is it? I ask because we get very hot while sleeping and often take a lightweight blanket to use instead of the provided bedspread. It'd be nice to not have to add our blanket to our packing list! Thanks!![]()
It's like a polar fleece blanket. It should have always been there. Sheet, fleece blanket and then top comforter. I always pull down the top comforter and use fleece blanket only.
Thanks for the info! I can't believe I don't remember that after all my stays there... it must have been all the excitement that made me forget!![]()
Ummmm I was just there. I think we have a semantics problem. There is and never has been a comforter. Its a bedspread. The bedspread is a bit less ugly than the old one, but its still a bedspread with a artificial polyester backing. A comforter doesn't go all the way to the floor and is quite a bit thicker than a bedspread and usually is paired with a bed skirt. Or, a comforter can be tucked inside a duvet cover, such as in the CSR. See this thread...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2459923
I did not find the blanket (which is not technically polar fleece either), its a poly-flannel like substance, to be very comfortable. My DD didn't sleep with it. We pulled both the bedspread and the blanket down and used her lightweight soft fleece Tinkerbell blanket that we brought with us. I wished I'd brought a blanket for myself.
Sorry.. us home-ec people get picky about our fabric terms!
68 more days til 5 mights at Saratoga Springs and 1 night at Pop.![]()
When I first posted my question, I actually had the thought that someone would bring up the difference between a bedspread and a comforter. I didn't REALLY think it would happen, yet funny how something crosses your mind and then becomes a reality! Either way, I am just 7 days out from sleeping in a room with a bedspread that includes artificial polyester backing and a blanket made with a poly-flannel like substance!![]()
