Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

For the 28th which only hotel guest can book right now, Tiana is gone, Jungle cruise is available at 6 pm, both mountains have 9 o clock available. On August 1 Tiana is available for 3, Jungle for 11, and both mountains at 9. So resort guests definitely impact, but not all tier 1 is gone.

Can you see because you are able to book now? Did you get what you wanted?

Just sitting here watching the app for today -another observation/prediction, people will need to spend as much time or more on phones as with Genie+ refreshing and hoping times open-there are so many attractions with no availability left would have plenty of availability with Genie+ at this same time.
But with Genie+, you did not have three attractions already reserved by the time you arrived :).

So if I truly have no intention of riding any of the tier 2s (park hopping after a few hours), I'm best served by only booking the tier 1 I want and doing it as early as possible, and leaving the other 2 empty. Then hope for another tier 1 at this park and then 2 more for the evening park and booking all 3 after scanning at 1st attraction.
This is a scenario I'm very intrigued by and hoping someone can confirm this is allowed. It's not been clear to me if you have to book 3 before making additional bookings day-of.

If the "big" rides with virtual queues are going to go so quickly with most off-site people not standing a chance at getting them, Disney needs to remove these rides from virtual queue and allow people to wait in a stand-by line if they choose.

Not sure I understand, since VQs are selected day-of. All guests have the same opportunity, unless I'm missing something in your post.

Is anybody there right now who can confirm something for me? Once you scan into your first Multi Pass attraction (even if your first reservation was a Tier Two attraction), can you book another attraction in any park in ANY tier? THANK YOU!

That does create a different situation than the FP+ days when something would sell out (without refreshing). Interesting point.

How many of those guests will get virtual queue though? And then they can't get it booking ahead either? I think stand-by should be offered at this point for rides with virtual queue.
I'm just saying, all guests have equal opportunity to book a VQ, onsite or off. It's completely unrelated to the new LL system.

At some point, the VQs will go away - it's just a controlled standby line for the most popular attractions, to avoid the 4-5 hour standby lines.

But I would get 8-10 Genie rides easily at MK and my first selection was a time I wanted. And with stacking for an afternoon arrival I would have at least 3 attractions reserved by the time I arrived and usually more.
Pros and cons for sure!

I think it’s different because if you’re shut out of the ILL/LL without an on-site stay, you now only have the VQ at your disposal to ride. With Genie+, you had 2 options with the ILL/LL being for the most part not a lottery like system so you could pay your way in.

I understand what virtual queues are.
Optics are worse this way though, guests being "shot down" twice for these rides. Off-site won't have the same chances anymore for the same rides since on-site can book before them. Before it was equal, now it is not.

Understood.

So it's a perk to stay on-site? I think that's on purpose!! There have been people pushing for more on-site perks.

We don't have to be in the parks for this answer. Disney already covered this use case.

On the day of your park visit, once you redeem a Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection (or once the arrival window has passed), you can use the My Disney Experience app to check availability for another Lightning Lane Multi Pass experience—and add to your plans.

You can make one at a time until regular park closing (subject to availability). If your park admission includes Park Hopper benefits, you can even choose a Lightning Lane Multi Pass experience in a different theme park.
