New Roadway Paved, Guard House Covered in Sheathing at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Crews have laid asphalt or concrete on the new roadway entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

The roadway was paved a couple of weeks ago, creating a clear view of how it will lead up to the Great Ceremonial House. This new roadway entrance is off Floridian Way. The current Seven Seas Drive entrance will become a bus entrance.

Though it was paved a few weeks ago, the roadway is now mostly covered by sand or dirt. New lampposts were installed lining the road. Actual lights haven’t been added yet.

Fresh dirt was then laid in the median between two lanes.

Guard House

The guard shack’s framework is now covered by sheathing, creating actual walls and a roof. There’s a doorway facing the road and window openings all around. The roof shape approximately matches the porte-cochere of the resort, as seen in the background.

Construction on the new entrance and other Polynesian improvement projects will continue through 2026.
