I hope your TA has booked that correctly and its the Grand Californian as the port of LA is a long way from the Grand Floridian, ( I know its the heat)

No heat here. It's COLD and RAINY today in the Chicagoland area. As a matter of fact, we are also on a wind advisory for this afternoon. Sheesh, as much as I hate heat, I wish summer would just get here already.

Great joke about driving from the Grand Floridian, though! :)

Okay, I just read all 43 pages, but have a few questions. For those of you flying in a day or two before the Eastbound, where are you staying? What kind of transfers are available? I am familiar with the routine at Port Canaveral, but not in LA.

Coming in on August 13th and staying at the Grand Californian. Have booked transfers with Super Shuttle for the airport to Disney and then from the GF to the port on Sunday for the cruise.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Well after a few cold moths, it really warmed up this week and we have been very above average, my in house thermometers have reached 27c 80f today thats hot for mid May.

Getting back to the thread, I have been in tow minds this weekend on Acapulco, I book next Sunday. Its my third visit to Acapulco and whilst I have every other port sorted out, I cannot make my mind up, and basically its down to the breakfast time we are in port there.

I am leaning towards doing it myself, the fort is just across the road, by a footbridge and the market two blocks back, I can do that and the Cathedral easy without problem and thats most of the Acapulco city tour, bar the cliff divers. Its just when they open said to be 9.30am.

They are OK, but if you have seen it once you will not want to see it again, last time we did the Dolphins at Cici really enjoyed that, but do not wish to repeat that either.

So unsure if to book or not.

Is there Disney transportation of any kind available from LAX to the Disney hotels? I am debating about possibly staying closer to the port and finding and In n Out Burger for my husband to try!

There is the normal Disneyland buses, they can take you, best to cal DCL direct, but I have booked a private transfer, after 11.5 hours on a plane I just want to get there!

I am staying @ Disneyland Hotel @DL,Aug 13th, I have booked my own transfers, but last time I booked transfers through DCL and they picked my party up at 11.15am at Grand Californian hotel, took luggage at 8am.

I am also staying at the DL hotel arriving on the 13th! I am so excited. Have you stayed there before? We splurged and are staying in a conceirge room as I will be by myself with the 4 oldest kids until Friday and they can just go grab some food whenever they want if I am stuck in the room with some work issues. I can also go to the lounge and grab some coffee and breakfast as I am an early morning riser and they AREN'T!

I decided with 4 kids (3 of them teens), the cost of the upgrade is probably well made up by the food we won't have to buy in the parks. (At least that is what I am telling myself to justify the expense.)

Father Mike,

Maybe you missed my offer on the other thread. You can hitch a ride with us. It will only be 7 of us and probably 14 suitcases and about 10 carry ons. I put you down to carry an extra bottle of wine for me..;) I am sure we can squeeze you in somewhere. :)

I have been to Disneyland CL twice before, first offsite, the second in 2005 at the Grand Californian and this time my third will be at the Disneyland hotel, so its my first time staying there.

However I have been inside it before, having two meals at Goofys Kitchen and also looking around the shops, I wanted a change this time and so went for it, Paradise pier is a little further, I also had a meal there but preferred DL hotel.

I have booked a top floor room, we do not plan to be in it much as most of the time will be in the Parks, so concierge will not be useful for us.

We have used this service many times and will be using it again in August when we arrive on the 14th. No reservation required. Buses show up at the airport about every 1/2 hour. You just go to the shuttle spot just outside the luggage pickup doors. It's a big air-conditioned bus - you can't miss it - it has Disney all over it. You tell the driver which hotel, and then board. They stop at the DL hotel to collect payment or vouchers and then take you to the various hotels. You can purchase a one way or roundtrip ticket . They stop at hotels near Knott's Berry and around the DL Resort. It's about a 45 min. ride to the DL Hotel.

Its interesting to know, -in 2005 DCL used these DISNEYLAND buses to take people to the port, it was very nice, they were intermixing short programmers about DCL, with Disney cartoons to keep the kids happy, after 40 odd mins we turned off the freeway and there was the Disney magic in front of us.

Hmmm. Does Super Shuttle do refunds? Because I already paid for both transfers.

Thanks for the info. We're at HoJos(like so many) and was looking for some way to get there. I was also checking on SuperShuttle.

As soon as we get our vacation locked in tomorrow, I'm booking!!! I'm so excited. We're going to do the cat 12 gty to start and may upgrade later if available. I'm just happy to be going!!!

Hi all,

combination of the unexpected warm weather and possibly the wine my neighbour gave us through the fence.

Understand from Disney they do not offer transport from the airport to the hotels and this was confirmed as we booked using our DVC points. We are using the Disney bus transport as there is only two of us better value than super shuttle for us.

Do I understand this correctly? Disney does NOT have busses from the Airport to Disneyland Grand California?

They do not have Officialy Disney busses, but if you read earlier in the thread, Greyline offers a Disneyland shuttle directly from the LA airport to any of the Disney Hotels. Read back and you will find the website. :)

No worries!!!!
