Caribbean Beach or Coronado Tower

Need advice on whether to switch from Coronado (tower) to CBR. We will be spending most time at Epcot and DHS. CBR us slightly more. Any very recent experiences with both? Also, worried there will be a convention at CSR in June.

With your plan for Epcot & HS, I’d go for CBR. Be aware though of afternoon storms and Skyliner closures.

I love the tower at CSR, well the whole resort really, but the tower especially because it’s self contained. For food, Three Bridges is fantastic as is Toledo.

Agreed, in your situation, CBR could work much better. If EP and HS are your primary parks, the convenience of Skyliner (as long as you're ok riding Skyliner - not everyone is!) is very valuable.

I love Coronado, but if you want to take advantage of the Skyliner then Caribbean Beach might be better for you.

I have been at CSR during conventions, and while it's busy, they seem to handle the crowds okay. I wouldn't let that part of it be a deterrent (just know if you want to make dining reservations, they might fill up). I agree with PP, Three Bridged and Toledo are fantastic! Barcelona Lounge is also great.

Comes down to what you value more, convenience to 2 parks, or a better hotel experience.

CBR obviously wins for the transportation to those two parks.

I think I have the tower winning in almost everything else, but it's subjective. CSR has a better selection of lounges, bars and restaurants, but Banana Cabana and Sebastians at CBR are no slouches. I think I preferred the main pool at CSR more, but we are more quiet pool people anyway. Transportation to the other two parks can really depend on your location at CBR, for the tower its short covered walk to the bus stop. It is the last stop on the way to and from the parks (it is first stop for springs though), we never had a seat when rope dropping a park because it was the last stop. We appreciated the walkway being covered and that the stop was by the old main lobby that had a bottle filler.

I honestly don't think you can go wrong at any Disney moderate. I can give pros/cons for everyone.

I’d do the tower. Any lightening takes down the Skyliner and the bus brought in to replace the Skyliner route takes forever to get going. Rideshares at CSR pick up and drop off from the tower so I supplement transport with rideshares when I stay there. (Although last month I was pleasantly surprised with morning transport and had no complaints, others will take a short walk over to the first bus stop to be picked up. Tower is last stop but in the morning they dispatched extra buses for just the tower sometimes.) If the weather turns there are a few restaurants and lounges within the Tower so you don’t have to get drenched trying to get a bite or a drink.

And the rooms are SO much nicer.

Did you check if Swolphin has any deals for your dates? They add on the resort fee now when pricing but if you have a car you have to remember the daily parking charge.

I was not impressed at all with Caribbean Beach when I was there last. The rooms are in rough shape.

OP, I know you didn't mention this, but POFQ is a very short bus ride to both DHS and Epcot--maybe 10 minutes, max--and POFQ very rarely shares buses. I stay there all the time these days and have shared a bus with POR exactly once in the last 4 years. And the rooms are all newly renovated.

I love POFQ but no availability our dates.

I think I’m going to stick with the CSR. Thank you everyone!
