I am tired of the dreariness this week.
Me too!

Dentist this morning (small filling) then putting together Easter baskets for the "kids" - DS, his girlfriend, our bonus kid, and of course the cat  .

I finally got an appointment for the other thing... on Tuesday. Oh well, at least it's in the calendar.

Easter will be at MIL's - just 8 of us this year, and I only have to bring a dessert DH can have. My go-to pie with the nut crust and sugar-free pudding is out because nobody seems to carry the crusts anymore, but I might make it as little cups with sugar-free cookies on the bottom instead. Maybe I'll see if I find anything inspiring online.

Good morning. Rained again overnight, might have showers this morning, then clearing up. 51 now going to 81, tomorrow is supposed to be at least 85, then Easter will be 60 with chance of rain.

I just mowed on Monday and the grass is so tall, it needs to be done again, but I have to wait for it to dry out first.

It's getting harder for me to keep up with all the yard work on top of the stuff inside that has to be done.

Summer called me last night to tell me that she's added yet another inspection job to the 2 she already does. This guy wanted her to take over someone else's route because the man was getting too old to do it. He gave her 69 cases that have to be done. She'll make good money on them, but they don't take out taxes (she is considered a sub contractor), so she's going to have to make sure to have extra state taxes taken out of her husbands pay to make it even out at the end of the year. The man told her she can do these 2 days a month, make the drive, do a bunch at one time, and she should be able to do it on the weekends. The other job can't be done on the weekends, but she also can't always be on the road and not at home.

She wants to do it long enough to get all caught up with their bills (such as elec about to be disconnected yet again, and a huge phone bill due today. She also 'forgot' that rent was due yesterday and her husband doesn't get paid until next week, and then it will only be for 4 days of working. :( Not a good way to live.

My delivery issues are getting out of hand. I had a Fed Ex delivery due yesterday, by 2:10. At 6 I see a Fed Ex van pull up across the street and a lady gets out. She can barely lift the heavy Chewy box. Gets to the bottom of the steps coming up the bank, and the dog next door was barking, as he always does when he sees a delivery truck. She yells to me, is this #....? I said yes. She said is this your package. I said do you see the number on my house, in 3 places? If you do, then yes that's my pkg. She's keeping her eye on the dog, who is on the other end of the neighbors porch, chained up. "If that dog breaks free, I'm dropping your pkg and running." I told her he wasn't going to break free, and if she dropped my pkg and ran, I would be filing a complaint. The dog was no where near her, he's chained with a heavy chain. She comes up the walk, up the steps, and dumps the box on it's side on the porch, after I told her to lay it down the right way. When I opened the box, the 30 lb bag of dry cat food was broken open and the tray of cat food cans had 4 dented one. Chewy is replacing the bag and the cans. What is wrong with all of these delivery people lately?

Not doing much of anything today unless it dries out quickly.

Have a Good Friday

Just a quick pop in. I will most likely be absent for a few days.

We made the sad decision to put my dad in hospice. They had to do a rapid response several times today because he is having trouble maintaining his blood pressure and his temperature. His room was like a sauna while I was there. Heat was cranked up, he was on a warming blanket and wrapped in blankets like a mummy and they still couldn't get his temps above 94. After a lot of discussions with the care team and each other we reached the sad conclusion to put him in hospice, bring him home as soon as they can stabilize him and surround him with love for whatever time he has left. The one dr. said he may not last the week. My heart is breaking as I type this update. I am thankful for the 11 years we have had him after his cancer that the drs. didn't think he would survive, but it still hurts to know my superhero finally found his Kryptonite. We aren't a super demonstrative family but I was able to tell him I love him as I left both times today, I hope he heard me.

I’m so sorry to read this. Our family is going thru something similar, tomorrow we will be removing my FIL from a ventilator…the last 10 days have been a rollercoaster from hell. I wish your father , your mother, you & your family peace.
What a ****ty week, huh? May we all come out on the other side w/ some sense of tranquility.

61 now going to 87. Never did get any rain yesterday despite the dark clouds that kept appearing. I managed to get the lawn completely mowed and my good neighbor is going to do the trimming later on this morning. That makes the third time in 2 weeks I had to mow, this crazy weather is making it grow so quickly.

I had bought a new tv, that I never took out of the box, deciding it was way too big for what I needed. It was still unopened in the box, but no way could I get it in my car. Summer put it on the marketplace and some guy responded right away, and then kept trying to lower the asking price of $300, which was lower than I paid to start with. He offered $150 and Summer told him that wasn't even worth considering. The second guy took it for the full asking price. Summer stopped here on her way home from doing inspections and helped me drag the box into the kitchen. I didn't want the guy walking through my house to get to the room I had it sitting in. He had a van and they had a heck of a time fitting that huge box in there, but they managed, trying to work around 2 babies in car seats in the third row, 2 little ones in the second seat and a little boy in the front seat, lol.

I'm stripping the bed and washing the sheets, taking the elec blanket off the bed and washing that before putting it away for the winter. I'll do a quick clean of the bathroom and then I'm not doing anymore chores today.

Enjoy your day
