Oprah's 12wk Boot camp??

I know I'm a little late but I'm starting Oprah's bootcamp tomorrow. :cool1:

I'm hoping I can stick to it but I don't cook so finding good foods for me to eat is gonna be interesting :confused3

Welcome First Timer!!! Don't worry, I don't cook much either :-) I eat low cal protien shakes, raisins, bananas, grapefruit, veggies, almonds, tuna, salads, chicken breast on foreman grill, low carb soups, etc - you'll do fine!!

MONDAY MORNING WEIGH IN: down 1 more pound! whew!! I feel like it was such a hard pound to earn. So, I am 2/3 of the way there. 14 pounds in 7 weeks - sounds slow, but I guess that is the type of weight loss you want. I KNOW I have lost tons of inches! 5 weeks to go........

So, my downfall is planning or lack thereof.

Since I didn't plan what to eat for breakfast, I ended up just having coffee (w/ no sugar). Then for lunch I had a chicken sausage sandwich (now this sandwich is on a hoagie and topped off with french fries). :guilty:

I washed it down with an uptown (half lemonade/half iced tea). It was soooo good.

On the plus side, I did cut it in half and gave the other half to my co-worker. Yeah if I go down I'm taking others with me :rotfl:

Dinner should be good, DH is making chicken + veggies for me. I'm gonna weigh in after my workout tonight.

I ache all over. :goodvibes

I made the mistake of going to the gym right after work so by the time I got done and got home to eat dinner it was 8:30pm, which is an hour later than Oprah's deadline. Buuut, I did eat healthy, green beans and some healthy cut up chicken DH made. He's a chef so I'll have to trust him when he said that it was healthy cause booooy was it good, it took what little willpower I have left tonight, only to eat a fistful.

I'm going to the gym at 5am tomorrow so I should be on track.

However, I did forget to weigh myself at the gym and the scale here has mysteriously disappeared.

I know I know Im so slow at this, but finally down a couple more pounds and 2 whole inches! Im very excited this week as you can see!!!! :cool1:   :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: :cool1:

Ok that makes how many weeks? I forget. Are we on 7 or 8 by now. Oh well that gives me a total of 12lbs!

Im sorry I almost forgot to say hello, welcome and good luck! Im really glad your a late starter. There were alot in the beginning but now just a few are pretty regular. I was hoping to continue on past the 12 weeks until I reach my goal so im glad to see there will be some company!

I was slow to start too. I had a heck of a time getting rid of pastas and such but now its gotten alot easier. I still havent mastered 8 workouts a week either. Im sure If I had the loss would be better. However I exercising alot more than before I started this, and its up to 6 times a week.

Im glad you joined!

There is a 4:30am. Who knew :confused3 , all this time I thought it was a myth but sure enough I found myself up this early and getting ready to work out. Maaan, this is gonna take some getting used to but there was some joy in getting my workout over with early in the morning. Until I realized this was my double day and I still have to workout after work. :rotfl2:

Hi guys... I am back after a wonderful week off ( we were on our cruise and WDW after ) I didn't think about Oprah at all... :goodvibes but I am back on track today.

I am not sure if I want to weigh-in today or if it will upset me too much because I am sure Oprah didn't mean the water intake should be the crushed ice in those fruity drinks those #@% disney people keep bringing me ;) :rotfl: O'well that is behind me back to BOOTY CAMP.

Welcome FirstTimer, we love those who are willing to suffer along with us. I will think of you tomorrow when I am at the gym at 5:45 too.

:wave2:

I never would have thought that waking up at 5:45 makes me the "late sleeper" :rotfl2:

hi
Can I join this thread? I just started the oprah boot camp monday. I had actually started back when the show was on but only did the exercising. Now I am doing all of it! I need to get my butt in gear and exercise again this week I was doing so good til this week!!!
Michelle

On the days when you do the double workout, are you supposed to do both workouts at the same time or come back later to do the second one. Today, I woke up early and did the first one then after work I went back to the gym and did the second one. Now, I'm not sure if that wass right. :confused3

I do either, which ever fits into my schedule better... I hope that is right. But I have been seeing results so I guess it's okay.

The more the merrier. I have to get my butt in gear to. I haven't missed a day of the exercise but I am lacking in the eating, sugar and water.

:moped:

Morning snack
half a small can of peaches (the peaches are in water w/ splenda)
Breakfast
Fistful of eggs
2 pieces of turkey bacon
Mid morning snack
half a banana
Lunch
side salad
Afternoon snack
half a banana
Dinner
Fistful of chicken
10 string beans
Last snack
10 peanuts

Am i eating enough, too much or what? :confused3

Firsttimer - It doesn't sound like a lot. Go to www.nutritiondata.com and figure out your calories. You want to make sure you are eating NO LESS than 1200 per day. I eat about 1300 per day, but some on the boards eat more. I am comfy with 1300.....

HI
I just weighed myself. I am down 1.5 pounds since monday! I hope it continues to go down! its beautiful here today so I am hoping to walk with my son and then go to curves. My husband is having a tooth pulled this morning so I hope I can get out and exercise this afternoon.
I am enjoying reading what everyone is eating. I find breakfast the hardest I dont' want to eat eggs everymorning. This mornign I had an apple with peanutbutter. yeserday I had yogurt with mango. that didn't have enough protien to keep me full.
Michelle

Ok see this is what's got me confused.

On Oprah's site it says to eat only 2 fruits a day and a fistful of each serving of food. Soooo when I eat my meals, I do that.

Today
Scrambled eggs (fistful)
2 pieces turkey bacon
Mid morning
coffee w/ splenda
Banana
Lunch
side salad w/ grilled chicken
Snack
orange
Dinner
Fistful chicken
10 string beans

Now according to what I think oprah is saying that should be all I eat but after my workout I do have
10 peanuts. :confused3

I don't wanna eat too much or too little cause both can be bad for you

Same here! Some days I can get up at 4:15 AM and do one of the workouts. On other days, I do them together.

I looks like you are only eating 1000 calories a day....you can't keep that up for long, plus it is not enough for a body that is doing 8 workouts a week! I would add MORE veggies and some dairy (low fat yogurt, cottage cheese). After a month, you can add some whole grains a few times a week, so that helps. Have a sugarfree fudgsicle for dessert - Oprah does! :-)
