have always called for my ADR in the past, is it "quicker" to do it on-line?

we are going for 10 days and want

CRT
Ohana
Les Chef de france
coral reef
brown derby w/fantasmic
sci fi
liberty tree tavern
tusker house
1900 park fare
grandview tea

what has worked best for you...

TIA!!

For Brown Derby/Fantasmic, you have to call in. If you just book Brown Derby online, you won't get Fantasmic.

I think the online ADRs open like an hour before the phone line, so if you're trying to book right at 180 days, you can book the online ones a bit sooner than calling in.

Online is much easier, frankly even though we stay CL on every trip I rarely have them book ADR's as it is much easier to do them myself as I know what alternate times will be acceptable and what will not. Just start with the harder to get ones (for time and place) and move on to the lesser ones.

Just be very aware of your times and dates. I recently made an online ressie and checked a week later and couldn't find it anywhere. Turns out I had made it on 9/9 instead of 12/9. I was making more than one ressie and and the date had changed back. I've also put in 8PM instead of 8am. Sometimes the excitment of it all makes you make mistakes.:rotfl: But it is quicker!!!:rolleyes1

thanks for all your input and help....19 more days til I can make my ADR's!

:lmao: I totally misread your post and thought you said you were GOING in 10 days and wanted CRT, Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, etc. My first thought was "Good luck with that!" ;)

I find the online reservation system quicker. When I've made ADRs on the phone it seems I always get a slowmo CM who takes forever and then tries to convince me to take a reservation for somewhere easy to reserve like Boatwright's when the ADR I requested is not available.

Online works great (though it does have some issues sometimes). It would be wise to take it for a test drive before the big moment just to get the feel of it. Plus, you don't have to do them in order. I choose my most important and do that one first and then back fill in the order of how popular they are.

If you're on the dining plan and you don't want to pay in full for CRT when you book it, make that one when you call for Fantasmic, too. The online system often doesn't recognize reservations with a dining plan and charges in full for the meal.

I also think that you cannot make reservations for the Garden View Tea Room online.

On line is quicker and easier. You put in the time you want and the restaurant. If the exact time you want isn't available, it will show you within (I think) 1hr before and 1hr after what times are available. Also, if the restaurant you want is booked, it will list alternative restaurants with openings.

I thought the same thing!!

Does this also hold true for the dinner shows?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can the CM on the phone search for ALL opening for a given date range for a restaurant? Maybe I am mis-remembering, but you can ask them to look for any opening for a restaurant for the week you'll be there and they can tell you all of the openings.

Online needs this ability.

:confused3Yes they can and I was online line checking the other day and also on the phone with the CM and she had one pop up that I could not get. I think they can get to the cancels quicker.

Yes. The online system often has trouble properly processing a prepaid reservation for guests on a dining plan.
