Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

The TTC is where a lot of offsite resorts/hotels drop their guests. There are also Disney buses there...they run to AK and DHS. There are no buses that run from resorts to the TTC...there really isn't any need. If you are at a WDW resort and need to get to the TTC, just take a bus, from your resort, to MK and then either monorail or boat over to the TTC.

What is the best way to get from Pop Century to Artist Point using Disney transportation and how long do you think the trip will take?

Two choices...
1. bus to DHS from POP and then transfer to the WL bus....about an hour, at most.

2. bus to MK, then boat over to WL...about an hour as well.

It all depends on what kind of trip you want. I would head to MK and take the boat over...very nice boat ride.

Or, just take a cab...would take about 15 or so mins.

We are coming down in Oct, staying at Fort Wilderness campground. We are bringing our little dog so we will need to go back to our camp for lunch each day and I wanted to make sure we chose the quickest route. From what I read we need to take the boat to MK and buses to Epcot, AK, and DHS, is that correct? And I am reading that the boat and buses all take about 20 min to travel between resorts and parks.

Yes, but don't forget you may have to wait up to 20 minutes for a bus or boat to arrive.

And unless you're renting a golf cart, you'll have to transfer to an internal shuttle to your campsite, which could take up to 20 minutes more (including both wait & travel time.)

Thanks Goofy4Tink. I think we will go with #2, since taking the boat sounds like fun!:)

We will be at DHS on Friday 8/26, and have an ADR for lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe at 12.

We will have a car, so we could just drive to DHS then drive to WL. How does that compare to just taking the bus to WL? How much time would we need driving vs. taking the bus?

Thanks for any help!

Okay, so going twice this month, first time leaving relatives to "rest" in FW Campgrounds and heading to EPCOT and MK solo.

I am thinkin:
1) FWC to EPCOT: Internal Bus to the Outpost - Grab bus to EPCOT.
2) EPCOT to MK: Monorail.
3) MK to FWC: Boat!

Someone told me that it may be faster to go to the FWC marina, take a boat to the WL and bus it to EPCOT from there.

Another someone told me that it's better to do the boat from FWC to the CR, monorail to TTC, TTC to EPCOT.

What do you guys think? :)

1.ADR @ Chef Mickey's at 7:10AM and staying at CBR. I know the buses don't start running until 6:30AM. Will this give us enough time?

2. Going from CBR to Ft. Wilderness to eat at Trail's End and go to campfire on our first night. We will have our own car. How do we get to FW and navigate to the restaurant and the campfire once we are there?

It will be quicker to take your car. Driving would take about 20 mins total, bus would be about double (includes wait times for the bus and then addition of possible other stops along the way).

FtW is not my strong point as far as transportation. It's the one and only place, onsite, that got me lost!! I would, most likely, take the internal bus to the main stop and then the bus to Epcot from there. But, again, I'm just not sure about timing to get to either the main stop or the marina area, using internal transportation.

Using the bus to get to CM's for a 7:10 ADR isn't going to work. You would have to be on a bus at 6:30, then walk back over to CR..yes, sometimes a driver will drop you off there, but it's not 100% sure. I would just take a cab that early.

I would drive to the TTC and then head over to MK and take the boat to FtW from there. Or, just drive to FtW and ask for directions when you get there.

Okay, so I'm kind of freaking out. I booked an appointment for my daughter at BBB at MK at 12:55pm for 9/22, and then an ADR at Akershus at 2:45pm! Guess I wasn't thinking straight when I made those ressies a few months back :sad2:

There's NO way we're going to make it to Akershus from MK on time is there? I already called BBB and tried to make an earlier appointment, but of course there aren't any earlier appointments, and there's no way we can change the ADR (it's completely booked).

We are seriously considering renting a car (not solely for the purpose of making this ADR, lol!) Would being able to drive ourselves to EPCOT save that much time?

Our only other option is going to DTD's BBB, but the whole reason I booked the MK BBB is because we were already going to be at MK because there's EMH there that morning, so I thought it would work out perfectly...

Any advice on what I should do?? TIA!!

There's a pretty good chance that BBB will be running behind. I doubt you'll make it. I don't think driving will save you any time either - it actually could take longer than just taking the monorail. I would keep trying to change one of them.

I doubt you'll make it...way too close. Is there any way you could make an appt for the DTD BBB late in the morning, and then bus it over to BW and walk in to Akershus that way?? If you can get a appt for noon or earlier, you may be fine.
Otherwise, just keep looking at the Akershus times online. One may open up for you.

That's what I was afraid of... Thanks ladies for the replies... I'll keep trying to change the reservations! :goodvibes

I'm sure this isn't the first time this has been asked, but I searched the thread and didn't see it, so please have patience with me if you've already answered this 1000 times!

We're going from HS to HDDR for the 5:00 show. Is the best route the bus to FW and then internal bus to Pioneer Hall? Or bus to MK and boat to FW?

And how long should we allow for the trip?

Thanks!

There's no bus from DHS to MK. You would have to take the bus to TTC, then the monorail or ferryboat to MK, and then the boat to FW.

My advice: take the bus from DHS to FW. If the bus stops at WL before FW (it usually does), get off at WL and take the FW bus from there. That will take you right to Pioneer Hall, and shave about 10-15 minutes off your travel time ... no need to mess with the FW internal shuttle.

Using this route, allow 1 hour from the DHS bus stop to the time you want to check in at HDD.

Why not the bus to the CR, and then boat over to FtW?? That's how I would do it. Or just head to WL from DHS and boat over to FtW.
I hate using the internal buses at FtW...they continue to confuse me. Much easier to just get off the boat, walk up the path and you're at Pioneer Hall.

Those are certainly both options, but the bus from WL to Pioneer Hall runs every 15 minutes and is only a 5 minute ride, so it would be the fastest IMO.

It's the boats that confuse me! :) I can never remember which direction the CR-FW-WL boat runs, how long it takes, nor how often it runs.

See, the way I figure it??? The boats have very nice signage that tells me where to stand. At WL, I stand on the right if I want to go to FtW, on the left if I'm going the other way. Boating for dummies!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks to you both and I am SOOO glad I asked the question, because I would have been leading the whole family astray with the MK bus thing.

So, sounds like bus to WL and then figure out boat or bus from there.

Thanks again; you really helped me out a lot!
