Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

All guests can use Disney transportation. Make sure that whoever is moving the car has the parking receipt from the AM so they won't have to pay again (and the keys, LOL.)

Not sure why you would walk to the BC, as you can catch the HS boat right outside the International Gateway. Probably take about 1/2 a hour or so, as it stops at all the Epcot area resorts, longer if you have a long wait for a boat.

Thank you!! We used to stay at the BC and I didn't realize there was a boat right at the IG. That will be alot more fun for the kiddos than getting back in the car. ;)

How do I get from the Wilderness Lodge (dinner at WCC) to Ft. Wilderness for the Sleigh Ride? About how long will it take?

What is the easiest/fastest way to get from Ft. Wilderness (Sleigh Ride) back to the Poly? About how long wil it take?

From WL to FtW, the fastest way is by bus. The bus runs about every 15 minutes, and the ride is less than 5 minutes. The bus drop-off at FtW is very close to the sleigh ride check-in.

There is also a boat; I don't know the frequency or travel time.

Back to the Poly, if the MK is still open, you can take a boat back to either MK or CR, and from there the monorail (or boat from MK) to the Poly. It can be up to 30 minutes to get to the MK or CR, and up to 25 more for the monorail, including wait times for both.

If the MK is closed, or open just for MVMCP, you can still take a boat to the CR until 11 p.m., but at this time it's unknown how you will get from there to the Poly. There may be a bus between CR & Poly, but details have not been announced yet.

Worst case is you'll have to take a bus from the sleigh ride to FtW Outpost (parking lot), another to DTD, and transfer there to Poly, which should take no more than an hour & 45 minutes. Or, if you're willing to pay for a cab, you can take the bus back to WL and taxi from there to Poly, which should cost around $5-$10, for a total time of about 25 minutes.

Hi everyone! Hubby and I are doing a pre-cruise stay at ASMo, we are going to be meeting some friends at Downtown Disney. Is there a bus from the resort that goes to DD?

We were also thinking of going to POR to see yeehaw Bob after we get back from seeing the friends, I know we can take a boat to POR from DD, but do we take the boat back to DD and then a bus to ASMo? Or will it be too late and nothing will be running (I would assume about 11pm). I would appreciate any help or guidance!

Yes!

Last boat leaves for DTD right around 11 p.m.; check with the captain on the way up to confirm the time. If you miss the last boat, the buses to DTD PI run until at least midnight, and the buses from PI to the resorts run until 2 a.m.

If Epcot or DHS are open late for EMH, you can take a bus to that park and transfer there. Either would be more direct than DTD.

Is there any sort of chart that lists the various places and how to get to the other places? This thread is huge. Someone needs to combine this into a nice easy list.

Check the very first post in this thread :goodvibes

If you have specific questions that the first post doesn't answer, this is a great place to ask.

No such thing as an 'easy list'. WDW is huge. There is no way to possibly list all the destinations and how to get to them from every other place.
If you have a question(s), then just ask here. That's why the thread is so long. Each person asks their question, about their particular need, and gets an answer. Simple. This thread isn't meant to be read all the way through to get the necessary info.

How far is it to walk from Boardwalk to the Studios? Also, how practical would it be to walk from Boardwalk to the monorail by Epcot in order to go to the MK? We have 2 wheelchairs and want to avoid the buses as much as possible.

About 20 minutes.

If you don't have park hoppers, it won't work at all.

If you do have park hoppers, you can do it, but it's quite a hike. A little over a mile.

Hi all,
Although I am a planner, there is one open day of our trip where we will not have a plan, just a dinner ARD at WCC. We will either be at MK, Epcot or our resort (AKL) prior.

I'm trying to figure out our transportation. Is this correct?
From AKL, bus to AK & bus to WL
From MK, ferry to WL.

I'm confused how to get there from Epcot. Should we take a bus from Epcot to WL? How long would that take? Or monorail to MK, then ferry to WL? We don't have part hoppers, so would we need to enter MK to use the monorail, or are the monorail and ferry at the TTC?

Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

If it were me, I would take the bus to MK, from your resort, and then take the boat over to WL. No, you don't have to go into the park.
If you are at Epcot, just hop on the WL bus.

I do like taking the boat over to WL...it's a very pleasant way to go, and something a bit different. Very peaceful. And the walk up to WL from the boat dock is very nice.

ARe there buses that run from the various parks to DTD? Or would I have to go park to resort to DTD?

Nope, no buses run between DTD and any park.
You have to leave a park and take a resort bus to DTD.
Here are my suggestions....
Bus, from any park, to SSR. Then walk to DTD..only problem is there are several stops at SSR before getting to the one you want...Congress Park I believe.
Or, from...
MK...walk or monorail to the CR, bus to DTD
DHS...walk or boat to BW, bus to DTD
Epcot..walk to BC, bus to DTD
AK...bus to AKL, bus to DTD

Or, if you want a nice leisurely time...bus from any park to POR, and then boat to DTD. Time consuming but nice.

Staying at ASMo:

1. ASMo ---> BC

2. ASMo ---> Poly

3. ASMo ---> Contemporary

As I understand it, each resort has buses to each of the parks. Is this right? So I could go to breakfast at BC and then get a bus to one of the parks?

And how does returning to your hotel work? Will a single bus just stop at many resorts, or do I have to get on a specific one?

Thanks!

1. two options...a cab would be the quickest depending on the time of your ADR. IF your ADR is before 8am, I would just take a cab. Otherwise, take the bus to DHS and then boat over to BC from there. You could walk, but to BC is about 20 or so mins.

2. Bus to MK, monorail or ferry to the Polynesian. The monorail starts at 7am.

3. Again, bus to MK, then walk over to CR...head to the park, but stay to the right and follow beneath the monorail line to the right...all the way to the CR. Takes under 10 mins. You can take the monorail but I usually just walk it.

Yes, there are buses to the parks. From BC, you can walk or boat to both Epcot and DHS. Buses run to MK and AK.
When returning to ASMo....your bus 'may' stop at the other two AllStar resorts, but that's it. Many times Movies has it's own bus, but at other times it shares with Music and Sports.

goofy4tink, you have been wonderful! If you wouldn't mind, I have one more question.

ASMo ---> Grand Floridian

Thank you!

Bus to MK and then the ferry or the monorail to GF.
Yup! I would take the ferry if it's either there or just coming in. The monorail will take you about 20 mins, not including any wait times. The ferry goes right to the GF after leaving MK. Very nice ride. It's one of the smaller boats, not the big ones.

HI everyone - I booked 2 early tours and a dinning ressie that I need help with as to transit times and transportation directions. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate your input and suggestions!

We are staying at THE SWAN -

We have an 8:30am Keys to the Kingdom tour - and have to meet at the MK, package pick up by 8:15am -
** What is the best way to get to MK from the Swan - and what time do we need to leave.

We have a 9:30am WILD ANIMAL TREK tour at the Animal Kingdom - Again -
** What is the best way to get to AK from the Swan - and what time do we need to leave.

We have 7:50pm dinner ressies at California Grill/CR - if we end up leaving from the SWAN to go there - what do you suggest as the best way, and departure time.

Again - I so appreciate any input / help you may be able to provide!

Thanks,
Sherri
