Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

HI everyone - I booked 2 early tours and a dinning ressie that I need help with as to transit times and transportation directions. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate your input and suggestions!

We are staying at THE SWAN -

We have an 8:30am Keys to the Kingdom tour - and have to meet at the MK, package pick up by 8:15am -
** What is the best way to get to MK from the Swan - and what time do we need to leave.

We have a 9:30am WILD ANIMAL TREK tour at the Animal Kingdom - Again -
** What is the best way to get to AK from the Swan - and what time do we need to leave.

We have 7:50pm dinner ressies at California Grill/CR - if we end up leaving from the SWAN to go there - what do you suggest as the best way, and departure time.

Again - I so appreciate any input / help you may be able to provide!

Thanks,
Sherri
I'm going to assume you won't have a car. So, based on that assumption...

KTTK tour....if you have to be there for 8:15, I would be out at the bus stop by 7:15. THe buses start running by 6:30, each day. These buses do not run quite as frequently as the regular buses do, so if you get there as the MK bus is leaving, you may have to wait 20+ mins for the next one. You might want to be out by 7, just to be safe.

Animal Kingdom...bus from the Swan by 8:30. That should get you to AK by 9ish.

Calif Grill for 7:50...bus to MK, then walk or monorail to CR. Be at the MK bus stop by 6:50. When you get to MK, you can take the monorail over..it's the next stop, that should take you about 15 mins total. OR, you can walk...stay to the right as you head towards MK from the bus area. Follow beneath the monorail line, to the right, along the sidewalk. THe bus area will be on your right, MK will be on your left. Takes about 8 mins to walk to the CR.

Hope that helps a bit.

I recommend no later than 8:15. If you happen to get a bus that is going all the way around the Epcot Resorts loop to the Boardwalk, that could add 15 minutes or more to the transit time. Also, you will be arriving at AK right around rope drop, so you could be fighting crowds entering the park.

THANK YOU THANK YOU! I appreciate the suggestions - and yes, you are correct - no car. Transportation from MCO to the Swan and back to MCO when we leave are next on my TO DO list!

;o)

Ok, I can go with that. Usually, when I've been at either the S/D or BW, we have gone to YC, then BC and then to our destination....usually they were the final resorts. BUT..that doesn't mean it's always going to be that way.

We are planning on seeing the 6pm show at Cirque, then would like to take a carriage ride at either Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans. Carriage rides run until 9:30. Is it possible to get from DTD to either of these in time for a 9:30 ride? We would either use Disney buses or a taxi, whichever will get us there in time.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You should be able to make it. If you can get over to the Marketplace boat dock, you could take the boat to PO, takes about 20 mins once the boat comes. Or, just head to the PI bus stops (closer than Marketplace) and take a bus to either resort.

All Star Movies to the Beach Club???

Depends on the time you need to get to BC. If it's for an early breakfast ADR, I would just take a cab. If it's later in the day, take a bus to DHS and then either boat or walk over to BC....boat takes about 20 mins (not including wait times), walk is about 20 mins.

There will be buses running to the resorts after the late HDDR show.

Is this still the case? I've booked a reservation for the 9:30 HDDR and like the original poster, I too am staying at CSR and was wondering how to get back after the show. If this is still an option, it would make things much easier.

To the best of my knowledge, yes it is. It isn't particularly quick but you will get to your resort. They group each bus by resort proximity...so your bus could possibly make stops at 4 or 5 resorts.

Thank you for your reply. I don't have a problem with it not being all that quick; just wanted to make sure I didn't have to figure something else out.

Thanks again!

First question: We have an 8am reservation for Crystal Palace but the park does not open until 9am. We have a car and will be driving to the TTC. When I get to TTC do I hop on the resort monorail or the MK monorail. Is the MK monorail running that early?? We hope to be at the monorail by 7:30am.

Second question: We have a reservation at Chef Mickey's for 8am one day too. We plan to drive and use valet parking at the Contemporary...given the fact that we will be valet parking at Beach Club anyways. So, if I valet park, can I leave my car there for the day or do I need to move it?? We are going at the end of September. I'm not trying to cheat the system...haha..so if I have to park at TTC and take monorail to Contemporary, I am happy to do that too!!!

The monorail starts up by 7am...you should be fine. If, for some reason, the resort monorail wasn't stopping at the TTC, you could always walk over to the Polynesian and hop on there..takes less than 10 mins to get there. But, I don't see any reason the resort monorail wouldn't be stopping at the TTC at 7:30am.

And yes, you can pay to valet park at the CR and then go to a park..that's fine. Others may tell you that it isn't allowed, but I've asked at both the valet stand as well as the front desk at various resorts. They all have told me that if you pay to valet park, you are free to go to a park. Self parking? No.

Thanks!! I also have read that valet parking at hotels is okay...and we might just use the TTC since we can catch the resort monorail and go right to Contemporary. Nice to have both options!!

Hi all. So I saw they are cutting the monorail an hour after regular park closing time, even if the park is open for evening EMH. I read the update and it advised they would be using additional buses/boats. We are at BLT, so MK is no big deal, we would walk anyway probably (although I am curious if they will run after MNSSHP?) For Epcot I'm a bit confused :confused3. Does the CR even have a bus pavilion at EPCOT? I've only ever taken the Monorail from the MK monorail loop resorts. Thanks in advance for any help!

If the monorail isn't running, due to those cutbacks, there will be a bus. There should be signage that points you to the right spot.
