I'm going to let the pictures tell much of this story. You know what they say...Pictures are worth a 1000 words. Since I am too lazy to type 1000 words, the pictures will have to do.
Lunch, the all important midday meal. A meal with champions.
Well at least a few enlarged friends.
Who happen to have larger feet than I. (is that possible?)
We were headed to our lunch ADR’s at the Hollywood & Vine, Playhouse Disney Lunch.
I booked this meal shortly after it’s opening. I did this knowing that the first reviews were just mediocre, but I still wanted to give it a try. After all it had many of my Tink’s, favorite early A.M. ‘friends’.
Tink was a late talker, but JoJo was one word she new (along with Bell Bell (for all princess’ and then there was MoMMA - of course).
Why choose lunch, you may ask?
Well, the way I figure... We don't miss any of the GOLDEN park touring time, by choosing Breakfast. After all most ADR breakfast time slots fall after park opening. The time when the park is the least crowded. And you my friend and us, should be hitting the attractions.
As fas as you can.
Where are all crowds of people?
Just like us, usually trying to get their butts outta bed, kids dressed and out the door.
It's tough to be a parent.
And a bug too.
Okay, back to the Story Jen. (yes I enjoy talking to myself).
When we entered, we were greeted by brightly dressed, fun and excited CM’s. We were quickly seated in a very empty restaurant. My first thoughts were that I had made a mistake in my planning. Those thoughts were quickly washed away as we heard the music start.
Suddenly Playhouse Disney CM’s appeared on each side of the restaurant, the Characters joined them and they invited the kids up to dance and sing.
The scene was Priceless.
Simply Priceless.
Tink began yelling, “Momma Go, Go!”
“Go, Go!”
So we let her out of her highchair and watched as she ran over to the group and jumped in and began to jiggle her booty to the music.
Lil’l Diz Man, hung back and decided to take it all in via the seat, which he sat.
My only ‘complaint’ (not really) was that the fun music/singing/dancing seemed to be going on every 5 minutes. I never did time it, but seriously as soon as one of us got up to get food it started. By the time a character came by, we took our pic’s and got a siggie, the music would start again. It took us FOREVER to get a plate for each member of our family and then eat it… But it was worth it! So worth it! We would go there again, just to play…it was that much for TINK! (mom & dad and big bro too).
My girl loves her some JoJo. She was tickled pink to see her!
Kissing noses:
Big Bro got into the fun!
The food was great! There were several ‘warmed’ dishes to choose from, a build your own sandwich station, carved ham & turkey breast, mini kids food bar and a nice dessert bar. Some of my favorites were the Chicken Satay w/peanut sauce, seafood pasta & garlic mashed. (This girls loves her some mashed!).
As buffets go, I felt this was to par with the rest of them.
I give it:
B+ for Food
A++ For atmosphere and fun!
This would be our last buffet meal. Buffet-wise, weighing in at #1 for food would go to Crystal Palace…just based on pure amount of choices alone. #1. For dessert hand down goes to Chef Mickey’s… the dessert buffet rocks! #1 For fun absolutely, positively goes to The Hollywood & Vine Play house Disney Lunch.
The kids just couldn’t get enough of the fun. In fact I had to take a bit of food with for Tink to eat after we left, because she just would not each while we were there. (Don’t worry…No Flames needed. I asked the CM if it was okay).
On our way out my DH & I decided to take the kiddos potty. The potty was on the other side of the restaurant, so when we came out of the potty the ‘fun’ was going on again.
Tink jumped right in and would not leave until it was over.
Lil’l Diz man also decided to join in on the fun…from a bench.
Tummies full, we needed to catch a few things before heading out for the day.
