Off to Neverland...A BOGO Trip Report! PG 44 ~ It's over

Jen I went through exactly the same with my DD's except they were a bit older and it's so hard to get the balance of them knowing something and not too much, I think you did a great job

Thanks so much! Esp. coming from such a good mommy like you!

So far I've made it to page 17 :cool1:

Oh well I guess I'l have to finish reading it tomorrow...:surfweb:

I'm loving all the details and pics. Tinks haircut is soo cute and the guys are looking mighty handsome with their do's.
Melissa- I hope you got through okay. I added the next post info to help make it easier. Thanks so much for reading! You should have your kiddos get the hair done...what fun!

Hey Jen! Another MN DIS-er checking in. I started your trippie yesterday and just caught up this afternoon. I am sorry to hear about your friend and will pray for your mom.
Your trippie has been wonderful- can't wait to read more! :surfweb:
Another MN Mom! Yea hoo! :cool1: You read it fast! I wish it was as fast to read as it is to write. Thank you so much for the prayer! I hope you are outside enjoying the wonderful weather today...-subtract- the yucky humidity! :cool1:
Great report, thanks.
Thanks so much for reading it! I really appreciate that you took time to post!

Whats been going on. No I'm not slacking...just busy! I promise!:)
My cousins were here from TX for the weekend. They wanted to to see my 'mom' before she got too ill. We had a great time together. I brought them to visit my 'mom' several times a day and brought them shopping. They LOVE the no tax on clothes that we have in MN. But something very sad happened while we were shopping on Friday... My DH took our kiddos & my cousin's dd to the local swimming pond...while there a little boy drowned. DH said that the screams from the mom were just horrible. This terrible accident is a reminder to never keep your eyes off of your little ones while around water. NEVER! And always make sure your little ones have swimming devices on (like life vests). My DH is always amazed at the amount of people who leave their kiddos to play, while they read books or chit chat with friends. In this situation my dh was sitting on the other side of the pond, so he didn't see the mom, son or how it happened. The mom said she turned away for just a minute while he was playing in the sand and her ds was gone... It was a terrible loss...How very sad for this family. :sad1: :grouphug: They will be in my prayers and thoughts forever.

We have been talking to our ds at length about what happened. Although I hope the scare of what could happen never leaves him, I do not want him to be afraid of the water.

Okay, I will get off my soap box. I will get more of this TR out asap!

I heard about this on the news the other day and instantly thought of you since it was near where you live. How horrible - I can't imagine what the mom went through. So tragic. Good advice, good advice. Little ones like ours are so QUICK!!!!

I heard about it on the news, too. Tragic. Can't believe how quickly life can change.

I always worry about my DIS friends when I hear things on the news -whether it's local or even in a different part of the country.
:grouphug:

Prayers to everyone.
Barb

I think you did a great job with your talk with Lil Diz Man...you made me cry...but wow - nice talk...

And I was still ferklempt when I stumbled on pics of Tink at the Play & Dine meal! How cute!! It looked like tons of fun!!

Oh...and how sad about the little one at the lake...I didn't hear about that. How awful...I'm horribly afraid of the water and maybe a little TOO overprotective with Michael, but it's stunning to think what can happen in an instant...:sad2:

How horrible...my goodness. I just feel like I need to hug my baby!

I hadn't heard the drowning news this past weekend. I'll take a peek at the StarTribune when I am done posting. Thank you for the reminder to keep a very close eye on our kids.

I hope your 'mom' is doing well. :grouphug:

You caught me! I'm not looking forward to the end either.

Or am I?

Well, as I know you know...Disney endings suck! Who wants the Magic to end? Neva, Neva, Nevaaaa.... (this would be Tinks newest expression. Nope Momma doesn't talk like that. Promise. Pinky Style. Tink got into a spiff with a another 2.5 year old going on 21 at her big bro's game. Hands were on the hips, fingers were waving...and NO i do not do that either. Anyhoo the oter lil'l prima donna got a run for her money. An my Tink, learned a new phrase!).

A sad, sad tragedy. But a reminder of how precious life is.

I think you did a great job with your talk with Lil Diz Man...you made me cry...but wow - nice talk...
Thanks...sadly not all of parenting is roses. [/QUOTE]

Well, okay, a lot isn't...I'll give you that.

Thanks for catching up...you are just days away from your next trip! Lucky lady!

I heard about it on the news, too. Tragic. Can't believe how quickly life can change.
It can...what a loss of a un-fufilled life. The poor family.
I always worry about my DIS friends when I hear things on the news -whether it's local or even in a different part of the country.

Me too, me too. :grouphug:

We must keep our little ones close at all times. This can be difficult with little ones like my Tink... But it is essential! A reminder that hit home. A life lesson for my dh & I and Lil'l Diz!

It's been awhile since I have given a naughty Tink update. Well she committed the inevitable. Her Naughtiness has toped the top of her top lists of naughty!

Lil'l Diz was working on an art project whilst her royal pain in the pooper was napping. After he was done and before Tink awoke, I asked him to put away all of his supplies.

When Tink awoke, I set her up with a snack at the kitchen table, turned on a cartoon and started to clean up the house a bit...

Apparently Big Bro put away his loot. But forgot to shut the art closet.

Minutes later, I heard...

Nothing.

Silence.

I thought, 'Oh no...what is Tink doing?'

I quickly ran to her new favorite hiding place... the dining room curtains. AKA 'the spot' to go, where she thinks no one can see her. This spot is often the location of candy wrappers, cheese wrappers, big brothers toys and mommies 'no no's' like lip gloss, credit cards & cash.

Where is this 'place'?

The dinning room curtains.

What did she do this time?

She took her first shot at cutting.

MY CURTAINS!

I am now the owner of little slits going up the edges of my SILK CURTAINS!

Very hard to see in a picture...but I swear they are there! The other one has them too...

In her time out ~ After the offense!

Very hard to see in a picture...but I swear they are there! The other one has them too...
:scared1:
Ohhhhhhhh...........Nooooooooo........ I see them.... yikes.... Deep breaths, Mom. Oh, goodness....... Just keep repeating...... "I will miss these days, SOMEDAY. I WILL miss these days, someday. I WILL (?) :confused3 miss these days, SOMEDAY????"

Isn't she just the sweetest thing, though? princess:

Here's pixie dust for you. pixiedust:

OMG... just LOOK at those huge brown eyes! That girlie is going to be a real heartbreaker princess:

You might not actually miss these days.... but they'll make for GREAT stories someday. Trust me on that.... payback is FUN in the teen years :thumbsup2 Especially with photographic evidence :lmao:

:faint: Silky slitty curtains???

I can see the slits!

BUT...how can you punish that cuteness???

OH NO!! Bad Tink, BAD!!!:headache:

Well, umm...at least she didn't cut her hair...:rolleyes1 No, I take that back...hair grows back...curtains do not.

Now you're going to have to even them out...give them all "fringes" and maybe it won't be too noticable...:sad2:

Wow thanks for the coming out party :rotfl: I never knew it could be so fun!

It looks like you're dealing pretty well with the curtain issue, giving little Tink a time out, but you seem to keep your sense of humor about the situation, I hope I can be as good at parenting!

Funny curtain story. Our DS (almost 2) got a hold of mommy's nail polish and decided to paint himself up, his face, arms, pj's AND all over the carpet!! Of course he gave us the big smile with those big blue eyes. We are still trying to get it all out of the carpet!! Tink and our DS must be "twins!"

On a side note, hope all of you Dis'er's in the Twin Cities/Minnesota are okay as well as your friends/family after yesterday's tragic bridge collapse during rush hour in dwntwn Mpls. Many sad stories I am sure yet to come. The pictures are surreal and unbelieveable but the genorosity and caring of Minnesotan's are second to none.

Just caught up to your trip report. Tink looked like she was having a great time at play house Disney - Probably more fun than when you found out she cut your curtains. :rotfl2:

OMG Jen  I can see the cuts, what a little rascal, did she know she'd done wrong though? But as others have said what a cutie :rotfl2:
