Off to Neverland...A BOGO Trip Report! PG 44 ~ It's over

I will be working on an update today. My thoughts were elsewhere, with last weeks terrible tragedy of the 35W bridge collapse. We were one of the lucky ones, who didn't have anyone on the bridge when it collapsed. My DH traveled this bridge daily for work. It is a very sad loss. My prayers are with any DIS families who are effected.:flower3:

On another note~
Tink has been busy up & to no good. She has decided she doesn't want to wear diapers, however can't figure out how to potty on the potty.:headache: I sit her down to potty every few minutes with no success...then minutes after she goes on the floor! :headache: :headache: She has caught herself and ran to the potty, resulting in a potty trail on my hardwood...at least is it usually the hardwood. :sad2: I was going to clean my carpets in the next few weeks, but I think I will be waiting... yucky!

So glad to hear you are OK. I was getting worried. We weren't affected by the collapse, either. At least not physically. Still.......... My GREATEST fear in life is to be trapped in a car, under water. When I even consider that my children might be with me..... I come unhinged. Just sitting here, typing this, I am panicking......

As far as Tink's potty training - I have heard others say to put two pairs of panties on her. At least that would absord some of the urine as she runs to the potty. Good Luck!!!

We're in the midst of this with Minnie right now too. We have the potty chair right in the livingroom (where we spend most of the time) and she's wearing the PullUps training pants... the ones with the Princesses on them. The princesses disappear when they get wet and Minnie  her princesses! She can also get them up and down pretty good with some help. It's still very hit and miss though (yeah... bad pun intended :teeth:) but we've had a few successes this week! I wish you good luck and patience  :)

So pleased you are all OK it was on our news and looked horrific!

Good luck with Tink and lucky you have wooden floors :rotfl2:

Goodness... cause I think you need it for the tragedy AND the potty training.

Do you have a potty chair??? Maybe you could put a potty chair in a few different rooms so that you don't have a potty trail!

I do, I do! I have each of the real potties armed with those removable toddler cushions and step stools and I have a potty chair in in my living room and upstairs. She just doesn't get it.

I have been letting her run a muck with a bare bottom too...

All I can say is, "This Sucks!"

Maybe you could some how fasten Swiffer type cloths to her feet... piddle and wipe all at the same time! Just trying to be helpful here! :teeth: :thumbsup2

On our main floor, mostly, but we do have carpet. It seems that she has gone far more on the hardwood though.

Calgon take me away!

I hear your pain! Let me know if the pull ups work for you. i have heard mixed reviews. My lil'l diz never needed them.

And I have always heard that boys are harder to train than girls...:confused3

One of my biggests fears is the very same! Plus I've always had a fear of driving over bridges with water under them. I think it stems from so much water around here! We drive around a lake everyday and I keep one of those window breaking gadgets in our cars at all times. Do you have one? If not you should get one! If for anything else, peace of mind! My gadget also had a razor to cut the seatbelt.

There is not a day that when I drive around the lake, that I don't have a plan on how to get us out in the fastest manner.

Chills to think about it...

I may try that...but first I need to get more panties! She only will wear princess ones. Boy, I wish the Disney Store was still all over the TC!... It is a bummer to drive to the MOA! I should see if Target has them... Just another excuse to shop!

I DO have one of those "Gadgets"! (Great minds think alike!) It's in the overhead compartment right next to my seat. DON'T LEAVE IT IN THE TRUNK, PEOPLE!!!! :confused3
Which lake are you on? Minnetonka? My boss lives down there.

Good luck with the potty training.
Barb
P.S. Boys are not necesarily easier to train than girls. I remember MANY times when DS was sitting on the toilet & his "aim" was off, & he'd end up squirting right between the stool & the seat, so he would STILL "wet his pants". Don't tell him I told you that, though! :ssst:

This is my 1000 th Post! Yippee Skippee to me!

A special Thanks! To all of my make believe friends! You are all the best! :cheer2:

Hi. I stumbled upon your trip report today. I can't even remember what I was searching for when I found it. I didn't want to stop reading it even to go visit my parents. Your report is great and the kids are so cute. They make me want to have some or just borrow someone else's. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Your report has all the emotions. It made me laugh and cry. Actually I haven't cried this much since I watched the "Notebook". I look forward to more of your report. :cloud9:

Congratulations on your 1000 post -- Actually I think you are at 1011 right now so -- woo hoo to that :cool1: :cool1:
how is the potty training going??

Wow, I am compared to the Notebook. ;) I loved that book and the movie too! Thanks for jumping on and leaving a message. I hope I do not loose you for my lack of promptness. I am trying to get better. Trying...

Going, going... Tough! But she did potty on the real toilet last night. :cool1:

I can't wait to read more of your report.

How is your mom?

I can't wait to read more of your report.
Me too... I am really trying to get it done. You wouldn't believe the amount of 'things' that keep coming up in our lives!

How is your mom?
I would say she is stabilizing. I wish she wasn't stabilizing at the place that she is at, but it is what it is...

She can only use a walker to get around the house. Her legs have swollen from something the doctors are calling 'emphademia?', so now has to have her legs wrapped from toes to thigh for most of the day. She can no longer hold her head upright, so it hangs down to the floor. She is frail. Too frail.

The Mayo ran a battery of more tests and determined that the cancer spread to her hip and that the Chemo was not working...so they stopped it. That was hard!

Then, they decided to begin a once a week chemo treatment and will reassess in a month.

Our world seems to be on a roller coaster...just not a fun one.

Anyhoo... I have been poking around here, reading, sometimes leaving a few messages. I'm going to get this thing done! Sooner than later.

Thanks for hanging in here with me. It is much appreciated!

Are you in area of Minnesota that is getting pounded with rain or are you north of it? It looks horrible.
