I feel like there is still to much conflicting information floating for any of us to really know what is going on.

And there could possibly be soft openings.

yea... im going to hold out on making any big changes since we still have awhile but i will definitely keep an eye on it now... i would hate to miss opening by merely a few days! funny thing is i called my husband to give him the update and he was all upset too :p... call disney, ask them, give them your feedback :rotfl2: so happy he is officially a disney dad :thumbsup2

Thanks for the congrats, she's been with us for 16mths, so we're glad to have everything official now.

What's everyone doing for window decorations?? I'm drawing blanks every time I think about it.

Good question!!! I've never decorated my window before...but I was just reading a trip report that had decorations on the door. I'm thinking about making magnets to put on the door. I want to be able to use some of them to decorate my cruise door as well. I'm gonna have to start looking around to see what I find and start thinking up some ideas.

I'm really excited and nervous that I wanted to share this with you all. Yesterday I went ahead and booked our flights and hotel for our Surprise Christmas trip to Disneyland. :cheer2:Ever since carsland opened the kids have been asking to go and they even said that's all they want for Christmas. My plan is to surprise them on Christmas morning with a few gifts leading up to the big surprise and then we head to the airport for a 3pm flight.

I'm nervous because right now it's still a surprise for DH as well. I'm afraid if I tell him everything is booked he will not be able to hold in the excitement and go break the news to the kids. Our Nov DW trip was supposed to be a surprise but we ended up telling the kids.

I'm also nervous b/c we're going the week between Christmas and New Year which is the busiest time of year and we have never travelled anywhere on a holiday so I just hope we manage the park crowds.

But seeing the parks during Christmas will be awesome! I have so much to learn about DL as it's really very different from Disney world.

We are thinking about Disneyland next summer, so let me know what you learn! lol

We are surprising DD with our November trip. We'll tell her two weeks before we go so she has some time to be excited but not so much time that she drives me crazy with being impatient....I'm impatient enough for both of us...I don't need her help!

Currently stalking Chef Mickeys for dinner. I changed our minds about La Haceinda after reading the menu several times. I would like it but I don't think DH and DD will. DD asked about Chef Mickeys so I am trying.

Keep trying. Don't give up. Especially if reservations for BOG do open by the end of this month. :thumbsup2

To all of you that have done tye-die mickey shirts...do you have any tips for making the mickey head come out good?

How are you surprising your DD? We are going to Disney for the first time with our two boys, DS (9) and DS (6). They have no idea, and I think we're going to tell them about two weeks before also. It's so hard to keep it a secret!

Keeping the secret isn't easy. It helps that we talk about Disney even when we aren't planning a trip. She knows we are going at some point because we had to postpone our June trip, but she doesn't know that we are going in November. I've already slipped once. I said something about someone on the Dis that was going the same time as us and she said...but we don't know when we're going...I responded..well, when I want us to go.

We are telling her the night of her First Reconcilation. I made 8 clues for a treasure hunt. She loves to do those. I've done a couple for small prizes, just for fun. Each clue has a different character pic on it with a clue for the location of the next clue. When she gets to the last place there will be a small box. When she opens the box there will be balloons in it, as well as the personalized maps I ordered, scrapbook stickers and whatever else I pick up along the way.

Oh, and last night DH and I burned the edges of the paper (that the clues are on) over a candle while we watched the olympics.

Putting the paper in the oven and it will give an overall aged look to the paper

To all of you that have done tye-die mickey shirts...do you have any tips for making the mickey head come out good?

I'm starting to think luck... I was super careful to use lots of thread/rubberbands and be very careful placing the ink to an upside down head taking care of the soaking pattern as it got closer to the bands, but it STILL turned out like a heart blob.

It is 1 table credit.

Thanks!:thumbsup2

For the HFMD DD woke up from nap with a 102.5 temp that went up to 103.5. She had a fever for close to 3 days. After it broke shortly after she started to get the bumps on her hands, and mouth. She got a few in her mouth. To catch it, it's very similar to any virus. Just touching stuff. If it is the A6 strain which is really bad right now it is affecting adults badly also. I got it 3 days after her, and was in agonizing pain. If their are mouth sores you can use a mixture of maalox and Benadryl, makes a numbing cream for the mouth. Just swish it around. Not sure how much since I have a 2 year old. Good luck I hope we never get it again.

Thanks for the info. DD is on her way home to Virginia with DGD. Her fever just broke last night and she is eating again, but says her throat now hurts. I called DD and told her to watch for the bumps/blisters. She wanted to get home to her own pediatricians and I'm glad she's on her way. A 6 hour drive that will probably take 8 hours. She has 3 kids: 10 mos, almost 3 and 5. Makes the stops a bit difficult, but DD is amazing! Thanks again for the info!:goodvibes

I think my laundry day is every day but I would be soooo excited if I could say I only had 16 more laundry days.... Let's see I could say only 14 more Sunday church services to sit through... that sounds less than 95 days... I like your way of thinking!!
:goodvibes

Your schedule just makes me :faint: I know you'll do great in both law school and the running! Good for you!:cheer2:

Today is our DS's 6th birthday! We are getting ready to go out of town to Williamsburg to take him and DD to Great Wolf Lodge for his birthday. Can't wait to get away for a few days. I can't believe that our professional days for school start in two weeks. Summer has gone by so fast.

Happy Birthday to your son. Sounds like a fun time you have planned for him!:dance3:

Well I took Kaileigh to the doctor. She has hand foot mouth....how do you even get that? :confused3 At least it isn't what I thought it might be. The last time she had a UTI and only complained her stomach her and I thought that might be it again since she was complaining about her tummy. I researched it and there doesn't seem to be much on it. But the doctor told me she has seen alot of cases of it lately. So apparently it is going around. On a better note....at least it is now and not right before our trip.

I printed it on a creamish color cardstock, so I don't think I need the paper to get any darker. But thanks for posting it.

I'm starting to think luck... I was super careful to use lots of thread/rubberbands and be very careful placing the ink to an upside down head taking care of the soaking pattern as it got closer to the bands, but it STILL turned out like a heart blob.

That is not what I wanted to hear! Sorry yours didn't turn out well. Did you try it again?

BTW, just read this on easywdw

Word is that Passholder Previews of “New Fantasyland” are coming in November. One would imagine that would mean early November, with the entire area (minus the Mine Coaster) being fully operational by Thanksgiving. Woo hoo.

Just did some this weekend and did a replacement one today. I think the key is pulling that dental glass extremely tight and putting about 3 of the wider rubber bands extremely tight around the base of the string after cinching it. Be sure not to go above the cinched floss with the bands, but below it. I also wrapped the Mickey part in plastic wrap while dying the rest of the shirt and did the Mickey part last (opposite of what some instructions say). The reason for my re-do is accidentally cutting my shirt when clipping the tight bands/floss at the end so be careful with that. I am very happy with all 4 (well, 5 with holes) of the sharpness of the head.
